Bruno’s face twisted into a sinister smile. “Sophia, you’re too naive. Do you even know where you are? When that worthless dog Leo finds this place, you’ll probably be an ice sculpture by then.”
“In addition, after you disappear from this Earth, I promise that Leo, that waste of space, will follow you!” Bruno’s eyes gleamed with malice.
Fiona, her heart pounding, asked nervously, “Bruno, what do you want?”
“Isn’t it clear enough? I want you and Leo to vanish from this world!” Bruno, consumed by madness, turned to the two men behind him and declared, “Gentlemen, since I’ve been exposed, and since we’ve come this far, I want Leo dead now!”
The burlier of the two men questioned, “Bruno, are you sure about this?”
“Of course, if you can get rid of Leo, this woman can be your reward! You see, even though she’s been married to that scumbag for four years, she’s still a virgin.”
“Is that true?” The two men exchanged glances, their faces contorting with desire.
In today’s society, a virgin was rarer than a panda.
Bruno chuckled wickedly, “Real or not, you’ll find out when you check for yourselves.”
The burly man didn’t hesitate any longer. He nodded and said, “Alright, we’re in. We’ll take care of him when that waste shows up at our doorstep.”
Just as the burly man finished speaking, the warehouse’s large door creaked open slightly, emitting a faint “creak.”
“Who’s there?” The burly man and his companion immediately tensed up.
Due to the backlight, they couldn’t make out the newcomer’s face immediately.
But Sophia, sitting in a corner, recognized the person with joy and called out, “Leo!”
“Leo!?” It was only then that Bruno recognized Leo, and his heart skipped a beat. He hadn’t expected Leo to find this place so quickly.
The burly man and his companion rushed towards Leo.
After a few scuffles, both men ended up on the ground, clutching their bodies in pain.
As for Bruno, Leo kicked him hard, sending him crashing into the cold storage room’s wall before he slumped to the ground, seemingly unconscious.
Leo quickly untied Sophia, and she threw herself into his arms, holding him tightly. Though she had experienced kidnapping before, she was still terrified, fearing that she might never see Leo again.
Leo gently patted her back, comforting her with soothing words.
After parting from Sophia, Leo turned to the cold storage room door and shouted, “Bob, are the people outside taken care of?”
Bob walked in from outside and replied, “Everything has been sorted out.”
Leo nodded and took Sophia’s hand. “Let’s go.”
But as they stepped out of the cold storage, a frail voice suddenly rang out, “No one can leave here alive.”
The voice sounded peculiar, like it came from a faraway place yet whispered right in their ears.
Leo’s face tensed as he sensed the formidable power of the voice’s owner.
Suddenly, there was a blur, and an elderly man with silver-white hair appeared in front of them. The old man wore a long gray robe and black cloth shoes, looking unassuming.
Only Leo knew how terrifying this seemingly frail old man was.
Indeed, this old man was a martial practitioner, and his cultivation was at least at the peak of the upper-level martial general realm.
Leo estimated that in the realm of martial practitioners, upper-level martial generals were similar in strength to upper-level spiritualists in the realm of spiritual cultivation.
Currently, Leo was at the middle-level spiritualist realm, which was roughly equivalent to facing an upper-level spiritualist.
In the face of absolute strength, all means were futile, but Leo wouldn’t give in so easily.
Bob stepped forward, questioning sternly, “Who are you, and what are you doing here?”
The old man didn’t respond, he merely waved his right hand!
A loud “bang” was heard, and Bob’s body was struck as if by a heavy blow, and he spat out blood, flying to the side.
Bevis and Chasel rushed forward from the shadows, but the old man casually struck them twice, causing them to spew blood and remain lying on the ground, unable to get up.
The strength of a martial general was formidable!
Bob’s henchmen, upon seeing their leader beaten, brandished their weapons and charged toward the old man.
However, in less than sixty seconds, over twenty henchmen lay screaming on the ground.
They couldn’t even touch the old man’s clothes with their pipes and such.
The old man’s gaze fell on Leo again. “Kid, I should send you on your way.”
“Leo!” Sophia clung to Leo’s hand, frightened by the old man’s immense and terrifying combat prowess.
Leo released her hand and reassured her, saying, “Sophia, don’t be afraid. You stay aside, and I’ll deal with this old man.”
Though Sophia was worried, she understood that she couldn’t be of any help beside Leo, and she might only hinder him. So she obediently stepped aside.
Leo mobilized his inner Spiritual Power, his body flickered, and he threw a fierce punch toward the old man’s face.
If it were an ordinary person, Leo’s punch, if landed solidly, would have easily crushed their body.
But the old man wasn’t an ordinary person, and he didn’t even attempt to evade. He effortlessly struck back with a casual punch.
“Boom!”
The two forces collided with a horrifying sound.
Leo staggered back five or six steps, his arm in excruciating pain, and a metallic, tangy taste filled his mouth.
He recognized the taste of blood and swallowed hard, preventing the blood from flowing out of his mouth.
In contrast, the old man’s feet hadn’t moved an inch, and his face remained cold and indifferent, as if he were unwell.
“Kid, your strength is indeed impressive, but in front of me, you’re as weak as an ant. Dying by my hand is your privilege,” the old man declared.
After saying this, he transformed into a phantom, reappearing in front of Leo at breakneck speed, delivering a kick to Leo’s abdomen.
Leo was sent flying and, upon landing, spat out a large mouthful of blood.
“Leo!” Sophia cried out, rushing over to him.
She lifted Leo from the ground and pleaded with a mournful voice, “Please, stop!”
