“Bruno, you shameless scoundrel!” A booming shout echoed through the meeting room.
All eyes turned to the source of the voice, and they saw Leo standing at the entrance of the meeting room.
A powerful sense of oppression filled the room, making everyone feel as though they were in an icy cavern.
Leo’s sudden appearance left Bruno and Fanny wide-eyed in terror.
Both of them had the same thought: had Leo discovered their involvement in Sophia’s kidnapping?
But upon further reflection, it didn’t make sense. They had received a successful message from the kidnappers, indicating that everything had gone as planned. Leo shouldn’t know who had kidnapped Sophia.
This must be a bluff. Leo was definitely bluffing!
Bruno and Fanny exchanged glances as Bruno regained his composure. He slammed the table and stood up, pointing angrily at Leo. “Leo, who do you think you are? This is the Henley family’s meeting room, not a place for you to act recklessly!”
Suddenly, everyone’s vision blurred for a moment, and when they blinked, they realized Leo had moved from the entrance to standing right in front of Bruno.
Leo’s right hand shot out, grabbing Bruno by the throat. His eyes were filled with murderous intent as he said in a measured tone, “Trash, where have you taken Sophia? If so much as a hair on her head is harmed, I’ll f***ing kill you!”
Bruno struggled to breathe, his face turning beet red. He knew that Leo must suspect him of being involved in Sophia’s kidnapping since he had come here. But if he didn’t admit it, Leo wouldn’t dare to kill him in front of all these people.
Bruno managed to squeeze out words from his constricted throat, “Leo, I have no idea what you’re talking about. You’re like a rabid dog. If you dare to kill me in front of Grandma, you’ll be waiting for a firing squad!”
“Dare to harm Sophia, and I don’t care if you’re the king of heaven. I’ll still kill you!” Leo’s anger raged, and his overwhelming presence silenced the entire room.
The old Mrs. Henley, Teresa, rose from her seat with her cane, her face darkening as she addressed Leo, “Leo, you’d better not forget your place. Speak reasonably, and release Bruno.”
“Speak reasonably?” Leo glared at Teresa with a cold gaze. “Your grandson hired someone to kidnap Sophia. She’s now missing, and if anything happens to her, I’ll make sure all of you join her in the grave!”
Bruno’s pupils constricted. Leo seemed to genuinely know about Sophia’s kidnapping. Regardless, Bruno couldn’t admit it. With great effort, he changed the subject, saying, “Leo, you’re not only a loser but also a thief. You stole money for Fanny to buy cars for Sophia!”
Stole to buy cars?
What on earth?
Leo kicked Bruno to the ground. He had no intention of touching someone as filthy as Bruno.
Encouraged by Bruno, one of the Henley family relatives stood up, anger in his voice. “Leo, we’ve seen the surveillance video of the dowry theft. You have absolutely no shame. If you dare to cause trouble here, I’ll call the police and have you arrested!”
“Mom, I think there’s no need for family discipline for Leo. We should just call the police and have him face legal consequences.”
“We absolutely can’t tolerate someone as unscrupulous as this. Otherwise, it’s like keeping a tiger at home. He must be expelled from the family!”
Regarding the theft, people began to speak out against Leo, ignoring the possibility of Sophia’s kidnapping.
Leo didn’t expect these Henley family relatives to worry about Sophia. He knew that many of them were supporters of Bruno. Even if Sophia were torn to pieces by the kidnappers, it wouldn’t trouble their consciences.
Leo certainly wouldn’t allow Bruno to divert his attention. As Bruno tried to get up, Leo stepped on his chest, pinning him down. “Bruno, I’ll give you one last chance. Tell me where Sophia is, or I’ll crush you like a cockroach.”
Teresa was afraid that Leo would lose control and harm Bruno. She shouted, “Leo, stop it! If you dare to harm Bruno in front of me, I won’t spare you!”
“Leo, you useless piece of crap, let go!” Sean tried to rush up to hit Leo, but Leo’s intimidating gaze stopped him in his tracks.
At this moment, Jessica and Martin burst into the meeting room. When they saw Leo, Jessica immediately screamed, “Leo, you damn bastard, what happened to Sophia?”
Karen had informed them about Sophia’s kidnapping, and upon hearing that Leo had come to the Henley family estate, they rushed over immediately.
After Jessica’s outburst, she saw that Leo was just coldly staring at her and immediately lunged at him.
“Why was Sophia kidnapped? It must be because you, this useless waste, offended someone, and they took Sophia! You worthless piece of trash, I’ll kill you!”
Jessica raised her right hand, aiming a slap at Leo’s face. However, her wrist was swiftly caught by Leo like lightning.
Jessica felt the terrifying strength in Leo’s grip, rendering her immobile.
“Just because you’re Sophia’s mother, I’ll address you as ‘Mom,’ but that doesn’t give you the right to act out on me! I’m more worried about Sophia than you are. Don’t cause chaos here. Go sit somewhere else.”
With a flick of his right hand, Leo sent Jessica stumbling backward several steps. Faced with Leo’s murderous gaze, Jessica dared not lay a hand on him again.
Karen quickly rushed over and restrained Jessica. “Aunt, Sophia’s situation has nothing to do with Leo. Please don’t panic. He’s doing everything he can to find Sophia.”
Jessica sobbed uncontrollably and sat on the ground.
The Henley family members exchanged confused glances, stunned. Could it be that Leo hadn’t come here today to cause a scene but had genuinely discovered Sophia’s kidnapping?
Well, even if Sophia had been kidnapped, what did it have to do with them? They remained silent.
After a bout of crying, Jessica got up from the ground and knelt in front of Teresa, pleading, “Mom, Sophia is your granddaughter. You must find a way to save her, I beg you…”
Jessica and Martin’s appearance made Teresa realize the seriousness of the situation. She looked at Jessica coldly and asked, “What exactly happened? Everything was fine, so why was Sophia kidnapped?”
“I don’t know. The kidnappers haven’t called yet. Could they have harmed Sophia?” Jessica’s fear grew as she thought about it, causing her to cry even harder.
Hearing this, suspicion flickered in Teresa’s eyes. “Today, we were discussing Leo’s theft of the money sent to our family on my birthday. First, Leo barged in and attacked Bruno, and now you’re causing a scene. Jessica, could you and your useless son-in-law be putting on an act?”
