“After today, all you need to know is that Sophia will be utterly ruined.”
“Utterly ruined?” Fanny’s mouth gaped, and she quickly warned, “Bruno, bro, please don’t do anything illegal. If Grandma finds out, you’ll be in deep trouble.”
Fanny wasn’t kidding. Despite Bruno being the only grandson of the Henley family, if the old lady went all out, things could get terrifying.
“Don’t worry, I just introduced Sophia to a middleman. I haven’t done anything else,” Bruno chuckled.
Seeing Bruno’s response, Fanny’s curiosity grew even stronger.
Bruno proceeded to lay out his entire plan to Fanny, leaving her speechless.
Bruno’s scheme was devilish to the core. If successful, Sophia’s life in Langstel would be shattered. To put it more seriously, the usually haughty Sophia might not be able to bear such a blow and could even consider ending her own life.
Fanny suddenly sympathized with Sophia and gained a deeper understanding of Bruno’s character.
With a touch of fear in her gaze, Fanny glanced at Bruno and thought to herself, *This cousin of mine is truly ruthless. I better not cross paths with him in the future.*
Bruno looked at Fanny and smiled, “Fanny, what do you think Leo’s reaction will be if he finds out his wife’s been with someone else?”
“What other reaction could there be? He’d probably keep being his pathetic self, taking it lying down. Is he really going to jump up and bite Philip?” Fanny’s face displayed a hint of disdain.
“Well, you have a point. But I’m still looking forward to seeing the expression on Leo’s face. I’ll definitely take a picture and post it on social media. It’ll be the perfect ending to this little affair.”
Sophia informed Leo about Bruno’s call. Leo decided to personally take Sophia to Clearwater Bay Country Inn after her work hours. He also planned to bring Scar along; after all, certain matters were easier to handle with a bit of underworld influence.
Leo’s gut feeling told him that tonight was going to be a crucial encounter.
After dropping Sophia at her workplace, Leo headed straight to Clouddream Mountain’s Heaven’s Extreme Stone for his cultivation.
For him, besides Sophia, his top priority was advancing in his cultivation. Only by breaking through to the Spiritualist realm would he have the confidence to visit the Seven Stars Sword Sect again.
At five in the afternoon, Leo parked his car on the street outside the convenience store.
Usually, he’d have a chat with the store owner and enjoy some conversation before smoking a cigarette. But today, the convenience store was closed-the first time Leo had seen it closed during this time.
Thinking about it, it was understandable. Unexpected situations could arise, forcing him to close early. Leo dismissed the store’s closure from his mind and drove to the underground parking lot of the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza.
After picking up Sophia, they headed to the rural Clearwater Bay Country Inn.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Sophia had a bad feeling. She said to Leo, “Leo, something doesn’t feel right today. My heart’s racing. Maybe we shouldn’t go.”
Leo turned to her, saying, “Don’t worry. If it’s a trap, I’m here. Nobody will harm you.”
Leo’s tone was calm, but it radiated strong confidence.
Sophia was Leo’s weak point. If anyone dared to hurt her, they would regret ever being born into this world.
Feeling Leo’s unwavering assurance, Sophia’s heart settled.
For some reason, lately, whenever Leo was around, she felt like no problem or danger could touch her.
Upon reaching their destination, they parked the car in the outer parking lot and walked toward the inn.
Two men dressed in black suits and sunglasses stood at the entrance. When they saw Leo and Sophia approaching, one of them hurriedly went inside.
“Philip, they’re here, but it’s two people,” the man who had gone inside came back to Philip and reported.
Philip was lounging on a chair, legs crossed, snacking on sunflower seeds. He asked, “Two people? The other one is a man and a woman?”
“A man,” the man answered.
A wicked smile spread across Philip’s face. “Looks like she brought her useless husband along. Perfect. Later, I’ll make him watch as I… have my way with his wife. Haha.”
Led by another henchman outside the gate, Leo and Sophia entered a room.
Philip sat up straight in his chair, his gaze blatantly wandering over Sophia’s form.
Indeed, she was a natural beauty, someone worthy of experiencing once in a lifetime. If he could have her just once, it’d be worth coming into this world.
“Miss Henley, please take a seat!” Philip gestured, and one of his henchmen promptly brought a chair for Sophia.
Philip reluctantly pulled his gaze away from Sophia and turned to Leo. “Miss Henley, who is this gentleman with you?”
Sophia answered loudly, “Leo Bloomer, my husband!”
As soon as Sophia finished speaking, laughter erupted in the room.
Philip’s henchmen, who had brought Sophia and Leo here, were well-informed about them. They knew Leo’s identity very well-the renowned freeloader of Langstel!
Philip looked at Leo with a contemptuous gaze and taunted, “You might look somewhat presentable, but you just love to freeload, don’t you? Out of all the food out there, you prefer the easy pickings. You’re the disgrace of the manly world!”
One of the henchmen followed up, “Philip, let me handle this freeloader. I’d love to put him in his place.”
“Philip, let me take care of him. I want to teach this man how to be a real man.”
“Philip, dealing with this pathetic loser, I have plenty of experience!”
Seeing his henchmen eager to take action, Philip’s mouth curled into a wicked smile. He waved them off, saying, “All of you, quiet down. He’s our guest. You’re scaring him with all this excitement. What if he ends up peeing his pants, and we’re left with a foul odor?”
As Philip’s words faded, the room once again echoed with unrestrained laughter.
Sophia couldn’t stand it any longer and said coldly, “What’s the meaning of this? I think there’s no need to discuss anything. Honey, let’s go.”
Turning to leave, Sophia’s abrupt move prompted Philip to stand up from his chair. He put on a friendly face and said, “Miss Henley, we were wrong. Please don’t be angry. Let’s talk business while we eat. Monkey, order the food!”
A henchman named Monkey acknowledged and left the room.
Sophia didn’t sit in the chair but faced Philip instead. “My company is facing a certain situation. Bruno must’ve told you. Do you have channels for importing cosmetics?”
