Sophia was looking out the French doors, while Leo was staring at her.
At this moment, there was only one word to describe the scene: “beautiful!”
Feeling Leo’s googly eyes, Sophia turned her head and smiled lightly, “Look at you, like a pig-headed brother, haven’t you seen many beautiful women before?”
“I have seen quite a few beautiful women, but a beauty like you, every glance is a fortune.” Leo smiled.
“I think your mouth is getting sweeter and sweeter.”
“Do you want to taste it?” Leo grinned wickedly.
“Oh you!” Sophia raised her pink fist and wanted to punch Leo’s chest, but Leo caught her hand and hugged her into his arms.
Just as Leo was about to enjoy the kiss, a sudden barrage of curses made him pause.
“Leo, you dead waste, if you have any courage, come out now. Daring to beat people in Maple Forest Coast, you are prepared to pay the bloody price!”
The tender moment was completely ruined by such a tirade of cursing.
It is easy to imagine how angry Leo was now.
“Sophia, stay in the room, I will go out and take a look,” Leo let go of Sophia’s hand and said.
Sophia shook her head: “No, I will go down with you.”
Downstairs, Jacob first shouted a few curses at the window, then led a group of people into the hotel lobby.
This hotel was also owned by Joanna. At this moment, she was instructing the staff some matters in the hotel lobby.
Seeing Jacob leading a group of people in with a fierce look, Joanna first hesitated for a moment, then quickly approached them with a smile: “Oh, Mr. Jacob Bernard, welcome! Are you here to stay?”
Jacob sneered at Joanna and asked coldly: “Miss Ferguson, is there a guest named Leo Bloomer staying in your hotel?”
Now Joanna understood that it must be Kerr who went to the Bernard family after leaving the bridal shop and Jacob came here with his thugs to find Leo.
Leo’s purchase of the store’s prized possession, the wedding dress, was enough to win Joanna’s favor, but his connection to Eden as a friend sealed the deal. Joanna decided to help Leo.
Joanna put on an expression of contemplation and replied: “Mr. Bernard, there have been so many guests staying in our hotel in the past few days. To be honest, I don’t remember the Leo you mentioned.”
Jacob suddenly glared at Joanna and threatened her: “Joanna, be careful what you say. Offending the Bernard family can be a very serious matter. You know what consequences you will face if you do?”
Joanna immediately changed her expression to a deferential one: “Mr. Bernard, you know that I am just doing small business in Maple Forest Coast. Even if I were given a hundred guts to try to offend your family, I would never dare to do so.”
“Don’t talk nonsense! I will ask you again, Leo, that worthless son-in-law, is he staying in your hotel?” Jacob shouted angrily.
Joanna looked nervous: “Mr. Bernard, I really don’t know. Let me check in the computer first.”
Joanna then went to the front desk and pretended to search for information on the computer.
Jacob also walked up to the front desk and slammed his hand on it: “Hurry up! If you dare to cheat me, I will make my men rape you here!”
At this moment, Leo and Sophia arrived at the hotel lobby by elevator.
“Miss Ferguson, why are there so many crazy dogs here all of a sudden?” Leo’s voice sounded flatly.
Jacob turned in the direction of the voice, and his gaze was immediately captured by Sophia. He couldn’t help but swallow a few times as he felt a prickling heat rise up his spine.
To be honest, Jacob had never seen such a beautiful woman in his life.
Even describing her as a fallen angel would not be enough.
After a moment of hesitation, Jacob selectively ignored Leo’s presence and walked towards Sophia with a lecherous look on his face.
When he reached Sophia, he acted as if he had suddenly suffered from a bout of intermittent insanity and reached out to grab Sophia’s hand.
Sophia was taken aback by his action and quickly hid behind Leo.
“Get away from me!” Jacob growled at Leo.
“Slap!”
The response to Jacob’s outburst was a clear slap.
Jacob covered his cheek, came back to his senses from his previous entrancement and angrily shouted, “You fucking dared to hit me! Dagen, what are you waiting for? Finish this guy off!”
Dagen was only too happy to follow Jacob’s instructions and charged towards Leo with a fierce punch.
Leo effortlessly blocked Dagen’s punch with a swing of his hand.
“Clang!” With a sound similar to that of a steel plate being hit, Dagen felt the impact of Leo’s punch all the way to his bones. He winced in pain and shook his hand vigorously.
Despite feeling the power of Leo’s punch, Dagen was not deterred. He attacked Leo again.
The highly trained Dagen lasted only one round against Leo before he let out a loud scream and was sent flying across the room with a single kick. He landed on the ground with a thud and blood splattering out of his mouth. He lay there unconscious, unable to scream due to the intense pain in his ribs.
Jacob was taken aback by the turn of events but he still had the presence of mind to command his men, “Come on, all of you! Attack! If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility!”
All seven of the thugs gathered their courage and charged towards Leo simultaneously.
While this was happening, Jacob pounced on Sophia like a hungry wolf, grabbing her tightly in his arms.
Just as Jacob was about to lay hands on Sophia, everything around him suddenly went blurry. Then Leo suddenly appeared in front of him.
There was a sharp cracking sound as Jacob’s ribs broke.
Jacob’s body was propelled into the air and then came crashing back down to earth.
The excruciating pain in his chest and the broken ribs prevented Jacob from screaming out in agony; instead he passed out cold.
Leo turned around and looked at Sophia with a caring expression in his eyes. “Sophia, are you okay?” he asked.
Sophia shook her head and worriedly asked, “Leo, did you kill him?”
“He deserved to die!” Leo answered confidently.
The events that unfolded before Joanna’s eyes left her frozen in shock. She had never expected Leo to be so formidable. She knew that the men from the Bernard family were highly trained fighters but they were no match for Leo.
Joanna’s gaze then fell upon Jacob’s lifeless body on the ground, and panic began to rise within her. If anything happened to Jacob in her hotel, she would be held accountable.
Just as Joanna was about to call for an ambulance, Dagen and the other thugs finally got back up on their feet. They quickly carried Jacob and fled from the hotel lobby in a panic.
Joanna walked up to Leo trembling with fear and tried to reason with him, “Mr. Bloomer, Miss Henley, you’ve caused quite a stir here today. I suggest you two leave before the Bernard family retaliates.”
