Leo pushed aside the middle-aged woman’s hand, shook his head at her, and then walked towards Antony with a frosty expression.
Antony, thinking Leo was coming to grovel at his feet, promptly spread his legs and wore a smug, wicked grin on his face.
Leo reached him and raised his right foot, delivering a solid kick to Antony’s crotch.
“Thud!”
Something seemed to shatter, and Antony’s expression contorted in an instant. After a two-second freeze, he clutched his crotch and let out a blood-curdling scream.
Leo’s kick likely rendered Antony’s ‘little buddy’ unusable in the future.
Leo’s move stunned Antony’s subordinates briefly. It was only after Antony screamed that they encircled Leo, preparing to beat him up.
Just then, the crowd parted, and a group of people rushed in.
“Mr. Bloomer, which idiot has the guts to mess with you like this?” Scar’s voice echoed.
Scar’s arrival surprised Leo. “Scar, what are you doing here?”
“I was in the area for something, and my men told me you were in trouble, so I rushed over,” Scar replied.
Scar’s presence provided a glimmer of hope for Antony, who was in agony. He desperately called out, “Scar, this punk hit me. Please help me teach him a lesson!”
Scar, visibly irritated, glanced at Antony and ordered his men, “Beat the hell out of this fool.”
Scar’s henchmen moved to Antony’s side, and punches and kicks rained down on him.
Antony’s own underlings dared not make a peep. Onlookers were petrified, many of them not knowing who Scar was, but they gathered that this scar-faced guy was way more dangerous than Antony.
“Scar, why are you attacking me? I didn’t do anything to you!” Antony kept crying out.
Scar waved his hand, and his men immediately ceased the assault, dispersing.
Scar walked up to Antony and said coldly, “Antony, you’ve got some nerve to piss off even Mr. Bloomer!”
“Mr. Bloomer?” Antony turned to Leo, terrified. Although he didn’t fully grasp Leo’s background, the fact that someone like Scar held him in high regard indicated Leo’s formidable status.
Antony had truly hit the jackpot of bad luck!
While Antony might be a tough guy, he paled in comparison to Scar.
“Mr. Bloomer, I’m sorry. I was blind to offend you. Please spare me,” Antony quickly knelt in front of Leo and began to beg for mercy.
Antony was well aware that as long as Leo let this go, Scar would release him.
This sudden turn of events made the onlookers reassess Leo. Antony’s desperate plea revealed that this young man was no ordinary person.
The crowd started speculating about Leo’s identity.
“Who would’ve thought this young man is so formidable that even Antony had to kneel and beg him? I wonder what astonishing background he has.”
“Today’s incident proves an old saying: never judge a book by its cover.”
“Antony, who was so arrogant and domineering, is in for a tough lesson today. It’s quite satisfying!”
Amid the murmurs of the crowd, Leo turned and walked up to the middle-aged woman, offering her reassurance. “You saw it too, my friend is more capable than Antony. So don’t be afraid. If this lady falsely accused you of stealing her money, you can now speak out without fear. Nobody will harm you, and I’ll stand up for you.”
Scar also approached, looking at the middle-aged woman. “Go on, with me here, Antony won’t dare touch you.”
The middle-aged woman couldn’t help but steal a glance at the wealthy lady. The wealthy lady noticed her gaze and gave her a fierce glare, shouting, “My money didn’t just vanish into thin air. This woman is the thief!”
“Do you want to live with the label of a thief forever? If you don’t prove your innocence, no company will ever hire you again. How will you survive in this society?” Leo added.
Leo’s words struck a chord with the middle-aged woman. She didn’t want to be falsely accused, nor did she want to carry the thief’s stigma. With determination, she said, “When I was cleaning this lady’s house, I saw her bring a young man home, and it was that man who took the money!”
This revelation left the wealthy lady pale with shock. She had indeed brought a young man home this morning while Antony was away. She thought the middle-aged woman hadn’t noticed, and even if she had, she wouldn’t dare speak up. But not only had she spoken up, she did it publicly!
Hearing the middle-aged woman’s words, Antony sprung up from the ground and pointed angrily at the well-dressed lady. “You audacious woman! You dared to cheat on me behind my back!”
The lady, in panic, hastily explained, “It’s not like that, I didn’t… She’s lying, she’s falsely accusing me!”
Leo looked at the middle-aged woman and asked, “Do you have any evidence?”
“In our line of work, we are always afraid of losing something valuable in the owner’s home. When I saw a stranger enter, I took precautions and discreetly snapped a photo.” The middle-aged woman took out her phone, opened the gallery, and handed it to Leo. Leo then presented the phone to the wealthy lady, sneering, “Still want to accuse her?”
The lady’s face turned ashen, and she nearly fainted.
Antony, seething with anger, slapped the well-dressed lady. “You dare to betray me behind my back! I work tirelessly to provide for you, and you dare to use my money to fool around with other men! You shameless woman, I’ll beat some sense into you!”
Having spoken, Antony delivered another resounding slap to the well-dressed lady.
Her face instantly swelled up, and she covered it with her hand, desperately pleading, “Darling, I was wrong. I’ll never do it again. Please spare me.”
People like Antony valued their reputation above all else. With an audience watching, his wife had betrayed him. How could he tolerate it? He kicked the well-dressed lady to the ground.
Onlookers couldn’t believe the turn of events. If they weren’t afraid of Antony, they would have burst into laughter. From this day forward, Antony would become the laughingstock of the neighborhood, a fitting end.
Leo wasn’t planning to let Antony and his wife off easily. He turned to Antony and said, “Now that the truth has been clarified, should you apologize to the person you wronged?”
Leo’s words jolted Antony, and he quickly dragged the well-dressed lady to kneel in front of the middle-aged woman, shouting, “Apologize quickly. This is embarrassing, you’ve made me lose face.”
