“How can it be fine? My brother was sent to prison by Sophia and her worthless man,” Patrick’s voice dripped with resentment.
Bruno’s curiosity was piqued. “Mr. Gregory, if you have something to say, please get to the point.”
“Mr. Henley, you’re indeed a straightforward man. So, I’ll be frank. Sophia’s cosmetics company is getting too arrogant. I plan to unite with some bigwigs in the cosmetics market and make a big move. Are you interested?” Patrick’s tone turned determined.
“What exactly do you mean by ‘make a move’?”
“Mr. Henley, you must be aware of the current situation in the Langstel cosmetics market. Right now, Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company, Merano Group, and Sophia’s cosmetics company, the three of them together, have seized the majority of the market. If we want to survive, we must snatch our share from them.” Patrick’s tone turned ruthless.
Bruno had an inherent interest in anything related to Sophia, and he asked, “How do we do that?”
“Mr. Henley, as the future helmsman of the Henley family, joining forces, the two of us, for this significant move, we can certainly trample Sophia underfoot,” Patrick’s tone exuded confidence.
This proposal excited Bruno. Finally getting a chance to crush Sophia was exactly what he had been waiting for. “So, what do I need to do?”
Patrick paused for a moment, urging him, “To achieve something significant, there must be sacrifices. Mr. Henley, as far as I know, you still don’t have complete control over the Henley Group. If you can take full control, it will make things much easier.”
Patrick’s words struck a chord with Bruno. They had a soft spot. Bruno glanced around, ensuring no one was listening, then said in a hushed voice, “Of course, I want to take control of the Henley Group. But my Grandma is reluctant to let go. And Alvin, that wretched manager at Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company, only trusts Sophia. It’s impossible to undermine her.”
“Mr. Henley, to achieve great things, a man must be ruthless. Imagine this: once you become the Chairman of the Henley Group, the head of the Henley family, you will be able to control Sophia’s cosmetics company. Then, Alvin will have no choice but to respect you,” Patrick instigated.
Bruno fell into deep thought. Patrick’s words had tapped into his inner desires. His eyes glittered with determination. “What else can you tell me?”
“Mr. Henley, that’s all I can advise for now. As for how you choose to act, it’s up to you. I’ve already secured cooperation agreements with many bigwigs in the Langstel cosmetics industry. If you want a piece of the pie, you’re welcome to join us.”
Patrick’s words kept echoing in Bruno’s ears even after the call ended. To achieve something substantial, he realized that he had to be ruthless and willing to make sacrifices. Becoming the Chairman of the Henley Group and the head of the Henley family was rightfully his. The only obstacle was the old Mrs. Henley, and the only way to overcome that obstacle was to get rid of her.
Evil thoughts began to take root in Bruno’s mind.
Bruno even contemplated how to put this idea into practice, making sure it was executed flawlessly and appeared to be a mere accident. Only through such a plan could Bruno confidently seize power.
The old lady, since you’re unwilling to relinquish your position and authority, don’t blame me. Only when you’re out of the picture can I truly manage this family and have the opportunity to put Sophia under my heel!
Bruno’s heart raced, and he suddenly remembered that the old Mrs. Henley was planning a trip in a couple of days to attend a friend’s birthday celebration. If he could tamper with her car during the trip, causing a traffic accident…
Bruno couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement. This way, he thought, the blame wouldn’t fall on him, and nobody would suspect him. The wheels of an evil plan began to turn in his mind.
With his plan in mind, Bruno cast a cautious look around to ensure there was no one nearby. Satisfied that he was alone, he carefully headed toward the garage.
Having observed during his previous act of theft, Bruno knew that the security cameras in the garage area were malfunctioning. This allowed him to enter the garage without fear of being recorded.
Using a spare key, Bruno unlocked the car door and made a slight adjustment to the brakes. After over ten minutes, Bruno emerged from the garage. His heart pounded in his chest, his hands involuntarily trembling, and tiny beads of sweat dotted his forehead.
For the sake of his “great endeavor,” Bruno had a valid reason to do this. However, deep down, the old Mrs. Henley, Teresa, was his own grandmother. Suddenly, Bruno felt a pang of regret and fear for his actions.
Nevertheless, he quickly regained his determination. At this point, he no longer wanted to wait or possessed the patience to do so. Anyone who stood in his way would be eliminated.
Bruno wiped the sweat from his forehead with his right hand, his face now showing a mix of anticipation and malice. He could almost visualize Sophia and Leo, this couple he regarded as adversaries, kneeling before him, their pleas marked by tears and anguish.
Those who opposed him would have no pleasant fate, no matter who they were.
…
After dropping Sophia off at work, Leo proceeded to Heaven’s Extreme Stone to continue his cultivation. He had already reached the middle-level spiritualist master realm and needed to push further to the advanced level.
Once he entered the advanced-level spiritualist realm, he would be able to craft even more remarkable and potent elixirs.
Feeling the benefits of his practice, Leo sensed his progress, but he knew it would still take some time to reach the advanced level.
After his session at Heaven’s Extreme Stone, Leo decided to visit the Seven Stars Sword Sect. He planned to pay a visit and use the sect’s pharmacy to refine some elixirs.
Inside the Seven Stars Sword Sect’s Seven Stars Tower, Leo met Master Jennifer.
After a conversation with Master Jennifer to understand the current situation of the Seven Stars Sword Sect, Leo made his way to the pharmacy.
In the pharmacy, a blue-robed elder was meditating, sitting on a cushion with his eyes closed. Upon noticing someone entering, the elder’s eyes snapped open.
“Greetings, Honorable Sect Leader.” Recognizing Leo, the elder’s expression shifted slightly, and he promptly rose from his seat.
“Master Gibbon, you’ve been working hard,” Leo nodded. He then turned his gaze toward the elder. He was no stranger to the blue-robed elder. This elder was the one he had once held hostage in the library.
“The duties of this old man are hardly a matter of hardship, and the tranquility here allows me to meditate peacefully, as few visit this place,” the blue-robed elder, Master Gibbon replied.
