In the current situation, Leo knew that any further explanation would be futile. It would only further alienate Sophia, so he agreed, saying, “Sophia, since you want me to go back to my room to sleep, I will do that. But I’ll still drop you off at work and pick you up.”
“Leo, stop pretending here. Do you think my Sophia is a three-year-old child?”
Ignoring Jessica’s taunts, Leo turned and headed towards the stairs.
“You worthless piece of trash! You dare to ignore me . Do the cooking for me!” Jessica pointed at Leo’s back and shouted.
“I won’t!” Leo coldly retorted and slammed the bedroom door shut with a bang, locking it behind him.
“Rebel, he’s really rebelling now!” Jessica fumed, but she was helpless.
Locked inside his room, Leo felt miserable. He had thought that Sophia would trust him, but now he realized he had been too optimistic. This incident highlighted a lack of trust between them that was not as unbreakable as he had believed.
Women, when they get angry, explanations are useless, and reasoning with them is even less effective. They can shut you down with three words: “I don’t listen.”
Never mind, Leo thought. He didn’t want to dwell on this. He decided to take advantage of this time to draw some talismans.
Unfortunately, Leo’s unease prevented him from completing the talismans successfully. He couldn’t even create a single Level 1 talisman.
That night, Leo couldn’t sleep.
On the other hand, in Sophia’s bedroom, she sat on the edge of her bed and couldn’t help but shed tears. Her heart was in turmoil. Leo had admitted going to Dreamland, a place where men went to vent their desires. What else could he have done there?
Wait a minute, vent… Could it be that because she hadn’t allowed Leo to touch her in the four years they had been together, he couldn’t take it anymore and had gone to Dreamland to satisfy his physical needs?
Even if that were the case, Leo had still betrayed her. The more Sophia thought about it, the more wronged she felt. Over this period, Leo had made his way deep into her heart, and she had intended to give herself to him completely. But now, at this crucial moment, why did this have to happen?
Or maybe Leo hadn’t betrayed her. Maybe he had gone to Dreamland for some other reason. He was knowledgeable in medicine, so perhaps he had gone to help someone there?
Thinking about this, Sophia felt a little relieved, and she regretted jumping to conclusions and blaming Leo.
Regardless, Leo had been sent back to his own room. Sophia had her sense of propriety as a woman, and she wouldn’t call Leo over for a detailed explanation, considering the circumstances. Tonight, Sophia was also sleepless. She was used to sleeping alone, but today she actually felt that the room was empty, and her heart was empty, too.
The next day, after getting ready, Leo skipped breakfast and stood by the Audi A8, waiting for Sophia to come out.
After half an hour, Sophia emerged.
Today, Sophia was dressed in a black office lady outfit that accentuated her graceful figure. She wore black stockings on her long, beautiful legs and black high-heeled sandals on her feet. Leo had seen her in this attire many times over the past four years, but today, it made his heart race.
Leo quickly opened the passenger door of the Audi and called out to Sophia, “Sophia, get in.”
Still holding onto her anger, Sophia had no intention of getting in the car. She reached into her bag, retrieved the key to her own Mercedes, and said to Leo, “I told you yesterday, you don’t need to drive me to work anymore.”
Leo watched as Sophia got into her Mercedes, and a pang of unexplainable pain pierced his heart. He quickly started the Audi and followed her.
If this was the way she wanted to be sent to work, then he had no choice but to oblige.

At the headquarters of Floral Bank, inside a high-end office:
“Bevis, are you sure about this?” Frank William’s expression was grim as he sat with crossed legs, looking up at Bevis, who stood in front of his desk.
“I’ve made myself clear. I don’t want to work for you anymore,” Bevis replied.
“Bevis, you signed a contract with me. From that moment, you sold your life to me. Do you know the consequences of your actions?” Frank’s tone carried a threatening message.
With both hands placed firmly on the desk, Bevis stared coldly at Frank. “I’m someone who hates being threatened the most. If you’re planning to harm me, you better consider the consequences.”
Having said his piece, Bevis turned and walked out of Frank’s office.
Watching Bevis’s departing figure, Frank’s face turned green with anger. He roared, “Bevis, mark my words, you will pay a heavy price for your actions today!”
A sharp hiss followed by a swift motion rang out within Frank’s office. A small throwing knife flew dangerously close to Frank’s cheek before embedding itself deeply in the wall behind him.
Frank sat frozen in his chair, his spine tingling with dread. If Bevis hadn’t held back, that knife would have found its mark in his head.
Staring at Bevis’s retreating back, Frank finally snapped out of his shock and cursed, “A dog dares to bite its master. This is outrageous!”
“Bear!” Frank bellowed towards the door.
A burly man quickly entered the room, speaking respectfully, “Mr. William.”
“You arrange it. Chop off Bevis’s hands and feet for me!” Frank’s teeth gnashed together.
“Mr. William, Bevis is too skilled. I’m afraid our men won’t be a match for him,” Bear hesitated before explaining.
“You scoundrel! I’m keeping you all for a reason! If you can’t handle it, find a way! I don’t care how you do it; I just want Bevis to become a helpless cripple!” Frank’s anger was boiling over.
After Bear left, Frank slumped in his chair, his mind racing. He instinctively touched himself down below and felt a deep sense of despair. Ever since that day at the auction when he had drugged Sophia and knocked out by Leo, he had noticed a severe problem: he couldn’t get aroused anymore.
For a man, this was a dire issue. In recent times, Frank had been seeking medical advice and trying various treatments, but the results were barely noticeable. Even if the most beautiful woman in the world stood naked in front of him, he wouldn’t respond.
Frank knew that Leo was behind this, and that only fueled his hatred for Leo even more.
