Another crisp snap echoed as the man’s elbow was bent at an abnormal angle by Leo’s hand. A pitiful scream escaped the man’s mouth, sending shivers down everyone’s spine.
After Leo released his grip, the man’s right arm hung limply as he knelt on the ground, his body trembling from the pain.
Everyone was in shock, staring wide-eyed at the man on his knees, momentarily forgetting to breathe. They never expected a freeloading son-in-law to be this ruthless, incapacitating a burly man in the blink of an eye.
“Now I’m giving you a chance to tell the truth. If you don’t cherish this opportunity, I won’t mind sending you to your grave!” Leo’s voice was cold and emotionless, reaching the ears of everyone present.
The onlookers exchanged bewildered glances, not understanding why Leo resorted to such brutality. Was it just to set an example?
Sophia, though equally puzzled, didn’t question Leo’s actions. She knew he must have had a reason for doing this.
“I’ve said it before, my girlfriend is the victim here, and I’m here to seek justice for her!” The man gritted his teeth against the pain, his voice defiant.
Leo slapped him down with a powerful blow. “Scum, acting tough even at death’s door. Since you won’t confess, don’t blame me.”
Leo then took out a silver needle case from his body and carefully extracted three silver needles, which he expertly inserted into three acupoints on the man’s body.
An excruciating pain spread throughout the man’s body, as if millions of needles were piercing him simultaneously.
“What have you done to me? Stop it, please!” The man’s twisted expression reflected his agony.
Leo sneered, “Enjoying the sensation of being barely alive, aren’t you? You’ll endure this pain for three days and nights until you die.”
The man’s agonized expression turned into one of terror. After experiencing the torment of the needles, he felt as if countless ants were gnawing at his body. Even if he were made of iron, he wouldn’t be able to endure this pain.
“Mercy, please, have mercy! I’ll confess everything!” The man begged, his face contorted by suffering.
Leo, hearing this, knelt down and removed one of the silver needles from the man’s body. The pain in that area eased slightly, prompting the man to speak hurriedly, “It was Spring Wind Cosmetics! They ordered me to do it!”
Upon hearing this, Sophia, who stood nearby, frowned deeply. She didn’t understand why Spring Wind Cosmetics was involved in this.
Leo turned to the onlookers and announced loudly, “You’ve all heard what this guy said. It was Spring Wind Cosmetics behind this, and it has nothing to do with Sophia Cosmetics.”
“But we bought makeup products from Spring Wind Cosmetics, not Sophia Cosmetics.”
“You didn’t see what this freeloading son-in-law did earlier? He probably collaborated with this guy to deceive us and absolve Sophia Cosmetics of guilt!”
“That makes sense. They might be tricking us into letting Sophia Cosmetics off the hook!”
The crowd’s skepticism irritated Leo. He forcefully lifted the man from the ground, his anger apparent as he demanded, “Tell them everything, now!”
After enduring the excruciating pain, and under Leo’s intimidation, the man dared not resist any longer. He reluctantly explained, “It was Larry Longman from the Merano Group and Ford Gregory from Spring Wind Cosmetics. They paid me to infiltrate your group, stir up trouble, and, if possible, damage Sophia Cosmetics.”
“What the hell, what were you supposed to do?” someone demanded loudly.
The man braced himself and said, “They paid me to blend in with you guys, incite trouble, and preferably sabotage Sophia Cosmetics.”
Leo’s voice grew stern as he questioned, “Did Ford Gregory and this Larry Longman instruct you on the cosmetics issue?”
The man hesitated for a moment and replied, “I don’t know about the cosmetics issue. My assignment was to incite a riot and disrupt your group. I don’t know anything else.”
“Freeloading scum, did you hear that? This guy was just sent here to cause trouble and create chaos. The cosmetics are still sold by Sophia Cosmetics!”
“We almost got misled by this worthless son-in-law. The problems on our faces are ultimately due to the cosmetics. If your wife doesn’t give us an explanation, we won’t let it slide!”
After the man had confessed everything, Leo had a clear understanding. Since this troublemaker was sent by Spring Wind Cosmetics, the allergic reactions to the cosmetics must be the work of Ford Gregory and Larry Longman.
Seeing the anger of the crowd unabated, Sophia nervously held Leo’s hand and suggested, “Leo, maybe you could help the people with allergic reactions.”
Leo contemplated for a moment and then addressed the crowd loudly, “Everyone, getting into a heated argument won’t help in this situation. I propose two solutions. First, for those experiencing allergic reactions on their faces, I can restore them to their original condition. Second, you can give me the cosmetics you purchased, and I will have them tested by an authoritative agency to ensure fairness.”
“But why should we trust you?” a woman in the crowd retorted.
Without the man who had been inciting them earlier, people started to think more rationally.
Leo looked at the woman and confidently said, “Because I can make your acne disappear and leave your skin even more radiant!”
Leo’s confident words caused whispers among the crowd. The woman who had been skeptical earlier asked with a hopeful tone, “Is what you’re saying true?”
“Absolutely true. If I can’t cure the acne caused by the allergic reaction, you can kill me right here,” Leo’s tone brooked no doubt.
With Leo’s assurance, the woman stepped forward, saying, “Alright, I’ll let you treat me. If it doesn’t work, I won’t let you off the hook.”
At that moment, Lydia rushed out of the company building and whispered something in Sophia’s ear. Sophia’s expression changed, and she felt uneasy.
Freeman Hospital, after understanding the situation, refused to send doctors to help, even though Sophia Cosmetics was willing to pay a high price. Now, all hope of resolving this conflict rested solely on Leo’s shoulders.
