Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

Dr. Rudolph gave Nick and Rosemary a stern look and said coldly, “Rosemary, Nick, apologize to Dr. Bloomer right now!”
Nick hesitated for a moment, reluctantly stood up from his chair, and addressed Leo, “Leo, I’m sorry…”
“How do you address him?” Nick’s words were cut short as Dr. Rudolph couldn’t bear it and slapped him on the back of the head, demanding, “Apologize with sincerity!”
Under the intimidating gaze of his mentor, Nick’s face turned red, and he tried to offer a more respectful apology, “Dr. Bloomer, I shouldn’t have said those things to you at the company. I’m sorry, please forgive me.”
“Rosemary!” Dr. Rudolph called out when he noticed Rosemary sitting there without moving.
Rosemary suddenly stood up from her chair, without looking at Leo, she muttered with a hint of reluctance, “I’m sorry.”
“Leo, Miss Fanny has been spoiled since she was a child,” Dr. Rudolph said with a smile while looking at Leo. “Please forgive them for my sake.”
Leo waved his hand, “To be honest, I didn’t take that incident to heart, so there’s nothing to forgive.”
Seeing how easy-going Leo was, Dr. Rudolph finally relaxed a bit. He then made a request, “Leo, today there has been another case of an employee going insane at Rosemary’s company. I would like to ask for your help in checking it out. Would you mind?”
In Leo’s presence, Dr. Rudolph didn’t display his typical traditional Chinese medicine authority; instead, he appeared eager to please. This made Leo appreciate him even more. If Dr. Rudolph had been stubborn and condescending, Leo would have left already.
Leo glanced at Rosemary and chuckled, “Dr. Rudolph, I’d like to help, but Miss Fanny made it clear that her company doesn’t welcome me. I don’t want to embarrass myself by going to Miss Fanny’s company.”
Leo didn’t want to make things difficult for Rosemary; he just wanted to teach her a lesson. He had no qualms about challenging arrogant and haughty women.
Dr. Rudolph, an experienced man, could easily discern the underlying meaning in Leo’s words. He quickly signaled to Rosemary and urged her, “Rosemary, this is a matter concerning your company. Don’t you want to speak up?”
Rosemary truly despised Leo at this point. What he had said earlier had been so grating to her ears. This guy was blatantly trying to make her beg him!
As a proud woman who had always disliked men, Rosemary didn’t want to plead with Leo. However, for the sake of her company and her career, she had no choice but to do so.
Biting her lip seductively, Rosemary reluctantly said the words she didn’t want to say, “Leo, I apologize for my attitude towards you that day at the office. Please help me resolve the issues in my company.”
A true businessman was someone who could negotiate in all situations. Rosemary, who had worked in the business world, understood the importance of adaptability. However, despite what she said, she had no intention of letting Leo off the hook. She promised herself that she would find a way to torment him if given the chance.
Seeing the stubborn Miss Fanny yield, Leo couldn’t help but curve a smirk on his lips. He felt a sense of triumph in conquering her.
Leo, however, didn’t intend to push her too far. After finishing their meal, Leo led the group to an antique street and then to a store selling Feng Shui items. He purchased nine copper coins, a small peachwood sword, and a bundle of perforated spirit money.
With the items in hand, they headed to Rosemary’s company. On the way, Brandon shared with Leo what the property management staff had told him.
Leo suddenly realized why he hadn’t sensed anything unusual when he was in the office that day. It turned out that the person had died outside the window.
Upon entering the employees’ office, Leo placed the nine copper coins in different positions and then stood in the center, holding the peachwood sword.
He channeled his inner energy, forming his right hand into a sword shape, and slid it along the blade of the peachwood sword. He then reversed his grip, holding the sword hilt with both hands and thrust it forcefully into the ground.
“Bang!”
A crisp sound echoed in the office, like the sound of breaking glass. After the sound, the nine copper coins placed in different locations simultaneously stood upright and began spinning rapidly.
Dr. Rudolph and the others were in awe, their mouths agape. Brandon looked at Leo with admiration, thinking that he had encountered a true expert today, and one who was so young at that.
Leo used the peachwood sword to string together the perforated spirit money on the ground. He then extended the sword out of the window, and the spirit money fluttered into the air, instantly igniting and turning into ashes, dissipating in the wind.
At this moment, Nick noticed that one of the copper coins on the ground near him had suddenly stopped spinning and had broken into two halves. Two out of the remaining eight coins had also split in two, leaving only six lying still on the ground.
Nick swallowed nervously and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
Leo retrieved the peachwood sword from outside the window, collected the copper coins from the ground, and said to Rosemary, “Miss Fanny, the matter has been resolved. You can now call those employees who were affected and see if they are back to normal.”
Hearing Leo’s words, Rosemary’s face was still pale, as if she hadn’t fully recovered from the scene she had witnessed moments ago. It was only after Dr. Rudolph cleared his throat a couple of times that she absentmindedly reached for her phone.
However, before Rosemary could make a call, her phone rang. It was her secretary calling.
She answered the call, and the secretary’s voice came through the phone, sounding excited, “Miss Fanny, his illness suddenly improved. The doctor just finished examining him, and he suddenly regained consciousness, showing no signs of insanity anymore.”
Reality hit Rosemary hard. She hung up the phone, put it down, and looked at Leo with disbelief. Her cherry lips were slightly parted, and her eyes displayed a complex mix of emotions.
Then she asked her secretary to call the other two employees’ family.
The results were the same.
Now Rosemary was certain that Leo had indeed resolved the issue.
Brandon looked at Leo with admiration and said, “Today, I’ve truly broadened my horizons. Young man, you’re a true expert. If I’m not mistaken, what you just performed is the ‘Coins Dispelling Negative Energy,’ isn’t it?”
“Dr. White has a discerning eye. Indeed, it’s ‘Coins Dispelling Negative Energy.’ I’m just a humble practitioner,” Leo replied with a smile.
