Upon closer inspection, people would notice that the six silver needles on each calf were inserted only about a third of the way, while the three silver needles on each thigh showed just one needlehead above the skin.
Grace’s legs were now skin wrapped around bones – in other words, Leo’s needles in her thighs must have gone straight into her bones.
Dr. Lee, standing by, muttered to himself, “The piercing technique, it’s the piercing technique. How many miraculous methods does Leo possess?”
Eighteen silver needles in total were placed into Grace’s legs. As the needle tips gleamed with a pearly white light, a sight that caught everyone’s attention.
Dr. Davy, witnessing this, held the most profound reaction. Practicing medicine for years, he had never seen such wondrous acupuncture.
And Grace’s legs? The areas where the needles had been inserted began to reveal a faint red pattern. The red lines connected the nine silver needles sequentially on each leg.
Dr. Lee’s eyes widened with realization. “This is… This is the Bloodline Needle Technique!”
The words prompted a change in Dr. Davy’s expression. He knew of this technique from an ancient medical text he had read in his father’s collection during his early teenage years. However, it was only discussed in theory, lacking precise application instructions.
The text mentioned that the Bloodline Needle Technique had the power to rejuvenate necrotic bones and muscles. Once blood-red lines appeared, the paralyzed nervous system would be reactivated.
Leo, so young, seemed to possess this long-lost mystical acupuncture technique. Truly astonishing.
As the blood-red lines emerged, Grace’s legs trembled ever so slightly. A minor quiver, yet it filled Dr. Davy with an urge to shout in exultation.
Even a slight tremble meant that his daughter’s legs were gradually regaining sensation.
After about ten minutes, as the pearl-white glimmers at the needle ends faded, Leo gently lifted Grace’s right leg. With a clenched fist, he lightly tapped the sole of her foot. Grace’s right leg reflexively bent.
He repeated the process with her left leg, tapping her foot in the same manner.
Once her left leg was lowered, the red pattern on her legs slowly vanished.
Leo systematically removed the silver needles from Grace’s legs. He handed them to Dr. Davy who disinfected them with alcohol.
With a relieved sigh, Leo rose from the chair. He looked at Dr. Davy and said, “Dr. Davy, Miss Davy should be able to feel her legs now.”
“Really?” Dr. Davy’s face lit up with boundless joy. He turned to Grace eagerly. “Grace, how do you feel now?”
Excitement and elation were impossible for Grace to conceal. “Dad, I can sense my feet.”
She tentatively wiggled her toes.
“Dad, look! My toes can move!” Tears welled up in Grace’s eyes, carried by the waves of excitement.
“Leo, thank you so much!” Dr. Davy’s gratitude towards Leo knew no bounds.
Renee’s eyes shimmered with a unique gleam as she gazed at Leo.
“Although Miss Davy’s legs have regained feeling, due to the prolonged paralysis, the muscles have already atrophied. She’ll need to regenerate new muscles. I’ll prescribe a treatment plan. After three months of continuous use, Miss Davy should be able to walk again. And after six months, she’ll be able to run,” Leo continued.
Dr. Davy swiftly fetched paper and pen.
Leo jotted down a prescription and handed it to Dr. Davy. Just as before, with Leo’s consent, Dr. Lee would take the prescription for further research.
With tearful eyes, Grace watched the man who granted her the gift of mobility.
After leaving the clinic, Dr. Davy handed the property deed of the clinic to Leo.
“I’ll never forget what you have done for my daughter, Leo. From now on, this clinic is yours.”
Dr. Davy’s tone shifted, taking on a more imploring note. “Leo, I have a small request. I hope you’ll consider it.”
“Please, go ahead, Dr. Davy.”
“Could you allow Grace and me to stay here for three more months? Once Grace can walk again, I’ll move her out.”
“Dr. Davy, no need for that. Stay as long as you want,” Leo said. Despite owning the clinic now, he knew it was best for the father and daughter to oversee here.
After leaving the clinic and getting into the car, Renee chuckled, “Leo, we were supposed to be co-investors in acquiring the clinic, but now it seems you’ve got full ownership. So, what’s your plan moving forward?”
Leo pondered for a moment. “I’m thinking of giving the clinic a name and then giving it a fresh makeover.”
“What name are you thinking of?” Renee inquired.
“Well, since the clinic currently doesn’t have a name, let’s call it the Nameless Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic.”
“The Nameless Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic?” Renee nodded approvingly. “That’s quite a distinctive name.”
After bidding farewell to Renee, Leo made a trip to Clouddream Mountain and then headed to Heaven’s Extreme Stone for cultivation.
In the afternoon, Sophia messaged him on WhatsApp, asking Leo to meet her in the company parking lot at 5:30.
At 5:35, Sophia opened the passenger door, seeing Leo in the driver’s seat, smiling. “You’re quite punctual. Want to guess how the meeting went with Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company today?”
“It must have gone well, right?” Leo already knew the outcome.
“Did you already know?” Sophia looked at Leo suspiciously.
Leo shook his head quickly. “I just have faith in the talents of my wife.”
“Flattery won’t get you far. Today’s negotiation felt odd. The factory manager of Herbal Magic Cosmetics Company, seemed ready to sign the contract with me from the start. We barely spoke before he brought out a pre-prepared contract.” Sophia still felt something was off.
“Stop overthinking it. I’ve always said, with the reputation and skill of Sophia Cosmetics, sealing the deal is a breeze!” Leo injected confidence at the right moment, then asked, “Shall we head home now?”
Sophia shook her head. “Let’s hit the market first. I’m in a good mood today. Let’s go grocery shopping.”
Leo thought he misheard. In these four years, Sophia had never once gone grocery shopping with him.
“Don’t stand there, let’s go.”
“Alright.” Leo started the engine and drove.
Arriving at a market not far from the Henley Manor, they parked the car and entered. Instantly, the gossipy senior shoppers started whispering and pointing.
