In the blink of an eye, the feline creature, incredibly agile, twisted in mid-air, narrowly avoiding the python’s deadly fangs. Its claws dug deep into the python’s flesh.
The Siberian tiger had underestimated the python’s agility. The python missed its bite, but it swiftly twisted its head 180 degrees, snapping at the Siberian tiger’s back.
In an instant, two colossal predators engaged in a savage struggle, a terrifying sight that simultaneously thrilled and horrified the spectators. Even those who had initially displayed elegance and refinement now clutched their membership cards and shouted with fervor, as if they had been injected with a dose of adrenaline.
“Yes, that’s it! Bite it to death!”
“Wrap around it, strangle its neck!”
The so-called high society had become indistinguishable from gamblers. Leo chuckled, finally understanding why a place like this could exist.
Over ten minutes later, the two beasts separated, both bearing wounds and dripping blood onto the arena floor, enhancing the gruesome spectacle.
After a brief respite, the Siberian tiger let out a deep growl from its throat, its eyes gleaming with a fierce light. It lunged at the python once more, this time sinking its teeth into the python’s vulnerable throat.
The python emitted a strange, agonized cry as blood flowed from the tiger’s mouth.
“Nicely done, Big Cat! Keep biting, don’t let go!” Those who supported the Siberian tiger had affectionately dubbed it “Big Cat” and cheered it on as it displayed its might.
For those who had bet on the python, their expressions darkened, and they looked at the python with great disappointment.
The python’s body writhed as it attempted to coil around the Siberian tiger, but its efforts were futile. The tiger’s jaws clamped firmly onto the python’s seven-inch mark, rendering the serpent powerless.
“Thud!”
“Thud!”
The resounding thuds echoed through the arena as the python struggled, its tail slamming against the arena floor.
With each passing second, the force behind the strikes diminished, and eventually, the snake’s head drooped. It was evident that the Siberian tiger had bitten the python to death, ending its life in a gruesome manner.
Having dispatched the python, the Siberian tiger immediately began to voraciously devour its lifeless body. Blood sprayed onto the ground with each tearing bite, creating a macabre scene.
However, the spectators remained unfazed. Their eyes widened as they watched, their nerves craving even stronger sensations.
After twenty-five minutes, the python met its demise, and the victory was awarded to the Siberian tiger.
Those who had bet on the Siberian tiger erupted in cheers, while the faces of those who had wagered on the Amazonian man-eating python turned grim. Even the man beside Leo wore a disappointed expression.
The attendees at this place were undoubtedly wealthy, willing to wager large sums of money. However, losing money still left them feeling disheartened.
“Congratulations, buddy, you won,” the man said with a forced smile as he sipped his wine.
Leo simply smiled back, not saying much. He glanced at the LCD screen on the back of his membership card, where the initial hundred had now grown to two hundred thirty.
In just a short while, he had doubled his money, earning one hundred thirty thousand, which explained why people loved gambling here-money came in quickly.
Leo estimated that, after deducting the winnings, the arena had likely earned tens of millions during the tiger vs. python fight.
As mechanical sounds filled the air, a massive hatch on top of the cage opened, and an LCD screen slid aside. A colossal steel cage descended from above, perfectly encasing the Siberian tiger, which was still feasting on the python.
The cage covering the tiger and the python began to descend, and within moments, it disappeared beneath the massive platform.
Then the area that had previously sunken into the ground began to rise again, and the entire large arena returned to its original state.
Somewhere along the way, Ursula had entered the giant iron cage surrounding the arena, holding a microphone to her mouth. She spoke with her characteristic sweet and childish tone, “The thrilling first round of combat has ended, and I’m sure everyone is still eager for more. But don’t worry, after a short break, the excitement will continue. Now, please enjoy the performance by our beautiful ladies in the arena.”
As Ursula’s words trailed off, music began to play, and over a dozen women, dressed in revealing outfits, emerged from both sides of the arena. They danced exuberantly to the music, captivating the audience.
Dozens of attendants walked along the aisles, carrying trays of drinks and refreshments for the spectators.
Sipping red wine and watching these scantily clad women dance, it was undoubtedly a form of indulgence, especially when the arena still bore the bloody marks of the previous battle. The juxtaposition of sensuality and violence created a bizarrely intoxicating atmosphere.
No wonder the wealthy enjoyed coming to this place. Leo was starting to understand it now.
Leo’s companion ordered a glass of red wine and took a sip before turning to Leo. “The second round of combat is even crazier.”
Leo raised an eyebrow. “Oh, you mean more ferocious beasts?”
The man shook his head. “No, it’s humans versus beasts.”
“Human versus beasts?” Leo was taken aback. How could humans possibly compete with wild beasts?
But the man didn’t answer, as the scantily clad dancers in the center of the arena departed, signaling the start of the second round of combat.
“Dear and esteemed guests, we are about to begin the second round of combat. Lights, please!” Ursula pointed to the left tunnel, and simultaneously, a bright spotlight illuminated the area.
“Howl!”
The sound of wolves echoed throughout the arena.
As the iron gates in the tunnel automatically opened, five snow-white wolves rushed out. Their eyes gleamed with icy menace as they gazed at the people outside the cage, emitting eerie howls.
“Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the combatants for the second round of combat, the direwolves! And not just one, but five!” Ursula’s voice held a thrill of excitement.
Five direwolves! Leo’s eyebrows shot up.
He had learned about direwolves from a BBC documentary once. They were known for their ferocity, extraordinary endurance, and their tendency to hunt in packs. Rarely did their prey escape, and survival was almost impossible once they were targeted.
The man sitting next to Leo, whose expression had previously been downcast due to losing money, now appeared excited. “This is quite something. They’ve actually released direwolves. They must be pitted against berserkers for sure.”
“What are berserkers?” Leo asked with curiosity and puzzlement.
