This Mercedes S-Class was probably a gift from Renee because she had accidentally crashed Sophia’s car while running a red light.
“Give the car back to her, I only want my own car.” Leo could tell from Sophia’s expression that he had guessed who gave her the car. She spoke directly.
Leo helplessly spread his hands, “I don’t have her contact information.”
“I don’t care, figure it out yourself. Also, I have a party to attend today, come with me, and be my full-time driver. No drinking.” Sophia tossed the car keys to him. “Drive this car for now.”
It had to be said that you get what you pay for-the Mercedes S-Class was not only more cool to drive than the E-Class, but even sitting in it felt more comfortable.
Following Sophia’s instructions, Leo drove directly to a high-end club called the North Star.
It was a small gathering today-Sophia and her close girl friends.
After waiting in Sophia’s office for a while, they arrived at the North Star Club in the evening. The city’s dazzling lights gradually lit up, announcing the beginning of the vibrant nightlife for the city dwellers.
Leo parked the car in the club’s outdoor parking lot.
As soon as they got out of the car, they saw a bright red Jaguar parked in the adjacent spot. Two attractive young women stepped out of the car.
Upon seeing these two women, Sophia hurriedly walked over to them.
“Elsie, Momo!” Sophia called out.
Both women turned to Sophia, smiling, “Sophia!”
“Momo, look at our Sophia, she’s becoming more beautiful.” Elsie, who was holding Sophia’s hand, said.
Momo’s gaze fell on Leo, “And who is this…?”
“This is Sophia’s husband, Leo. Momo, you went to her wedding, right?” Elsie replied.
“Oh, I remember now.” Momo looked Leo up and down, her face showing a look of disdain. She thought to herself, “just as the rumors say, a parasite living off his wife’s wealth”.
Leo smiled and greeted the two women, but the response he got was an icy reception.
Elsie hooked her arm with Sophia’s and walked towards the club, while Momo followed, saying coldly, “Leo, I know about you and Sophia. She only married you because she was sick. Now that she’s better, you don’t need to bother her anymore, understand?”
“I don’t understand.” Leo shook his head.
“Don’t play dumb! A person like you is completely unworthy of Sophia. I advise you to leave her soon, don’t delay her happiness.”
“Are you suggesting that I should divorce Sophia?”
“Yes!”
“Well, I actually want to get a divorce, but she doesn’t want to.” Leo’s expression showed his helplessness.
“Nonsense! You really think highly of yourself, don’t you? You’re just used to leeching off the Henley family, aren’t you? I know men like you too well, who marry into a wealthy family, a parasite that can’t survive on your own and can only cling onto women for a free ride,” Momo’s words were far from sweet, but rather sharp and hurtful.
Leo couldn’t stand her nagging anymore, so he flicked his finger against the heel of her high heels.
“Ah!” Momo screamed and fell to the ground in a miserable state.
Elsie and Sophia quickly helped her up.
“Momo, are you okay, did you hurt yourself?” Elsie asked with concern.
Momo gritted her teeth in pain, cursing, “These crappy high heels, I’m throwing them away when I get home!”
With Sophia and Elsie supporting her, Momo entered the club.
The four of them went up to the fourth floor of the club and entered a luxurious private room called the Drunk Flowers Chamber.
The room was playing soothing music, and more than a dozen men and women were drinking and chatting inside.
The appearance of Sophia’s group immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
A slightly thin man stood up from the sofa and quickly walked over to Sophia’s group. “Sophia, Elsie, Momo, welcome.”
Although the young man was somewhat slender, he was tall, almost about 1. 9 meters, and was wearing Armani with an expensive Piaget watch on his wrist.
He exuded a strong aura, which could be summarized as ‘rich.’
“Boyce, I used to think you were tacky, like a parvenu. Who would’ve thought you’d dress up so fashionably today?” Elsie couldn’t help but sarcastically comment.
Boyce, hearing this, wasn’t angry but instead chuckled, “Back then, it was all about big gold chains and small gold watches. Eating barbecue twice a day. Now, it’s not enough.”
“Oh, why’s that?” Elsie pressed further.
“A second-generation rich kid learned from others, invested in companies, and eventually went bankrupt. If it weren’t for a few houses left in the family, he probably wouldn’t even be able to enter the door of this club anymore. Am I right, Boyce?” Momo spoke up.
Boyce’s face was a bit embarrassed, and he forced a smile, “A man doesn’t dwell on past glories. Sophia, you’re even more beautiful now. It’s the biggest regret of my life that I couldn’t pursue you back then.”
“Boyce, you’re being inappropriate. Don’t you know that our Sophia is already taken?” Elsie’s eyes glanced toward Leo as she spoke.
“Oh, who is it? To have such luck to win the heart of Sophia.” Boyce pretended not to know.
Momo pointed at Leo, “It’s him. Let me introduce you. This is the famous gold digger in the city, Leo Bloomer.”
When everyone heard the term “gold digger,” their eyes all focused on Leo.
“It’s like putting a fresh flower on top of cow dung.”
“You’re wrong. At least cow dung can still be used as fertilizer. A man who lives off women is useless, right?”
“You’re right, except for eating, wearing, and using what women bought for them, they have no use whatsoever.”
“You’re all wrong. Actually, they can be used as housekeepers, like cooking, doing laundry, and cleaning.”
The conversation evoked laughter from the crowd.
Amidst the wild laughter, Boyce extended his hand to Leo and greeted him, “Nice to meet you.”
Boyce had experienced great ups and downs, being rich and then poor, so he felt some sympathy for Leo’s identity.
Leo smiled and shook his hand.
The group then took their seats on the nearby sofa, and a waiter brought them drinks.
Elsie and Momo raised their glasses, “Sophia, come, let’s toast to our reunion as best friends.”
The three of them downed their drinks.
“By the way, Elsie, you said you were going to introduce an investor to me. Has he arrived yet?” Sophia glanced around and asked.
