Windy spoke with a stern face, “Young man, do you know who we are? You have a golden opportunity in front of you, and you should learn to cherish it.”
“Get lost!” Leo didn’t want to waste any more words with them.
Darren took out his checkbook, saying, “How much money do you want? Name your price!”
In Darren’s view, any problem that could be solved with money wasn’t a real problem. Leo’s reluctance to treat Nana was probably because he wanted more money. As long as the money was right, Darren believed that Leo would wag his tail like a dog.
“I’ll say it again, get lost!” Leo retorted coldly.
Windy maintained her domineering attitude and said, “Kid, when someone offers you wine, you should drink it. If you refuse, don’t blame us for not being polite.”
“Is that so? How impolite do you plan to be?” Leo sneered.
With a wave of Windy’s hand, she ordered, “My daughter needs treatment, and you will treat her, willingly or not. Bind him and take him to the ward!”
As Windy spoke, one of her bodyguards behind her stepped forward and reached out to grab Leo’s collar.
Leo didn’t dodge; instead, he kicked out.
“Bang!” The bodyguard let out a miserable cry as he was sent flying.
The other two bodyguards stared wide-eyed and hesitated to approach.
In Windy’s eyes, Leo was just a young man with no physical strength, but she didn’t expect him to easily kick her bodyguard away.
“What are you waiting for? Go together!” Windy ordered the other two bodyguards.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances and then rushed at Leo.
Without any suspense, Leo effortlessly kicked both of them away. After two cries of agony, they, too, clutched their stomachs in pain on the ground.
“Dr. Mond, let’s go,” Leo said, glancing at Dr. Mond.
Dr. Mond was shocked by Leo’s fierce methods. It wasn’t until Leo called her that she snapped out of her daze.
Seeing that three bodyguards had been easily defeated, Darren realized that using force wouldn’t make Leo cooperate.
As Leo and Dr. Mond were about to leave, Darren quickly stepped forward to block their way. “Dr. Bloomer, please state your price. How much money do you want to save my daughter?”
“Do you think money can solve all the problems in this world?” Leo stared at Darren. “I did want to help your daughter in the hospital earlier, but you not only didn’t believe me but also kicked me out. From that moment on, your daughter can only wait to die.”
Darren pulled his wife in front of him and apologized, “Dr. Bloomer, I’m sorry. We were wrong. Please forgive us.”
Businesspeople were businesspeople; they could change their attitude quickly. Now, Darren’s expression was much more sincere.
Leo looked at the two of them and said, “I don’t see any sincerity in your faces. Get lost!”
With a thud, Darren actually knelt in front of Leo.
Leo remained unmoved.
Darren reached out and pulled his wife down to kneel as well.
“Dr. Bloomer, please save our daughter,” Darren said with a much more sincere expression now.
This scene surprised Dr. Mond. She couldn’t believe that Langstel’s famous real estate tycoon would kneel before Leo.
Dr. Mond reached out and tugged at Leo’s sleeve, whispering, “Dr. Bloomer, please save Miss Hansom. Regardless of everything, the patient is innocent.”
Leo sighed, “Get up. I will save her.”
“Thank you, thank you, Dr. Bloomer!” Darren and his wife quickly stood up.
As the group entered the ICU, a shrill alarm went off. The monitoring equipment displayed Nana’s blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature dropping rapidly.
The medical staff in the room panicked. Nana’s identity was extraordinary, and if she died here, they would not escape the consequences.
Leo gestured to Dr. Mond to have the medical staff ready for emergency treatment and then went to examine Nana’s body.
“Dr. Bloomer, can… can you save her?” Darren was anxious, and now their only hope was placed entirely on Leo.
Windy, too, was crying out of fear, “Nana, wake up, don’t scare Mom.”
Standing next to Leo, Dr. Mond whispered, “Dr. Bloomer, can you save her?”
“Yes,” Leo replied with just one word. He took out a silver needle box from his pocket, expertly and quickly inserted needles into various acupoints on Nana’s body.
Leo inserted a total of seven needles and then, with a swipe of his right hand, he condensed spiritual energy on the surface of Nana’s body. The needle tips began to emit faint white light.
This needling technique was a variation of the Nine Extreme Mystical Needles called the Life Saving Seven Needles.
As Dr. Mond watched the glowing tips of the seven needles form a pattern resembling the Big Dipper in the night sky on Nana’s body, she was left dumbfounded.
Leo then took out another silver needle from the box and inserted it into an acupoint on Nana’s body, completing the missing needle from Lynn’s previous treatment.
As the needle entered the acupoint, Nana’s body trembled slightly. Her abdomen suddenly jerked, followed by a lifting of her shoulders and a raising of her head.
“Spurt!”
A mouthful of dark blood sprayed out from Nana’s mouth.
This sight terrified everyone.
Windy cried out, “Nana! Nana, what’s happening!?”
In the next moment, Nana opened her eyes with great difficulty. Her originally pale face even had a hint of rosiness.
“Nana!” Windy shouted in joy, rushing forward and grabbing her daughter’s hand.
Dr. Mond turned to look at the monitor, where Nana’s vital signs were returning to normal, and the alarm had stopped.
At this moment, Dr. Mond, a M. D. and a chief physician, felt only one thing towards Leo: admiration.
Leo asked a nurse to bring pen and paper and quickly wrote a prescription. He handed it to Darren and said, “Mr. Hansom, Miss Hansom is no longer in danger. After the surgery, she will need to take traditional Chinese medicine. Here’s the prescription. Take it to the pharmacy as indicated, and follow the instructions I’ve marked. She should take it three times a day, continuously for a week, without interruption.”
Darren gratefully accepted the prescription. “Dr. Bloomer, thank you, thank you!”
“That’s enough; I’ve saved her life. Leave the rest to Dr. Mond. I’m leaving,” Leo said, turning to leave the room.
Windy quickly grabbed Leo and expressed her sincere apologies. “Dr. Bloomer, I was desperate to save my daughter earlier, and I was offensive. I’m truly sorry.”
This time, Windy’s apology was sincere, and she had also realized that money was indeed not all-powerful.
Leo didn’t want to say more. He just waved his hand.
“Dr. Bloomer, this is a check for fifty million in cash. Please accept it,” Darren handed over a check with both hands.
Leo never refused money. He accepted the check and left the room gracefully.
