Chapter 169: I’ve Reserved It

The manager distinctly remembered it, it happened three years ago when the heir of the William family, the largest shareholder of the Flying Dragon Business Association, reserved the entire hotel to propose to a beautiful woman. The event had caused quite a sensation in Langstel. Since then, women stopped saying “You are a good guy” to refuse men; instead, they’d say things like, “If you can reserve the entire Wyndham Grand Mansion Hotel for me, I’d marry you without hesitation.”
“Yes, is there a problem?” Leo noticed the manager’s surprised expression.
The manager composed himself and replied, “No problem, it’s just the cost.”
“How much?” Leo inquired.
“Ten million.”
“No problem, it’s on the 19th, I’m reserving it,” Leo stated straightforwardly.
“Sir, according to the hotel’s policy, a deposit of one million is required upfront.”
Leo handed his credit card to the manager.
After a successful transaction, the manager’s smile became even more radiant. “Esteemed sir, we’ve arranged your reservation for the 19th. The entire Wyndham Grand Mansion Hotel will be at your disposal. Is there anything else you’d like?”
“At the hotel’s rooftop ballroom, I’d like a Bösendorfer piano placed there. I’ll cover the rental fee,” Leo said after a moment’s thought.
The manager promptly agreed, “Certainly, sir.”
Leo discussed a few more details with the manager before leaving the hotel contentedly.
The receptionists at the front desk had overheard Leo’s conversation with the manager, word for word. The event that had taken place three years ago came to mind. They watched Leo’s departing figure and couldn’t help but feel infatuated.
“Three years, and it seems another tycoon has emerged. If a man could reserve the entire hotel for me, I’d go crazy with happiness.”
“This guy is probably from one of those top-notch families. He’s likely trying to pursue someone, making us all envious.”
At that moment, a hotel floor team leader hurried over to the manager, inquiring respectfully, “Manager, that man looked somewhat familiar to me. He seems to have visited our hotel before.”
“Really? I don’t recall him at all.” The manager frowned.
The floor leader didn’t know that the manager had been transferred from another hotel three years ago and was unaware of the wedding that had taken place four years ago.
“Manager, if I’m not mistaken, that man should be the son-in-law who lives off the Henley family. He used to visit us.” The floor leader whispered.
The manager’s eyes widened. “What Henley family? No matter if he’s a son-in-law or not, he’s now our most esteemed guest! Inform everyone, on the 19th, the hotel won’t be open to the public. Also, the decorations must be grand. If anything goes wrong, you won’t have a job as a floor leader anymore.”
The floor leader quickly quelled her curiosity and nodded fervently.
The news about today’s incident quickly spread from the Wyndham Grand Mansion Hotel and was soon buzzing all over Langstel. Many women who had dreams of marrying into a wealthy family were already prepared to attend on the 19th, eager to witness the scene again that had haunted their dreams for three years.
Sophia Cosmetics Company.
During lunchtime, Karen appeared once again in Sophia’s office. It was the usual scenario; ever since she became captivated by the mysterious piano player’s silhouette, Karen had been engrossed in it, almost to the point of obsession. Her whole demeanor had grown haggard.
There was no cure for Karen’s infatuation-Sophia had tried, and failed. Karen was stubborn, and it seemed there was no pulling her out of this trance.
“Sophia, have you read the comments on TikTok? I’m not the only one obsessing over my piano man. Some girls are even saying they’ll give away a house to him. It’s driving me crazy!” Karen exclaimed in frustration.
Sophia shook her head, feigning fear. “Oh, I’m scared! You’re taking this way too seriously. You know, beauty isn’t guaranteed just because a guy can play the piano. What if your ‘piano man’ turns out to be less than stunning?”
Karen’s eyes widened as she listened, then she put on an indignant expression. “Don’t you dare badmouth him! I’m telling you, my piano man is the most handsome man in the world. If you speak ill of him, I won’t be your friend anymore!”
Sophia grinned playfully, pretending to be scared. “Oh no, it’s serious! I’m terrified.”
Karen pouted, annoyed, and began tickling Sophia.
In the office, the two beautiful women laughed and played.
After a while, Sophia caught her breath and said, “Karen, don’t mind me being a buzzkill, but I need to remind you. Don’t get too carried away with these internet sensations. You’ve only seen a back view. You don’t know his appearance, personality, background, or character. Be cautious.”
Hearing this, Karen’s smile faded. She had, of course, considered these factors, but feelings were something reason couldn’t control. Karen was completely captivated by the piano player’s charm. His silhouette was etched deeply in her mind, impossible to erase.
After contemplating for a moment, Karen made up her mind. “There’s a song called ‘Crazy for Love.’ As long as my piano man isn’t married, I’m going to go crazy for him once. That way, I won’t regret it for the rest of my life.”
“Your choice. I’ve said my piece. It’s up to you now.” Sophia knew her friend well and decided not to advise her further.
“Oh, I almost forgot to tell you something big.” Karen suddenly remembered.
“Something about your piano man? I’d rather not listen.” Sophia immediately stated.
“Not about that. Before I came here, I received a message saying that someone reserved the entire Wyndham Grand Palace Hotel!”
“What’s so big about that?”
Karen stared at her with widened eyes. “Don’t tell me you forgot already? It’s strange too. The Wyndham hotel was reserved for this month on the 19th, I think that’s the same date you got married, right?”
The mention of the 19th made Sophia’s eyebrows furrow.
Just then, Sophia’s office door was pushed open from the outside.
Two women entered-Sophia’s company clerk and Fanny.
The clerk appeared flustered. “Miss Henley, I couldn’t stop her.”
“No worry, you can leave,” Sophia waved her off, then turned her gaze to Fanny. “What are you doing here?”
Fanny wore a peculiar smile. “Sophia, sis, I’m here to tell you something big.”
“What is it?” Sophia knew her cousin well; she was just as troublesome as Bruno.
