Chapter 177: Seeking Help

Fanny noticed his expression and exclaimed curiously, “Bruno, you’re still able to smile? Our family’s reputation has been tarnished by that useless Leo! We’re all being mocked because of him!”
“I think the bigger this incident gets, the better it is,” Bruno suddenly said something unexpected.
Seeing everyone’s puzzled looks, Bruno explained, “Sometimes a bad thing might turn into a good thing. By making the Wyndham Hotel incident bigger, it will intensify the bitterness in Grandma’s heart towards Sophia. At that point, if we push harder, we might be able to remove Sophia from her position as the General Manager.”
The people at the dinner table finally understood, looking at Bruno with admiration.
“Bruno, you’re truly brilliant. If you become the chairman in the future, you’ll definitely lead the Henley family to outshine Azure Cloud Group and Flying Dragon Business Association, becoming the most powerful first-class family!” a fellow flattered.
Bruno had a strategic and decisive expression, as if he was planning a victory from a thousand miles away. He feigned depth and said, “Only four days until the 19th. Just wait and watch.”
“Bruno, how about we all go to Wyndham on the 19th? I’m really curious to know who’s so daring to book the entire place,” someone proposed.
“Fanny, would you like to go?” Bruno looked at Fanny.
“I’ll go if you go, Bruno,” Fanny replied.
“Do you guys think Leo and Sophia will go?”
“No chance, probably on the 19th, Leo and Sophia won’t dare to stay in Langstel.”
“Forget it, I won’t go to Wyndham on the 19th. If any of you want to go watch, feel free.”
Fanny raised her glass and took a sip, saying, “Actually, I kind of hope Sophia goes. Let her see what a real man is like, let her know that marrying a loser was the biggest mistake of her life!”
In the Henley family, Fanny harbored a strong resentment toward Sophia. Firstly, because when their grandfather was alive, he favored Sophia the most, and secondly, Sophia’s beauty made Fanny pale in comparison wherever she went.
Karen had been going through a difficult time these past few days. Other than the video of the piano virtuoso playing the piano on TikTok, there had been no other news. She felt like a wilting flower waiting for rain.
Lately, Karen lacked energy. She wasn’t going to work, just staying at home, either re-watching that video or staring into space.
This morning, she woke up from a dream and found herself lying on the couch in a despondent pose, gazing at the ceiling, her eyes wandering.
Karen’s figure was quite perfect, a slight fullness that was just right, with all the right curves. Especially her fair feet, not too big, not too small, very pleasing to the eye.
Karen realized the severity of her situation. At this rate, she might become a complete wreck.
But she couldn’t control her mind. Whenever she closed her eyes, the pianist’s silhouette would appear, and the beautiful piano music would ring in her ears.
Just as Karen was lost in thought, her phone ringing startled her. Annoyed, she grabbed her phone from the couch and glanced at the caller ID.
An unknown number. Hang up!
Not long after hanging up, the phone rang again, the same number calling.
Karen hung up again!
It didn’t take long for the phone to ring again.
Enough already!
Karen pressed the answer button, irritated. “I’m not buying a house, a car, or insurance. Don’t call again!”
But a familiar voice came through the receiver. “Why are you so angry, like you’re holding dynamite?”
“It’s Leo!” Karen recognized the voice on the other end.
Why would Leo suddenly call her?
Karen found it strange. If she thought about it carefully, she had only met him twice. That day at the shopping plaza, even though she was testing him with intent, it was just to gauge the character of Sophia’s husband. Could it be that his complete lack of attention to her that day was all an act?
It seemed he had finally couldn’t hold back.
Men, they were all the same. Selfish in all matters.
No, not her pianist.
“Leo, why are you calling me? I’m telling you, I absolutely won’t do anything that would hurt Sophia. Don’t even think about tricking me into something!” Karen warned in advance.
On the other end of the line, Leo sounded a bit baffled. “What are you talking about? I’m calling to ask for your help.”
“What help? Are we that close?” Karen was wary.
Although Leo had bought her a lot of clothes from the store that day for Sophia and her, it didn’t mean he could ask anything of her. Karen had her principles.
Leo continued, “We may not be close, but you and Sophia are good friends. I need your help with something.”
“What do you mean? Just spit it out.”
“On the 19th, can you take Sophia to Wyndham Grand Palace Hotel without her knowing beforehand? And don’t tell her where you’re going.”
Leo wanted to surprise Sophia, but if he mentioned it to her, she wouldn’t go. Hence, he came up with this “roundabout” strategy.
“The 19th? Wyndham?” Those words hit a nerve with Karen. “Leo, are you crazy? Do you know what’s going to happen at Wyndham on the 19th? Are you insane?”
Karen couldn’t understand. The news about Wyndham being booked on the 19th was known throughout the city. Leo and Sophia had gotten married there on the same day four years ago. Now he wanted to go back on the same day. Did he want to experience being publicly shamed?
Leo explained, “I’m aware of what’s happening with the Wyndham Hotel. The 19th is the fourth anniversary of my marriage to Sophia. I want to give her a surprise. Will you help me with this?”
Karen was speechless. Did Leo have a mental breakdown?
“Your idea of a surprise is to let Sophia see someone confessing their love to someone else at Wyndham? Do you think she’s not hurt enough? Have you lost your mind?” Karen shot back with a string of questions.
“I’m not crazy. I’m dead serious. Will you help me?”
“I won’t help!” Karen declared.
Karen thought that after her clear refusal, Leo would have the sense to hang up. But unexpectedly, he threw a surprise bomb her way.
“If you help me with this, I’ll make it so you can finally meet your pianist. How about that?”
