It’s like an elephant encountering a few noisy ants, the elephant can’t be bothered to step on them as long as these clowns don’t cross Leo’s bottom line. The more genuinely powerful one is, the more low-key they tend to be.
Karen, hearing every word of the surrounding mockery, secretly glanced at Leo. She thought Leo would be angry, but to her surprise, his face remained calm and as serene as a mirror. This composed demeanor intrigued Karen.
She quickly averted her gaze, not daring to look again.
As they approached Starlight World, Dina snuggled into Franklin’s arms and coquettishly said, “Honey, tonight, all my old classmates are here. You have to enjoy the night with them. Don’t drive back after the party; I’ll call a driver to pick us up.”
Franklin hugged Dina’s waist, brushed her nose with his finger, and chuckled, “Darling, your classmates are mine too. We won’t leave sober tonight. Ha-ha…”
The two of them continued to display affection as they led the way into the elevator. Leo and his two friends, along with the other male and female classmates, also entered the elevator.
On the sixth floor was the luxurious VIP room of Starlight World. As soon as they pushed the door open, Dina assumed the demeanor of a high-society lady and loudly declared, “Dear classmates, my husband has covered everything here today. All you need to do is enjoy yourselves to the fullest!”
Starlight World was a high-end entertainment and leisure club in Langstel, where you could find everything for eating, drinking, and having fun.
The classmates who had arrived early immediately gathered around Dina, and the sound of flattery filled the air. After the flattery, everyone began to enjoy themselves. Some indulged in delicious snacks, some played drinking games, and others sang karaoke.
Dina and Franklin sat on the sofa, constantly displaying their affection, proclaiming to everyone how happy she was to be married to Franklin.
Meanwhile, Sophia, Leo and Karen, completely ignored, were left on the side with no indication of a birthday celebration for Sophia.
The reason Dina had Karen invite Sophia was simple: she wanted Sophia to play a supporting role to highlight how well her own life was going as the main character. At the same time, she wanted those classmates who had previously shown interest in Sophia to see that they had been mistaken and that Dina was the one they should admire.
The atmosphere in the private room made Karen feel a bit uncomfortable and awkward, especially since she was the one who had suggested Sophia come to the gathering today.
“Sophia, Karen, you two go ahead and enjoy yourselves. I’ll go to the restroom,” Leo said as he stood up and opened the door of the private room.
In fact, there was a restroom inside the private room, but Leo used it as an excuse to look around. He had noticed the azure cloud logo on the billboard when they entered the Starlight World Entertainment Club. This indicated that Starlight World was a subsidiary of the Azure Cloud Group. Leo wondered who the owner was.
He went to the seventh floor, circled through several corridors, and found the general manager’s office.
Standing outside, Leo knocked on the door.
“Come in,” a male voice inside the office said.
Leo pushed the door open.
The office was lavishly decorated, and a man about Leo’s age was sitting behind a large desk. He had his feet up on the desk, a cigar in his mouth, and was flipping through a magazine.
It was none other than Gerald Donne, the man Leo had previously confronted harshly at the restaurant.
Gerald raised his eyes, and when he saw Leo walk in, he trembled. His cigar fell to the floor.
He quickly put down the magazine and got up from his boss’s chair, stuttering, “Mr. Bloomer… How did you come here…?”
“Gerald, it’s been a while, and it seems you’ve been living quite comfortably,” Leo said as he walked over and took a seat on the visitor’s sofa.
Gerald rushed over to pour tea for Leo. “Mr. Bloomer, I feel extremely honored that you’ve visited Starlight World. Do you want to do something fun? I promise to satisfy you!”
Leo took a sip of the tea Gerald handed him and calmly said, “Gerald, no need to be nervous. I’m not here to cause trouble. I need you to help me with something.”
“What is it, Mr. Bloomer? Please tell me; I guarantee to handle it properly,” Gerald assured, patting his chest.
Leo pointed to the floor. “On the sixth floor, VIP Room 6, prepare a birthday banquet. Additionally, in half an hour, I want to see 999 roses and a large birthday cake.”
Gerald was momentarily taken aback. Then he asked curiously, “Mr. Bloomer, is a friend celebrating their birthday here?”
“There are things you don’t need to know. Just do as I say,” Leo replied, giving Gerald a stern look.
Gerald immediately said, “Alright, Mr. Bloomer, I’ll arrange it right away.”
After giving his instructions to Gerald, Leo left his office and went back downstairs to VIP Room 6.
Inside the room, some male classmates who were getting tipsy were surrounding Sophia.
“Sophia, my campus goddess, I’ve been deeply captivated by you since the first time I saw you.”
“Sophia, you’re so beautiful. Why did you marry a useless man? How about divorcing that useless guy? I… I’ll marry you… I’ll never despise you. I’ll treat you well for a lifetime… Come, let’s drink!”
“Campus goddess, I heard that the useless husband has some physical problems. He hasn’t touched you in four years. This widow-like marriage must be lonely. I’ll toast to you!”
Watching these drunk male classmates get closer and closer to her, Sophia felt a sense of repulsion. She kept retreating, refusing, “You’re all drunk. Get away, or I’ll start cursing!”
Karen protected Sophia, warning them, “Don’t make a scene here. When Leo sees you behaving like this, you’ll be in trouble.”
“Hah, a useless leech. We’re not afraid of him!”
Those men didn’t take Karen’s words seriously.
Dina, sitting on the side, saw all the male students gathering around Sophia once again. Her jealousy flared up, and she gritted her teeth, looking at Franklin. “Honey, look at these guys…”
Franklin understood Dina’s meaning. He raised her chin with his hand and smirked, “Darling, don’t be angry. Since your male classmates like Sophia so much, why don’t we make their day?”
Dina immediately caught on to Franklin’s plan, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes. She sweetly said, “Honey, you’re so clever!”
After praising Franklin, Dina called a server inside the room and asked them to bring a bottle of 1982 Lafite Rothschild.
