Chapter 638: Shocking Again

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

Leo took out a silver needle box from his body, opened it, and displayed it in front of Monica. “The Western method of tooth extraction is too cumbersome. When I extract a tooth, it’s very simple; I just need to use a few silver needles.”
Monica couldn’t help but chuckle. “Dr. Bloomer, I am an adult. Please don’t insult my intelligence, okay?”
Leo smiled and called one of the male students from the first row to the podium. He instructed him to go to the school pharmacy and grab twenty grams of skullcap.
The student, full of anticipation for Leo’s magical tooth extraction technique, eagerly ran out of the classroom. In just five or six minutes, he returned with a small bag of skullcap powder.
Leo asked another male student to find a four-legged stool, had the slightly chubby male student sit on it, lifted the back of his shirt to expose his entire back.
Leo took silver needles from the needle box and, after inserting them into several acupoints on the slightly chubby male student’s back, said to him, “Gentleman, open your mouth now.”
The slightly chubby male student was a bit nervous and quickly opened his mouth.
Leo extended his right hand, slapped the area on the slightly chubby male student’s back where the needles were not inserted.
With a light “bang,” the slightly chubby male student’s body leaned forward, and a small object flew out of his mouth. It bounced twice on the classroom floor and quietly lay there.
Monica quickly walked over, bent down to take a closer look, and, after seeing it, her eyes widened.
The object that flew out of the slightly chubby male student’s mouth was precisely the cavity Monica had seen just now!
After a brief moment of shock, Monica stood up straight, looking at Leo with an expression of disbelief.
The students gathered around, and when they saw that it was indeed a bad tooth on the floor, waves of excitement surged from their chests once again.
“Lightly slapping on the back and making a decayed tooth fly out, this is too amazing!”
“It’s not as simple as lightly slapping. Professor Bloomer first used acupuncture!”
“It’s truly unbelievable. Through Professor Bloomer, I have truly witnessed what traditional Chinese medicine is!”
Leo smiled at the dumbfounded Monica. “Miss Monica, come over and check if this student has acute bleeding from the tooth extraction.”
Monica hurriedly walked to the slightly chubby male student and carefully examined his oral cavity.
Seeing that there was no sign of bleeding at the tooth bed where the cavity was just now, Monica instinctively swallowed saliva and said, “This… how is it possible for this situation to occur!?”
If the treatment of dislocation by Leo in the clinic had given Monica a small shock, then now, it was a complete shock. Beads of sweat even appeared on Monica’s forehead due to this astonishment.
“Miss Monica, perhaps what I just did is difficult for Western medicine to understand. They say a mountain is not like another mountain, which is quite normal. Western medicine emphasizes efficiency-treat where the illness occurs. However, traditional Chinese medicine is different. Traditional Chinese medicine views the human body as a whole, considering the overall picture when treating symptoms.”
“For example, in terms of hemostasis, if you want to use traditional Chinese medicine to stop bleeding, you must thoroughly study the twelve meridians of the human body. With this foundation, you can use specific methods to stimulate acupoints and stop bleeding from any part of the body, whether external or internal.”
Leo’s words, though seemingly simple, might not be easily understood by many traditional Chinese medicine practitioners today.
With over five thousand years of development, traditional Chinese medicine theory is vast, profound, and as extensive as the ocean. Unfortunately, as history marched forward and dynasties changed, it faced significant challenges in its transmission. Many miraculous and effective treatment methods have been lost over time.
Leo, having just demonstrated his tooth extraction technique, knew that few traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Langstel could apply it. Contemplating these thoughts, Leo couldn’t help feeling a bit melancholic.
After taking the Chinese skullcap powder and sprinkling a bit on the slightly chubby male student’s tooth gap, Leo then removed the silver needles from his back.
“Student, you’re good to go. Rinse your mouth in five or six minutes,” Leo said, patting the shoulder of the slightly chubby male student with a smile.
At this point, Monica had been completely won over by Leo’s medical skills. Her perception of Langstel’s TCM had undergone a complete transformation. After Leo’s examination and the tooth extraction, the admiration for Leo in the students’ hearts was beyond measure. Even their way of addressing him changed; from Professor Bloomer, he became the revered “Miracle Healing Teacher.”
After class, many female students enthusiastically surrounded Leo, asking various questions. They reluctantly said their goodbyes only when the bell for the next class rang.
According to the agreement with President Freeman, Leo would only come to the school for one open class per week, so he was free for the rest of the time.
Exiting the classroom, Leo noticed that Monica hadn’t left but was waiting for him ahead.
“Dr. Bloomer, congratulations. You successfully gained the favor of the students on your first day as a teacher,” Monica said, her face showing a smile but with a hint of teasing in her tone.
Leo replied, “I just helped them recognize the greatness of what they’re learning.”
“Dr. Bloomer, pride and complacency aren’t good. I guess you were more fortunate, dealing with ailments that you are particularly skilled at,” Monica said, despite being amazed by Leo’s medical skills, she didn’t let up with her playful banter.
As a foreigner who grew up with what she considered the most advanced ideas from developed countries, Monica had her pride. Although she had witnessed the miraculous nature of traditional Chinese medicine through Leo, convincing her that it was superior to Western medicine was still an impossible task.
Seeing Leo smiling without confirming or denying, Monica thought of her purpose for coming to Langstel. She changed her tone to a more sincere one and said, “Dr. Bloomer, I would like to invite you to lunch. I also want to discuss Mr. Paul’s condition with you. Is that alright?”
Monica’s attention was focused on obtaining the method to cure Paul from Leo. If she could absorb this method into her own repertoire and then publicize it to the world, the position of the American Medical Research Society in the United States and even the world would be more secure.
Leo just smiled at Monica. He neither agreed nor disagreed.
Seeing Leo’s ambiguous expression, Monica felt a bit uneasy. She thought Leo had seen through her intentions and hurriedly explained, “Dr. Bloomer, don’t overthink it. The reason I want to discuss Paul’s cure with you is just out of curiosity. I will definitely keep your treatment method confidential.”
