“This is what you said,” Leo said as he planted his foot on Ford’s lower leg.
*Crack!* A crisp sound rang out, followed by a spine-chilling scream that silenced the entire room. Many people in the room stared at Leo with expressions of utter disbelief, as if they were witnessing someone with a severe mental disorder.
They could never have imagined that, even with Ford’s father, Clyde, present, Leo would dare to break Ford’s leg. This situation was akin to slapping Clyde’s face, and there was essentially no difference between the two.
Hearing his son’s agonized screams, Clyde’s eyelid twitched. “Young man,” he said with an air of restraint, “when you stepped on him just now, you lost the right to live in this world.”
“Is that so? Then what are you waiting for? Go ahead, make your move,” Leo challenged Clyde with a provocative gaze.
At this point, Clyde couldn’t contain his anger any longer. He instructed his men beside him, “Take him back and turn him into a total cripple. Every moment of his life from now on will be filled with suffering.”
After Clyde’s words fell, four men in black surrounded Leo. Leo could sense from their aura that two of them were martial cultivators, albeit of a lower tier. The other two, judging by their calloused hands, possessed formidable combat skills.
Two martial cultivators lunged at Leo, mobilizing their internal energy, but Leo effortlessly evaded their grappling techniques, moving like a graceful fish in water. Subsequently, as Leo’s hands moved swiftly, two long bloody gashes appeared on the shoulders of the martial cultivators. Thanks to their quick reflexes, they partly evaded Leo’s attacks. Had they not dodged, their hearts would have been the target.
“Martial cultivator!” The two black-clad men narrowed their eyes.
The other two black-clad men filled the gaps and charged at Leo. However, with just two swift kicks, they were sent flying, coughing up blood as they crashed to the ground.
Leo’s moves didn’t stop there. He approached the remaining two martial cultivators like a ghost and subdued them effortlessly.
Two martial cultivators, now on their knees, struggled to catch their breath. It was clear that, as a lower-level spiritualist, dealing with lower-tier martial cultivators was as easy as swatting a mosquito.
In that moment, Clyde finally recognized Leo’s true strength. His voice trembled as he asked, “Are you a martial cultivator?”
Leo gazed back at him, unafraid, and replied, “Whether I am or not, what difference does it make?”
Clyde stared at Leo, and for the first time, his eyes betrayed an expression of fear.
“Dad!” Ford noticed the look on his father’s face and felt a growing sense of unease. Behind the Gregory family, there was support from a martial arts sect, so Clyde was well aware of the terror that martial cultivators could instill.
It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that if Leo could defeat the two martial cultivators Clyde had brought with him, then his other subordinates were no threat to Leo at all.
“Mr. Gregory, let us take care of him!” Several of his men noticed the change in Ford’s expression and produced real weapons.
In their eyes, even if they shot Leo, it wouldn’t matter. The Gregory family had significant influence and could easily find a scapegoat to take the fall.
Clyde still didn’t speak. He clenched his fists tightly, and his eyes displayed a mix of fear, resentment, and anger, a tumultuous storm of emotions. He may have wished to torture Leo to death, but he also knew that he couldn’t do it today. If he enraged Leo, his own fate would become uncertain.
The only apparent choice now was to swallow this humiliation, take Ford away from here, and perhaps, in the future, seek help from the martial arts sect to deal with Leo.
“Mr. Gregory, let’s kill him!” One of the men with a gun was becoming impatient.
Then, Clyde sighed deeply and shook his head. “We can’t.”
These simple words felt like a thunderbolt striking on level ground, shocking everyone present. Cherry and the others exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of how to express their emotions.
The head of the Gregory family, in a situation where his son had been beaten so severely, was actually surrendering to a worthless son-in-law! What had happened to the world to reach this horrifying point?
Clyde struggled to utter those words, his facial expression worse than if he were crying. His fingernails dug deeply into his skin as he wrestled with his overwhelming anger, forced to control his emotions.
With a satisfied smile, Leo gave Ford one last kick. “See that? Your father is more reasonable than you. You’d better pray I don’t encounter you again, or I’ll beat you up every time until you question your life choices.”
“Leo Bloomer, don’t push your luck!” Clyde roared.
Clyde felt that he was losing control. Even if the young man before him was a martial cultivator, he wasn’t necessarily bulletproof. If he could just land one shot, he might turn the tables. But Clyde couldn’t afford to take that risk because losing meant everything would be over.
Now, his only option seemed to be to endure this humiliation, take Ford away, and then seek help from their martial arts sect to eliminate Leo in the future.
“Then go on, shoot me,” Leo taunted.
Leo’s fearless expression on his face further extinguished any desire Clyde had to take another gamble.
“After you return, educate your son well,” Leo remarked casually. “Teach him to become a better person. Otherwise, I will do it myself.”
With these words, Leo walked out of the private room, exuding an air of arrogance and audacity.
But one of Clyde’s men couldn’t restrain himself any longer. He moved his gun towards Leo, shouting, “Die!”
Without even looking, Leo swiftly flicked his left hand, causing the man’s hand, which was about to pull the trigger, to suddenly detach from his wrist. Blood sprayed from the severed hand as the man let out a horrifying scream.
This gruesome sight sent shivers down Clyde’s spine, and cold sweat formed on his forehead.
It was only when Leo’s figure disappeared down the corridor that Clyde finally exhaled, releasing the tension that had been building in his chest. He vowed silently that he would settle the score with Leo in this lifetime.
“Dad, save me…” The excruciating pain Ford felt was causing his consciousness to blur. He was on the verge of shock.
It was only then that Ford remembered his pitiful son and shouted, “Call 911!”
Leo had just left the Purple Cloud Teahouse when a Bentley pulled up next to him. The car door opened, revealing a beautiful figure.
“Leo, did I arrive too late?” Renee asked with a smile as she stepped out of the driver’s seat.
Leo smiled in response, “You were a bit late. It’s already resolved. Is this Purple Cloud Teahouse also owned by the Azure Cloud Group?”
“You guessed it right!” Renee playfully snapped her fingers.
