“Mr. Bloomer… have mercy…”
Even though Ellis Marner and the others were martial artists with exceptional endurance, the pain they were enduring was excruciating, and pleas for mercy escaped their lips.
Leo changed his hand seal, and the intense pain within the five individuals immediately eased. Ellis Marner and the four elders stood up, looking at Leo with a hint of fear in their eyes. The agony they experienced a moment ago was almost unbearable.
“This is just the initial stage of the Heartbreak Pill’s effects. When it fully activates, the pain intensifies each day. After three months, the intestines decay, leading to a painful death,” Leo explained casually.
Ellis Marner and the elders were on the verge of spitting out blood. The pain in the initial stage nearly cost them their lives. Imagining the horrors of the later stages sent shivers down their spines.
“As long as you remain loyal to me, I will periodically help suppress the poison. Moreover, the Heartbreak Pill won’t affect your cultivation. If you remain faithful, I will consider completely removing the poison. But if you harbor other intentions, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Leo continued, employing a mix of coercion and persuasion.
Leo’s control over these five individuals essentially meant control over the entire Flying Dragon Gang. Ellis Marner quickly pledged, “From now on, we will follow Mr. Bloomer’s orders.”
“And today’s events, keep them to yourselves,” Leo added.
“Yes,” Ellis Marner and the others responded in unison.
Just then, dozens of figures appeared not far behind Ellis Marner and the others. Jennifer, dressed in a blue gown, led the group. Two elders from the Seven Stars Sword Sect followed, with thirty elite disciples carrying swords.
As Jennifer approached, Leo greeted her with a gentle smile, saying, “The situation has been resolved.”
Master Jennifer nodded subtly but couldn’t help showing a hint of surprise when she noticed eight bodies on the ground-five of them familiar faces and three presumably from the Lynd family.
“All resolved by you?” Jennifer asked, her eyes reflecting incredulity. While aware of Leo’s strength, she didn’t expect it to be this overwhelming.
Leo nodded and explained, “Yes, I’ve made a breakthrough in my cultivation.”
Jennifer shifted her gaze, landing on Ellis Marner. “You’re… the gang leader Ellis Marner?”
Ellis Marner nodded awkwardly, smiling with a touch of emotion. The little girl from back then had now become the sect leader, and her strength had reached the level of an advanced martial artist.
“Did you come with Fiery Blaze Sect and the Lynd family to confront Seven Stars Sword Sect?” Jennifer’s tone turned cold.
“Master Jennifer, Flying Dragon Gang has now pledged allegiance to Mr. Bloomer and will serve him from now on,” Ellis Marner explained with an awkward smile.
Jennifer paused for a moment, nodding gently. Although she wasn’t sure how Leo had subdued Ellis Marner, the fact that the Flying Dragon Gang had submitted was a positive development.
“Now that the upper echelons of Fiery Blaze Sect are dead, and the remaining disciples are powerless, I need you to gather their forces, bolstering our Seven Stars Sword Sect,” Leo instructed Jennifer.
Jennifer nodded thoughtfully. Power shifts were common in the martial arts world, and the decline and absorption of Fiery Blaze Sect were expected.
“Ellis, assist Jennifer in subduing Fiery Blaze Sect. You’ll receive one-third of Fiery Blaze Sect’s resources,” Leo instructed Ellis Marner without hesitation.
“Sure, Mr. Bloomer!” Ellis Marner agreed promptly. The resources of a sect that had been around for seventy to eighty years were undoubtedly substantial, making one-third a generous offer.
“As for the Lynd family, I will personally handle it. Shao, provide Lady Jennifer with detailed information on the Lynd family,” Leo said coldly.
This time, with the demise of Henry Lynd and others, the Lynd family would undoubtedly seek revenge. Leo had no intention of waiting for their retaliation. If a snake wasn’t killed, it would eventually bite back-a foolish act he wouldn’t engage in.
Ellis Marner found Leo’s words somewhat astonishing. The Lynd family was a second-tier peak force in the martial arts world. Leo’s decision to single-handedly dismantle the entire Lynd family exuded dominance.
After all arrangements were settled, Leo drove back to the city. As usual, he appeared in the underground parking lot of the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza to pick up his wife when it was time.
The meeting with Professor Orlando was imminent. At 9:30 in the morning, Leo met Georgia at the village entrance, and Professor Orlando briefly explained the mission for this trip.
Trainhead Mountain, located behind Georgia, gained attention when a farmer, clearing land, unearthed several blue bricks. As the area was remote and uncultivated, the discovery of blue bricks seemed unusual. The farmer continued digging and found dozens of such bricks.
Sensing something amiss, the farmer reported the situation to the village chief. The educated village chief suspected the presence of an ancient tomb, reported it to the county, and, subsequently, to the city museum.
This news drew high attention from the museum and the cultural relics bureau. Coincidentally, Professor Orlando with his students for an internship at the city museum, volunteered to lead an expedition to Trainhead Mountain.
At noon, Professor Orlando enlisted local villagers as guides, and the group set out for Trainhead Mountain.
Leo finally took notice of the three students accompanying Professor Orlando. One was a sturdy young man, around six feet tall, with a stylish haircut and a handsome face-Brook Occam.
The other male student appeared more bookish, wearing black-framed glasses and exuding a scholarly vibe-Frederic Patrick.
As for the female student, Leo couldn’t help but steal a few more glances. She wore camping gear, a windbreaker, and a wide-brimmed hat. With large eyes, a small mouth, and a delicate nose, she occasionally revealed dimples on her cheeks, making her quite charming-Rita Vogt.
