“Nana, this Leo, this waste, is just too despicable. He’s just a door-to-door son-in-law attached to our Henley family. Why is he so arrogant!? We must find a way to deal with him!” The consecutive blows left Fanny frustrated.
The old Mrs. Henley had a grim expression and walked silently with her cane towards the entrance of the Cloud Dream Mountain villa area. She was feeling very upset now, and she just wanted to leave this place as soon as possible.
Once everyone had left, only Leo, Sophia, Jessica, and Martin remained in the living room.
The departure of the old Mrs. Henley made Jessica feel like she was in charge again. She inspected the house upstairs and then returned to the living room. She said to Sophia, “Darling, from now on, your father and I will stay in the master bedroom, and you and Leo will stay in the guest room. And also your sister. What do you think?”
In theory, Leo had purchased the villa, so it should have been him and Sophia in the master bedroom. However, Jessica seemed determined to occupy it herself.
“Mom…”
“No need to say anything; this decision is final. Martin, let’s go back now and pack our things. We’ll call a moving company to move us in today!”
Regarding matters of daily life, Martin had never been assertive, and he always followed Jessica’s lead. After giving Sophia and Leo a glance, he followed Jessica out of the villa.
“Leo, about the bedroom…” Sophia furrowed her brow and looked at Leo.
Leo didn’t mind whether they slept in the master bedroom or the guest room. As long as he could sleep with Sophia, he was willing to sleep anywhere, even in a barn. So he smiled at Sophia and said, “It’s fine. Let your parents stay in the master bedroom.”
Sophia’s eyes filled with a mix of smiles and gratitude. Leo took Sophia’s hand and said, “I want to take you somewhere.”
“Where to?”
“Behind the villa, to the hot springs!”
…
Healnature Clinic, second floor, in the meeting room.
“Brandon, it’s been about four years since we last met, hasn’t it?” Dr. Rudolph smiled at the old man sitting across from him.
The old man was named Brandon White, a good friend of Dr. Rudolph’s. He had arrived in Langstel by plane last night, rested for a night, and had now come to Healnature Clinic to catch up with Dr. Rudolph.
Brandon squinted and smiled, “It’s been three months, so almost four years.”
In the meeting room, besides Dr. Rudolph and Brandon, Rosemary and Nick were also present.
As a cell phone rang, Rosemary apologetically excused herself to answer it. She received the call from her female secretary, who sounded urgent, “Miss Fanny, something serious has happened again. Another one of the company’s employees has gone insane!”
“What did you say?” Rosemary’s expression changed drastically. She felt dizzy and unsteady on her feet.
Nick noticed Rosemary’s strange expression and asked with concern, “Rosemary, what’s wrong?”
After hanging up the phone, Rosemary took a while to recover and returned to her seat. She rubbed her temples and then explained what had happened.
Dr. Rudolph and Brandon listened attentively, their faces showing a hint of strangeness.
“It’s really strange. Mental illness isn’t contagious, so why are these incidents happening one after another?” Dr. Rudolph pondered.
Brandon contemplated for a moment and said, “Dr. Rudolph, I have a suspicion.”
“What’s your suspicion? Please, go on,” Dr. Rudolph urged.
“These incidents might not be related to any illness but could involve Feng Shui and metaphysical factors,” Brandon expressed in a cryptic manner.
Brandon’s ancestors had been involved in the field of Feng Shui and metaphysics, so he was not surprised by such supernatural occurrences. In fact, he had encountered quite a few mysterious events in his lifetime.
Nick understood Brandon’s implication and said hesitantly, “Dr. White, it shouldn’t be what you’re suggesting. I’ve treated a patient before…”
Before Nick could finish his sentence, Dr. Rudolph interrupted, “Nick, stop talking!”
Dr. Rudolph knew what line of work Brandon was involved in, and their decades-long friendship made him trust Brandon’s judgment. Moreover, during his many years as a doctor, Dr. Rudolph had encountered numerous unexplainable incidents and phenomena that couldn’t be accounted for by medical science alone. Even though he considered himself a materialist, he couldn’t help but maintain a sense of awe towards certain things.
As for Rosemary, she had never believed in supernatural phenomena, but now, with Brandon’s suggestion, she couldn’t help but entertain the idea. After all, the unexplained behavior of her employees was incredibly eerie.
Additionally, Rosemary couldn’t help but think of Leo and his previous mention of a death in the office.
After contemplating for a moment, Dr. Rudolph said to Nick, “Nick, please call the two employees who had previously gone insane and see how they’re doing now.”
Nick immediately took out his phone and called the families of the two affected employees.
Soon, Nick received the results. Both employees hadn’t improved; instead, their episodes of insanity had become more frequent.
After ending the call, Nick’s face turned pale, and the memory of Leo’s words that day flooded his mind, making it hard for him to breathe.
Sensing the increasingly oppressive atmosphere, Brandon offered, “Dr. Rudolph, I’d like to visit Rosemary’s company. If it’s indeed related to Feng Shui, I might be able to help.”
“Brandon, I appreciate it. Let’s go,” Dr. Rudolph agreed.
With an old friend offering assistance, Dr. Rudolph was more than willing.
The four of them didn’t waste any more time and headed to Rosemary’s company.
Inside Rosemary’s company, after obtaining Rosemary’s permission, her secretary had given all employees in the office a day off and had sent the affected employees to the hospital. If this inexplicable madness continued, not only would it lead to the scare among employees, but no one would be willing to return to work.
After entering the office, Brandon carefully examined the surroundings. Even after using the geomantic techniques passed down in his family, he found nothing unusual.
Puzzled, Brandon turned to Rosemary and said, “Rosemary, can you bring the property management of this commercial building here? I’d like to ask them some questions.”
Rosemary nodded in agreement and immediately called the property management.
About ten minutes later, two employees from the building’s property management office entered the office. Upon hearing that it was related to Rosemary’s company, they became nervous. After all, if such incidents were publicized, it would tarnish their property management company’s reputation.
Brandon directly asked the two property management employees, “Did you hire a Feng Shui expert to assess this commercial building before it was constructed?”
