Elder Master Fire, with a slightly chubby figure, nodded, “Exactly, Young Master, and I share the same thought. We absolutely cannot miss this Thunderwing Beast’s egg.”
After a brief contemplation, Lance Eliot spoke, “Gavin and the others will return to Ghost Carving Sect, and the nearest route is through the Spirit Creek Valley of Falling Sunset Mountain. Let’s set up an ambush in Spirit Creek Valley, eliminate Gavin and the others, and then seize the spiritual beast egg. What do the two elders think?”
Elder Master Wind and Elder Master Fire exchanged glances, then said in unison, “Let’s do as Young Master suggests!”
As both the Flying Dragon Gang and Ghost Carving Sect’s mountain gates resided in the same area, their conflicts and friction were the most intense among the surrounding martial forces. With the recent demise of the two martial monarch-level experts from Ghost Carving Sect, the Flying Dragon Gang harbored ambitions to absorb Ghost Carving Sect.
Violet couldn’t help but use lip language to say to Leo, “Leo, people from the Flying Dragon Gang are not to be underestimated, planning to act in the Spirit Creek Valley-murder and pillaging.”
Hearing the sound of chairs moving in the room, Leo quickly pulled Violet to a deeper corner against the wall.
Soon, the room’s door opened from the inside, and Elder Master Wind and Elder Master Fire walked out together, disappearing quickly into the night.
Using lip language again, Violet asked, “Leo, should we do it now?”
Now, there was only Lance Eliot in the room, and Violet believed it was the opportune moment to act.
However, Leo didn’t want to alert the Flying Dragon Gang prematurely. He replied, “Wait a bit longer. Let’s go in when Lance Eliot is asleep.”
Violet nodded, following Leo’s lead. It was her first time doing something like this, and her heart was pounding with a mix of curiosity and excitement.
While the two were waiting, they suddenly heard the sound of birds flapping their wings. Following the sound, they saw two crows flying toward a dark direction.
In the martial world, crows served the purpose of conveying information. It seemed that the Flying Dragon Gang had transmitted their plan to ambush Ghost Carving Sect in Spirit Creek Valley back to their sect.
After more than ten minutes, the room finally became dark. It seemed that Lance Eliot had gone to bed.
The two waited for another ten minutes. Unable to contain herself, Violet used lip language, “Leo, can we act now?”
Leo nodded, then took out a talisman from his pocket, placing it in his left palm. He activated his Spiritual Power, and with a gesture, the talisman transformed into a gray-white moth in his right hand.
Perceptive as martial practitioners were, even in a state of deep sleep, Leo and Violet entering the room would surely awaken him. Leo needed to ensure that Lance Eliot remained asleep for a short time.
Watching the gray-white moth formed from the talisman in Leo’s left palm, Violet couldn’t help but ask, “Leo, what is this?”
“This is a Dreamweaver Moth. I’m going to make sure Lance Eliot has sweet dreams,” Leo said. He gently blew on the moth, and it flew from his palm, slipping through the crack in the window.
Inside the room, the moth flew to Lance Eliot’s bedside, flapping its wings rapidly. A white powder was released, and Lance Eliot unknowingly inhaled it.
Lance Eliot’s breathing immediately became steady, entering a deep sleep.
“Alright, we can go in now,” Leo said.
Leo, with Violet in tow, approached the room’s entrance. He gently pushed the door open, and they entered.
Soon, their eyes landed on the aluminum suitcase on the cabinet. Violet whispered, “Leo, the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade should be in this suitcase.”
Leo walked over, opened the suitcase, and a peculiar fragrance immediately wafted through the air-it was indeed the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade.
Closing the suitcase and lifting it in his hand, Leo grinned, “With the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade in hand, let’s go.”
Violet nodded, a mischievous smile playing on her face.
Exiting the room, closing the door quietly, they left the courtyard without a sound.
Luck was on their side during their return to their own residence; they weren’t spotted by anyone.
Under the maple tree in the courtyard, Jennifer had been waiting for the two. Seeing Leo coming in with a box in hand, she was momentarily dumbfounded.
She hadn’t expected the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade to be obtained so easily by Leo.
“Jennifer, we did it!” Violet clapped her hands. “I have to say, Leo is amazing, all sneaky and unnoticed. When those guys from the Flying Dragon Gang find out the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade is missing, Maple Leaf Inn might be turned upside down tomorrow.”
“A little chaos might be good. Since no one knows it’s us, let’s go to the Ghost Carving Sect’s yard and snatch the spiritual beast egg back. You heard it earlier; the Flying Dragon Gang wants to ambush the Ghost Carving Sect. Let’s add some fuel to the fire.” Leo didn’t mind doing things that harmed others for their own benefit.
Violet, already won over by Leo’s prowess, was more than willing to join him in such endeavors.
Leo handed the suitcase to Jennifer, and the two silently left the place.
In no time, they successfully infiltrated the courtyard where the Ghost Carving Sect stayed.
Channeling Spiritual Power into their eyes, Leo quickly located Gavin’s room. The Thunderwing Beast’s egg rested on a cushion inside.
Using the same technique, Leo created a moth from a talisman. After putting Gavin into a deep sleep, Leo and Violet quietly entered Gavin’s room.
After taking the Thunderwing Beast’s egg, they silently exited the room and then left the area, leaving everything undetected.
Back in their own courtyard, Violet, looking at the mystical egg, asked curiously, “Leo, do we need to put it in an incubator if we want to hatch the egg?”
“As long as the spiritual beast egg is intact and undamaged, simply placing it undisturbed for a specific period will automatically hatch it, and no human intervention is required,” Leo explained.
By shining a light through the eggshell, they could see that most of the nutrients inside the egg had been consumed. The form of the Thunderwing Beast cub had already taken shape. It wouldn’t be long before it hatched.
Violet blinked a couple of times and then said, “Leo, now that we have the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade and the spiritual beast egg, should we leave Maple Leaf Inn?”
Leo chuckled and shook his head, “Leaving now would be too obvious. Flying Dragon Gang and Ghost Carving Sect people will surely suspect us. If we leave, it should be in broad daylight tomorrow. Who knows, we might witness a good show.”
The next morning, just as the rooster crowed, a cry of astonishment rang out from the Flying Dragon Gang’s courtyard.
“The Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade, the Fragrance-Sensing Divine Jade is missing!” Lance Eliot’s face turned terrifyingly dark, and he smashed the square table in front of him with one palm.
