Mavis looked at Leo with honesty. Leo knew that the matter needed to be resolved. After a moment’s contemplation, he turned to Mavis and said, “Okay, I’ll go to the Bernard family manor with you.”
Even if it was a potentially treacherous situation, Leo was determined to face it head-on. “Sophia, you can’t go. The Bernard family is not trustworthy; you might be in danger.”
“Sophia, we have already had a confrontation with the Bernard family, and we need to find a resolution. We can’t just avoid from the problem. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” Leo said confidently.
Eden tried to dissuade him as well: “Mr. Bloomer, the Bernard family’s invitation is not out of kindness; it’s better for you not to go.”
Joanna also advised him, “Mr. Bloomer, your wedding photos are already finished; there’s no need to stay in Maple Forest Point. We should return to Langstel as soon as possible.”
“Eden, Miss Ferguson, I have made up my mind. Please don’t try to dissuade me any further.” Leo stated firmly. Then he beckoned Eden and Joanna aside and whispered a plan to them.
The Bernard family manor was a necessary destination to resolve the conflict, but Sophia’s safety was also a consideration. Leo asked Eden and Joanna to find a safe place for Sophia to hide while he went to the manor with Mavis. No matter what happened at the Bernard family manor, Leo didn’t want Sophia to be in any danger.
Sophia understood Leo’s decision and stopped trying to persuade him. Instead, she said understandingly, “Leo, go quickly and come back soon. I’ll wait for you.”
Leo nodded and turned to Mavis. “Mavis, lead the way.”
Sophia left the hotel and watched Leo get into Mavis’s car until it disappeared into the night.
“Leo, you must come back safely.” Sophia’s eyes filled with tears as she whispered.
Eden and Joanna emerged from the hotel.
“Miss Henley, Mr. Bloomer had a request before he left; he wants us to take you somewhere for your safety.” Joanna said.
Sophia nodded and followed Eden and Joanna to the parking lot. Twenty minutes later, their Mercedes drove into the gate of the Bernard family manor and stopped in front of a three-story villa.
Mavis got out of the car first and opened the door for Leo with a polite “Mr. Bloomer, please get out.”
Leo looked around; the Bernard family manor was serene under the cover of night, with the scent of night-blooming flowers carried on the air.
Mavis led Leo into the living room of the villa.
The decoration in the living room was elegant and luxurious.
There was no one in the living room. Mavis shouted loudly, “Mr. Bloomer is here, Master.”
As soon as Mavis finished speaking, a middle-aged man in casual clothes walked out of a room. His facial features were sharp and his eyebrows slightly upturned at the end, giving him an intimidating presence.
He looked at Leo coldly at first, then spoke in a tone of disdain, “You’re the freeloading son-in-law of the Langstel second-rate family the Henley family, Leo?”
Sebastian’s words told Leo that he had already investigated his background.

Leo turned around abruptly and saw Murray Hoover walking in from the door.

Murray Hoover punched Leo in the chest.
After a dull sound, Leo was knocked sliding across the floor by Murray Hoover’s punch.

Murray Hoover’s face darkened with anger. “Is that so? Then let me give you another kick!”
With a quick movement, Murray Hoover’s body shifted, and he kicked at Leo with a speed almost too fast to see.
