Chapter 5: Vanishing Acne

“Madam, let’s discuss this…” Jessica’s face turned pale.
“There’s nothing to discuss.” The woman checked her watch and said, “My time is valuable. I’ll give you three minutes to think about it.”
“Sophia, after being married for four years, you don’t trust me at all, huh?” Leo’s voice drowned out the whispers around them.
Sophia was astonished and looked at Leo incredulously.
Leo actually had the audacity to speak to her in such a tone? That had never happened before.
How did he suddenly become so confident when he could speak?
Jessica quickly rebuked, “Leo, you have no place to speak here. Get out!”
“Auntie, I think we can let him give it a try. As long as he swears in front of everyone that if anything goes wrong during the treatment, it has nothing to do with the Henley family, and he takes full responsibility,” Gilbert suggested, a wicked grin on his face.
“Well…” Jessica suddenly thought that Gilbert’s suggestion seemed feasible.
Leo glanced coldly at Gilbert, then turned to the woman, saying, “Madam, if I can’t cure the acne on your face, I’m willing to take full responsibility. This is a private matter between you and me, unrelated to the Henley family or this company.”
Feeling the peculiar energy inside his body and the vast knowledge of medicine in his mind, Leo was confident enough.
Gilbert sneered inwardly, thinking, “Buddy, you’re in way over your head if you want to play with me. You fell right into my trap!”
To Gilbert, the idea of an incompetent man living off his wife being able to treat illnesses was simply absurd.
Upon hearing Leo’s words, Sophia felt a bit uncomfortable. Although their marriage was essentially a transaction, the Henley family had been overly harsh on Leo over the past four years. Despite that, Leo was still willing to help her.
“Fine, I’ll let you treat me. I hope you can really cure my face. Otherwise, you’ll bear the consequences,” the woman, whose name was Venus Toby, made her decision.
Venus Toby was the younger sister of Langstel’s wealthiest man, Harry Toby. She took a flight here specially two days ago to visit their sick father. Yesterday, after seeing her father in the hospital, Venus bought a bottle of moisturizing cream from Sophia’s cosmetics store in Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza. This morning, after using it, her face broke out in acne. So she came here.
Leo nodded and looked at Venus. “Please have a seat and wait for a moment. I’ll go out to buy some medicine and be back soon.”
Sophia, who was now at a loss, didn’t stop Leo.
Gilbert took the opportunity to taunt, “Is this freeloader planning to run away?”
“Shut up!” Sophia couldn’t help but yell at Gilbert. Leo might be a pushover, but legally, he was her husband. She could scold him, but no one else had the right to.
Gilbert sneered and remained silent. He was curious to see if Leo would actually come back.
“Mum, do you think Leo ran away?” Tina whispered to Jessica beside her.
“Wait and see!” Jessica replied impatiently. Although she didn’t hold much hope for this son-in-law who had married into the family, at this point, she could only wait for what would happen next.
To Gilbert’s disappointment, Leo returned after about ten minutes, carrying a bag medicine in his hand.
Fortunately, there was a Chinese medicine store not far from the Golden Leaf Shopping Plaza.
Leo walked up to the counter and opened the medicine bag, revealing a mixture of powdered herbs.
Then Leo found a plastic container in the store, poured half a box of water into it, and emptied the powdered medicine into the container. He used his index finger of his right hand to stir it.
During stirring, Leo activated the mysterious energy within him, allowing a small amount of it to flow into the mixture through his fingertip.
Soon, the watered-down powders turned into a paste. Leo picked up the container and looked at Venus. “Miss, please lie down on the office chair over here. I’m going to apply the medicine on your face.”
Venus approached the chair with mixed feelings and said nervously, “Young man, don’t fool me. If you ruin my face, I’ll ruin the rest of your life!”
Leo exuded confidence and said, “Don’t worry. After applying the medicine, your acne will completely disappear within five minutes.”
“Using some water and powder to treat acne? This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing. Leo, you should be more professional when trying to deceive people,” Gilbert couldn’t help but mock.
Leo turned his head and glanced at Gilbert with a cold gaze. “Gilbert, if you keep talking, I’ll throw you out of here. Believe me.”
Hearing this, Gilbert felt a tightness in his throat, recalling the immense strength Leo had demonstrated on his neck at the Henley family mansion earlier. He could only mutter under his breath, “Heh, I want to see the magical effects of your pathetic little trick.”
Leo then turned his gaze to Venus. “If you’re concerned that the medicine may be harmful, you can try it on your hand first.”
“Forget it, just go ahead.” With her face in such a state, desperate times called for desperate measures. Venus leaned back in the chair and lifted her face.
Leo began applying the medicinal paste to her face with his hands.
Soon, Venus’s face was completely covered with the paste, giving the appearance of a deep gray mask.
Time ticked away, and after five minutes…
“Madam, it’s done. Please go to the restroom over there to wash off the paste,” Leo pointed to a restroom in the corner.
With a mix of anticipation and nervousness, Venus entered the restroom and closed the door.
Two minutes later, a scream echoed from inside the restroom, “Ah, my face!”
In an instant, almost everyone’s gaze shifted to Leo. Some looked at him with sympathy, while others relished his misfortune…
Gilbert burst into laughter. “Look, something went wrong! Leo, buddy, don’t forget what you said. Prepare to face the consequences!”
Leo felt a bit nervous at this moment. After all, this was the first time he was experimenting with the methods recorded in his mind, combined with the mysterious energy within him.
“Leo, you should go now. I will handle it,” Sophia signaled to Leo with her eyes.
Leo’s heart skipped a beat. Was his workaholic, career-driven wife showing concern for him now?
It was truly an unprecedented moment.
Leo didn’t move. He wanted to wait for Venus to come out and see the results for himself.
The restroom door opened, and Venus walked out.
When everyone saw her face, their jaws dropped in unison.
Venus’s face not only had not a trace of acne but radiated a natural glow, as smooth and tender as a newborn’s. It was as if a magical transformation had taken place, making her look a decade younger in an instant!
This sudden transformation felt almost supernatural.
That was why just now in the restroom, Venus couldn’t contain her excitement and let out a thrilled scream. Not only did her complexion become fair and tender, but she also noticed that the fine lines at the corners of her eyes had miraculously vanished.
For a beauty-conscious woman, this change was absolutely breathtaking.
