Chapter 151: No Problem at All

Book:The All-powerful Son-In-Law Published:2024-6-3

“Mr. Cowper, I don’t believe that a single meal can cure an illness. It would be better to employ conventional treatment methods for your condition,” the middle-aged doctor wasn’t entirely at ease with Leo. If anything went wrong, it could lead to a major problem.
Emmanuel waved his hand, “Dr. Buck, I’ve been dealing with this illness for years with no improvement. I’m not keen on going to the hospital. Let Leo give it a try.”
Emmanuel then turned to Leo, “Leo, what are you planning to prepare for me?”
“Medicinal cuisine,” Leo replied simply. He then looked at Dr. Buck and asked, “Do you have paper and pen?”
Dr. Buck reluctantly handed over the paper and pen he carried with him.
Leo quickly wrote something on the paper and handed it to Dr. Buck, “Follow the instructions I’ve written here and get the ingredients.”
Dr. Buck’s expression soured. He might be Emmanuel’s primary physician, but this kid was treating him like a servant. Although he resented the situation, Leo was brought here by Arthur Wilde’s granddaughter, so Dr. Buck had to bear with it and took the paper.
Looking at what was written on the paper, Dr. Buck became even more skeptical. A hen and some Chinese herbs-could this really cure Mr. Cowper’s illness?
Fine, he would buy the requested items first. If the treatment didn’t work, Leo would have a hard time.
Dr. Buck handed the paper to his assistant and instructed him to purchase the necessary items according to the list.
The assistant moved swiftly. In a little over twenty minutes, he had procured all the items mentioned on the paper.
Then Leo inquired about the kitchen’s location and entered with bags in tow.
Two hours later, a pot of medicinal chicken stew was freshly cooked.
Leo scooped a bowl and placed it in front of Emmanuel. The aroma filled the air, causing Kennedy Motley and Noel Fox to unconsciously swallow saliva.
Leo had infused spiritual power into this medicinal dish.
The special fragrance enticed Emmanuel, and without hesitation, he took his fork and picked up a piece of chicken to taste.
Arthur Wilde watched eagerly, his mouth watering in anticipation.
The chicken was tender and smooth, requiring only a couple of chews to release a refreshing sensation in the mouth.
Emmanuel’s spirit lifted. After swallowing the chicken, a warm and comfortable feeling spread from his stomach, as though his entire body was being nourished and massaged.
“Delicious!” Emmanuel’s pace of eating quickened. Eventually, he stopped using the fork and used his hands to devour a chicken leg, displaying a hearty appetite.
The tantalizing aroma hung in the air, tempting the others’ appetites as well. However, they dared not contend with Emmanuel for the food. Furthermore, this medicinal stew was specifically prepared for Emmanuel by Leo.
Observing Emmanuel’s fervent eating, Dr. Buck became anxious, “Mr. Cowper, excessive consumption of meat isn’t advisable for your health.”
Emmanuel paid no heed, continuing to eat bowl after bowl with no signs of stopping.
His voracious appetite resembled that of someone who hadn’t eaten for days.
Dr. Buck’s resentment toward Leo grew with every glance. This was the first time he’d seen Emmanuel eat so much. If something went wrong, Dr. Buck, as the primary physician, would naturally bear the consequences. However, he wouldn’t let Leo off lightly either.
In the end, Emmanuel finished nearly the entire pot of medicinal stew.
Oddly, there were no signs that Emmanuel had eaten to the point of being stuffed.
“What an earthly delicacy.” Emmanuel wiped his mouth with a napkin, a hint of satisfaction lingering on his face.
Dr. Buck hurriedly asked, “Mr. Cowper, do you feel any discomfort?”
“Discomfort? Not at all. I feel fantastic. I’ve never felt so good before. It’s as though I’ve returned to my youth, brimming with boundless energy. Right now, I could easily take down two enemies!”
Emmanuel knew his body best. He’d never felt this healthy before.
Could this be the power of the medicinal stew?
Emmanuel gazed at Leo with deep interest. This young man was far from ordinary.
Still uneasy, Dr. Buck suggested, “Mr. Cowper, let me conduct a thorough examination.”
Dr. Buck motioned for his assistant to prepare the necessary instruments.
“No need, I’m well aware of my own body.” Emmanuel waved his hand, refusing.
Leo smiled, “Mr. Cowper, it’s better to have a check-up. That’s the only way to prove the effectiveness of my food therapy.”
“Alright, let’s check,” Emmanuel also wanted to know how miraculous Leo’s medicinal stew truly was, whether it had truly healed his body.
Dr. Buck arranged for his assistant to prepare the appropriate examination equipment.
After about forty minutes, the detailed examination results were ready.
Seeing the printed report, Dr. Buck was stunned.
Observing Dr. Buck’s expression, Emmanuel grew curious and asked, “Dr. Buck, is there a problem?”
Only now did Dr. Buck snap out of it, exclaiming, “Mr. Cowper, a miracle has occurred. All your health indicators are within the normal range. Your liver function is completely normal, and even your previous stomach issues have vanished. All your internal organs show significant improvement in function, and even your hypertension is gone.”
Dr. Buck’s expression was a mix of astonishment and disbelief. He wouldn’t have believed this if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes.
Furthermore, the examination equipment used was top-of-the-line imported instruments. It was impossible for them to malfunction simultaneously.
Hearing Dr. Buck’s words, both Kennedy Motley and Noel Fox were both astonished and elated.
They never expected the medicinal stew to have such a powerful effect.
“Dr. Buck, does that mean my body is truly problem-free?” Emmanuel was undoubtedly the happiest.
Dr. Buck nodded with absolute certainty, “Mr. Cowper, without exaggeration, your current physical condition is on par with that of someone in their fifties.”
Arthur Wilde was stunned and envious at the same time upon hearing this. Considering he was almost eighty years old and Emmanuel was around his age, to hear Dr. Buck say that Emmanuel’s current physical condition was comparable to someone in their fifties… It was hard not to feel envious.
Arthur Wilde couldn’t help but glance at Leo, thinking that he should find an opportunity to have a medicinal stew prepared by Leo himself.
Emmanuel burst into laughter, “Dr. Buck, according to you, can I start drinking again?”
Dr. Buck hesitated, “Mr. Cowper, it’s still best to avoid alcohol. Your previous health issues were caused by excessive drinking.”
“Well, that’s not going to work. A dedicated drinker like me wouldn’t be able to survive without alcohol. I’ll try to drink less from now on. Leo, you’re truly remarkable. A single meal can cure countless ailments. I’m truly impressed.”
