After completing the pill, Leo sent a message to Dr. Mond.
Half an hour later, Dr. Mond returned to the anonymous traditional Chinese medicine clinic.
Leo handed a small bottle containing the pill to Dr. Mond and said, “Inside the bottle is the Chinese herbal pill I made. Give it to Dr. Beck for Paul to take. It will take effect within three days. To avoid any conflict with Will and Lisa, don’t mention that it’s a Chinese herbal pill. Just make up a name like a Western medicine.”
Dr. Mond took the small bottle and asked, “What happens after it takes effect?”
“Once Will and Lisa see the results, they will surely investigate the pill in detail. At that point, you can tell them I personally crafted this unique pill,” Leo explained.
After thanking Leo, Dr. Mond left the clinic with the pill.
Once Dr. Mond left, Leo checked the time; there was about an hour left, sufficient for crafting the Snowspirit Pill.
With various herbs in hand, Leo headed to the backyard of the clinic to prepare the Snowspirit Pill.
In a room dedicated to Leo in a small building at the back, Leo sat cross-legged on a cushion.
With a wave of his hand, the Mystical Sky Bagua-Patterned Alchemical Furnace floated up. The furnace’s body emitted a warm purple light, gradually expanding in size.
Leo took a deep breath, his eyes becoming calm and serene.
“Begin!” Leo gestured, infusing a stream of Spiritual Power into the alchemical furnace. The lid of the Mystical Sky Bagua-Patterned Alchemical Furnace floated up.
Leo’s right hand beckoned, and the Snowspirit Flower, Snake Heart Grass, Sunfire Fruit, and other herbs for making the Snowspirit Pill floated into the furnace.
“True Fire, condense!” Leo commanded, and a bright red flame rose above his palm.
With a flick of his finger, he sent the flame into the furnace, initiating the process of crafting the Snowspirit Pill.
The entire crafting went smoothly. After an hour, a crystal-clear pill and a creamy white spirit liquid had been successfully nurtured inside the furnace.
“Pill completed, open the furnace!” Leo ordered, and the round, icy pill and the white spirit liquid floated out.
Snowspirit Pill for internal use and the remaining Snowspirit Salve for external application. With both combined, the malevolent fire left by the Alastor’s dagger would vanish without a trace.
Carefully observing the Snowspirit Pill and Snowspirit Salve, both were of excellent quality. Leo’s alchemy skills had clearly made significant progress.
Removing his shirt, Leo revealed a wound on his chest about half a foot long. Strange black flames flickered at the wound, exuding a thick evil aura.
At this moment, those black flames were suppressed by a series of runes, causing no harm to Leo’s body temporarily.
Leo didn’t hesitate any longer, swallowing the Snowspirit Pill. A cool sensation swiftly circulated through his body. Leo then broke the runes at the chest.
Simultaneously, the evil black flames intensified, filling the room with a malevolent atmosphere.
Enduring the pain, Leo applied the Snowspirit Salve to the wound, and the malevolent flames rapidly subsided.
More than ten minutes later, the malevolent flames on Leo’s chest had completely disappeared. The damaged skin rapidly healed under the influence of the Snowspirit Salve.
“Finally eradicated it entirely,” Leo sighed deeply.
Next, Leo took out the Alastor’s Dagger from a nearby iron box. Holding the dagger, he caressed the blade covered in eerie black runes, and his gaze became solemn.
“Unfortunately, I can’t currently refine and use this. Otherwise, my strength would surely advance significantly,” Leo murmured to himself, reluctantly placing the Alastor’s Dagger back into the iron box.
After concealing the box, Leo left the room. The next task was to pick up Sophia from work at the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza’s underground parking lot.
On the way home, Sophia suddenly spoke, “Leo, did you forget something?”
“What thing?” Leo turned to look at Sophia, puzzled.
Leo racked his brain but couldn’t recall anything he had forgotten. Seeing Leo struggle, Sophia couldn’t help but roll her eyes and said, “You really are forgetful. Let me remind you: ‘Red Candle…'”
“Oh, the wedding dress! Taking wedding photos!” Leo suddenly remembered, realizing it was indeed an essential task.
“Sophia, once we get home, I’ll contact Eden to arrange a trip to Maplewood Beach. After going through so much recently, you’ve been through a lot too. Let’s take this opportunity to relax,” Leo suggested.
With Leo’s words, a satisfied smile appeared on Sophia’s beautiful face.
Back at the villa, after parking the car, Leo called Eden.
Eden, being enthusiastic and attentive about Leo’s matters, quickly agreed. They arranged to depart the day after tomorrow, taking a direct flight to Maplewood Beach.
Eden also promised Leo that he and his assistant, Yanis, would come to pick up Leo and Sophia early in the morning to head to the airport.
Even though they were leaving the day after tomorrow, Sophia needed to make some arrangements for her work at the company beforehand.
After dropping Sophia off at work, Leo drove to the Nameless Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic. He decided to hold consultations at the clinic in the morning and dedicate the afternoon to practice.
Not long after arriving at the clinic, someone showed up. However, it wasn’t a patient but the deputy chief of the police squad, the attractive policewoman Madame Godwin.
Madame Godwin was accompanied by three individuals – two adults and a little girl.
Seeing the little girl, Leo’s heart stirred. He quickly stood up to greet them, “Madame Godwin, who are they?”
Leo took another look at the middle-aged couple. Both appeared to be in their forties. The man wore glasses and had an intellectual air, while the woman was well-dressed and carried an air of elegance.
Judging from their attire and demeanor, they seemed to be in a comfortable financial situation.
Madame Godwin introduced, “Leo, I found the little girl you asked me to locate. These two are Bonnie’s adoptive father and mother.”
Bonnie, not at all shy, looked up at Leo and cheerfully shouted, “Hello, Uncle Leo!”
From this little girl, Leo could see a good upbringing. Leo smiled and acknowledged her greeting. He then squatted down to carefully observe Bonnie.
Bonnie was not only pretty but also adorable, and there was a resemblance between her and Chasel.
When Bonnie was adopted, she was already remembering things, aware that today the police brought her to find her dad. Looking around, she asked with an expectant tone, “Uncle Bloomer, where’s my dad?”
Bonnie’s adoptive mother couldn’t help but pat Bonnie’s little head and chuckled, “Although Bonnie is not our biological child, we have always treated her as our own daughter.”
Leo could sense that Bonnie’s adoptive parents were genuinely good people. On behalf of Chasel, Leo expressed gratitude, “Thank you for taking care of Bonnie.”
Turning to Bonnie, Leo said, “Bonnie, I’ll call your dad out now.”
Leo turned and called inside, “Chasel, come out quickly, something big!”
“Dr. Bloomer, what’s the matter? I’m in the backyard working on those flowers,” responded Chasel, coming out from inside.
Leo stepped aside, letting Bonnie come forward. He then smiled at Chasel, “Take a look, guess who’s here.”
When Chasel’s gaze fell on Bonnie, his body trembled as if an electric shock had passed through him. The expression on his face instantly froze.
In a moment, tears welled up in Chasel’s eyes. He opened his mouth in disbelief, “Bonnie, it’s Bonnie!”
Bonnie also saw Chasel and quickly recognized him. Excitedly, she shouted, “Daddy!” and rushed towards Chasel.
“Bonnie!” Chasel’s tears finally overflowed, squatting down and tightly embracing Bonnie.
“Daddy, Bonnie missed you so much… People in our hometown said you were dead, but I knew you wouldn’t leave Bonnie alone… Sob…” Bonnie tightly clung to Chasel’s neck, crying and speaking.
Abandoned by her mother and with her father missing, Bonnie developed a maturity beyond her years that her peers didn’t have.
Since being adopted, Bonnie had never shed a tear until today. Seeing her biological father in person, all the feigned strength she put on could be cast aside.
Chasel gently stroked the back of Bonnie’s head and softly said, “Daddy will never leave Bonnie again.”
A man as tough as iron, even in the face of death, wouldn’t furrow his brow. But now, tears uncontrollably flowed from Chasel’s eyes.
Three years had passed, and Bonnie was Chasel’s courage to keep going, the light in his gloomy life.
This scene of father and daughter reuniting made Bonnie’s adoptive parents’ eyes moisten too.
Though they felt reluctant, they were genuinely happy for Bonnie.
Honestly, if it were someone else, they probably wouldn’t easily let Bonnie go.
In today’s society, people as kind and morally upright as Bonnie’s adoptive parents were truly rare.
Even Madame Godwin, a tough woman, was moved by the scene of the father and daughter recognizing each other. She glanced at Leo and couldn’t resist kicking him.
“Why did you kick me?” Leo asked, puzzled.
Madame Godwin said in exasperation, “Are you made of stone? It’s such an emotional moment, and you didn’t react at all!”
