Dylan Dryden wasn’t actually in the BMW; he had gotten out and had been keeping a close eye on Leo and the others.
He was eager to witness the scene of the blond guy hitting Leo’s face. However, the harsh reality told him that the blond duo had failed.
Seeing the blond guy pointing towards where he was, Dylan Dryden’s expression changed.
He knew the blond guy had betrayed him.
“These two are really idiots, more adept at making trouble than achieving anything!” Dylan Dryden cursed inwardly. Quickly, he opened the car door, stepped on the gas, and prepared to leave the scene.
Suddenly, a loud bang followed by a scream echoed as the BMW collided with a pedestrian passing by.
After hitting the person, Dylan Dryden became even more nervous. He quickly shifted into reverse, backed up a bit, then shifted into drive, turned the steering wheel hard left, intending to hit and run.
But at that moment, a figure leaped in front of the car, delivering a powerful kick to the windshield.
The windshield caved in, and with Dylan Dryden’s instinctive slam on the brakes, his head collided with the sunken windshield, rendering him unconscious.
Leo opened the car door, dragged Dylan Dryden’s plump body out, and slapped him awake.
When Dylan Dryden came to, he saw Leo, panicked, and stammered, “Wh-what do you want, kid?”
“Can you tell me why you’ve been following us?” Leo asked coldly.
“Si-signing… a contract,” Dylan Dryden stammered.
“Oh, a contract?” Leo grabbed Dylan Dryden’s leg, dragging him over to Yellow-Hair and Big-Mouth.
“Baldy, slap him ten times, then break one of his legs. Otherwise, you’ll get a taste of chestnuts,” Leo ordered coldly.
Watching the battered Dylan Dryden on the ground, Violet took another roasted chestnut in her hand and said, “Leo, it seems they prefer the taste of chestnuts.”
Finishing her sentence, Violet flicked the chestnut toward the ground beside Big-Mouth’s foot with terrifying force. The ground wasn’t soft soil; it was tiled.
This showed just how powerful Violet’s hand strength was.
Yellow-Hair and Big-Mouth were terrified, their faces turning pale.
Dylan Dryden, lying on the ground, saw this scene. Cold sweat broke out on his forehead, realizing he couldn’t underestimate this adorable little girl. Simultaneously, he understood why, outside the Wilde Jewelry Group gate earlier, she had been able to knock him unconscious with a simple flick of her hand.
“Baldy, our patience is running thin. Make your choice quickly,” Violet said, taking out another chestnut, weighing it in her hand, and smiling sweetly at Big-Mouth.
In Big-Mouth’s eyes, Violet’s cute expression was horrifying. The hesitant expression on his face disappeared as he walked towards Dylan Dryden.
“Big-Mouth, wh-what are you doing? You can’t hit me!” Dylan Dryden quickly protested.
Big-Mouth crouched down, quite resentful, “Mr. Dryden, blame yourself for messing with the wrong people.”
Big-Mouth was genuinely angry because, if it weren’t for Dylan Dryden paying him and Blonde-Hair to deal with these three girls and a guy, his prided Iron-Head skills wouldn’t have been shattered by a little girl with a chestnut.
If news of this incident got out, he, Big-Mouth, wouldn’t be able to survive on the streets. It was as good as losing his job.
Dylan Dryden wanted to say something, but Big-Mouth didn’t give him a chance. He directly slapped his face.
Five handprints appeared on Dylan Dryden’s right cheek, quickly swelling.
“Slap, slap, slap…”
Big-Mouth grabbed Dylan Dryden’s collar, and his hand moved non-stop, continuously slapping Dylan Dryden’s face in a relentless barrage.
After ten slaps, Dylan Dryden’s chubby face was unrecognizably swollen.
Big-Mouth released Dylan Dryden’s collar, then lifted his foot and stomped on one of his legs.
A crisp cracking sound followed, and Dylan Dryden screamed like a slaughtered pig.
The screams quickly ceased as Dylan Dryden fainted from the pain.
Leo waved his hand at Yellow-Hair and Big-Mouth, “Take this dead pig and get lost!”
The two thugs quickly lifted Dylan Dryden from the ground and swiftly left the scene.
As for the pedestrian hit by the BMW, since Dylan Dryden had just started moving when he collided, the person’s knee only scraped a bit.
After dealing with Dylan Dryden, the three of them strolled for over an hour before leaving the shopping street. Following Violet’s strong request, they watched a movie.
Playing until around 4:30 in the afternoon, Leo drove the three back to where Nicola lived.
After handing Violet over to Nicola’s care, Leo left.
Regardless, he had an unbreakable rule to appear in the underground parking lot of the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza before 5:30 to pick up his wife after work; this was an undelayable matter.
On the way to the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza, Leo received a call from August Browne.
The content of the call was straightforward-three days later, August’s father, Old Mr. Browne, would be celebrating his 80th birthday. August invited Leo to attend the birthday banquet.
Leo naturally had to manage relations on August’s side, so he agreed.
After picking up Sophia, on the way back home, Sophia explained to Leo that they needed to make a quick visit to Huntstone City the next morning; the old Mrs. Henley had called for a last-minute family meeting.
The next morning, Leo and Sophia arrived on time at the meeting room. From the discussions among the Bloomer family members, Leo got a general idea of the meeting’s topic-it was related to August’s father’s 80th birthday.
When the meeting officially began, the old Mrs. Henley-Teresa, got straight to the point and brought up the matter.
For Teresa, accelerating the Bloomer family’s entry into the ranks of first-class families and establishing a good relationship with the Browne family were essential.
However, regarding the invitation to August’s father’s 80th birthday celebration, the Bloomer family members didn’t hold much hope. In the past four or five years, they had never received an invitation from the Browne family.
For Langstel, the Browne family, the Bloomer family was simply an insignificant existence among second-class families.
“This year, our Bloomer family has achieved some success. Perhaps we won’t be outright rejected as in previous years. Bruno, and Sophia, both of you should visit the Browne family tomorrow.”
The old Mrs. Henley decided to take advantage of Old Mr. Browne’s 80th birthday to give it a try. If the Browne family accepts the gift, it means the Bloomer family is eligible to attend Old Mr. Browne’s birthday banquet. If not, it’s the same as in previous years, and they won’t have the qualification to participate.
For such matters, the old Mrs. Henley naturally wouldn’t personally intervene. After all, this was something that could potentially be embarrassing. She had to uphold the bottom line as the helmswoman of the Bloomer family.
