Reconciliation and Happily ever after
Esmeralda
A sharp pain shot through my spine as I tossed in my sleep. The stinging forced my eyes open and a muffled scream tore off my lips.
I clenched my jaws, holding back my tears as I tried to sit up but failed.
Fuck!
Thanks to that bitch for shooting a poisonous magical arrow at my back that knocked me out for days, now I have to lie on my stomach until God knows when.
My mind flashed back to the fight between Phoebe and I.
The clash of two deadly and powerful sisters.
The fight was brutal, the deadliest, the toughest that only the strong ones could survive.
I survived.
I defeated Phoebe!
That was the greatest feeling ever.
I remembered how spells flew from different directions… a ball of protection spells, invisible spells, clocking spells… just name it.
If someone told me I would wage war against Phoebe and win years ago, I would have laughed it off.
I was glad I faced it head-on.
This was what me and my wolf had been preparing for all my life.
And it was a success.
“She’s awake!” Someone announced.
Someone familiar.
Someone I didn’t want to see.
The familiar scent of sandalwood, citrus and honey filled the room, relaxing my tensed muscles.
It felt good to inhale his intoxicating scent again, but I wouldn’t fall for him easily.
I turned away when he got closer to where I slept, feeding my eyes with the small farm that the old couples left behind.
Their bed was so soft, I could sleep all day long. Taking their room was the best decision.
I growled when his fingers brushed against mine and he withdrew his hands immediately.
I hated it when my body reacted to those wild sparks.
“You’ve been out for days, how are you feeling?” He said, brushing his hand in my hair.
My dirty hair.
I remembered how Phoebe dragged me through the mud. Almost pulling my hair from my scalp.
That jealous bitch!
“Don’t you fucking touch me!” I warned, moving inches away from him.
“I’m sorry…”
His words fell on deaf ears as something dropped in my head.
Selene!
I almost lost it at the thought of her.
“Selene?! Where the hell is Selene? Where is she?” I asked, attempting to stand, but I was pulled down by him.
“Don’t you fucking touch me, where is my best friend?” My blood boiled at his silence.
Hope it wasn’t what I was thinking.
Where was Selene?
The last thing I remembered was Selene casting a cloaking spell where she turned into me to distract and confuse Phoebe to buy us time in defeating her. But the bitch took Selene down immediately after she noticed.
As much as I hate to admit it, I appreciated Kade’s effort in helping me defeat Phoebe. His bravery was second to none as he charged at her while I was performing an invisible spell. Together we stabbed her through her dark heart.
While he stabbed her from behind, I stabbed her from the front so that she could see it.
I would never forget the look on her face when I twisted the knife in her heart and watched her body dissemble and turn into a cloud of thick dark smoke before it vanished into the thin air.
My heart raced in anticipation as I stared at his expressionless face.
Fucking say something before I lose it!
I hope that bitch didn’t kill Selene.
I would never forgive myself if Selene dies.
She saved my life.
“Where is…”
I was interrupted by a hug before I could finish my speech.
“Esmeralda,” Selene cried as she tugged onto me tighter, practically squeezing me.
“I thought I lost you,” She said, still squeezing me as she let out sobs.
“Thank God you are alive,”
“I’m sorry you had to go through all this stress because of me…” I tried to speak but I was choked by tears.
“I’ll do anything for you anytime. I already knew what I was in for when I promised to be by your side. My grandma told me I would meet you and when I do, she made me promise to protect you because that is my duty. That is the reason I am here,”
I wiped the tears from my eyes, holding her hands in mine, “Your grandma, did you see her?”
She nodded slowly and a faint smile appeared on her face.
“I didn’t. Before she died, she said I would see her again and I did. She was one of the reasons I came back to life. She, you and Cedric helped me come back,”
“Thank you so much,” A pang of guilt shot through me when I saw her scarred arm.
She had that mark because of me.
I felt bad. She always gets hurt because of my business.
My best friend.
She almost sacrificed her life to save me for my evil half-sister.
“It’s fine. It’s healed now and I’ll call it the mark of friends. All of us that fought had scars, including Cedric and Emerald. It’s the mark of survivors,” She said, cheering me, but the gloomy feeling still settled within me.
“It’s okay. Just rest. We will be going to the present world soon. My grandma told me the right spell when I saw her at the coven. It was good seeing her again,” Her eyes wandered to space as she smiled at an invisible thing.
I hissed loudly when I heard Alpha Kade clear his throat,” What the hell is he doing here?”
“Don’t be so hard. When I was casting the spell, I made a mistake and included Alpha Kade which is the reason he is here. And when he saw what happened, he joined the fight and you saw how he fought to take down Phoebe bravely,”
Was Selene on his side?
“It’s not my business… not like he cared about me in the first place,” I shrugged my shoulders, looking away from Selene and Kade.
Especially Kade. I didn’t want to see his face.
“Don’t be hard on him, he took down half of the soldiers, including Phoebe. I know my spells took the poison at your back, but his presence healed you because you are mates,”
“Whose side are you on, Selene,” I fired at her while she raised her hand in surrender.
“I’ll just leave you guys to it. I don’t think I can handle this,” Selene said as she walked out of the room, leaving us.
I leaned away from him.
I was so mad at him that I didn’t want to breathe the air he was breathing.
“Baby…” He started.
“Don’t even try it. My name is Esmeralda Harper and you will address me as that,” I stated clearly, “I see that you’ve gotten Selene under your wings,”
“I know that I hurt you badly, but it wasn’t intentional. I was mad and I wasn’t thinking straight. I didn’t know the consequence was you leaving me,”
You have to do better because it’s not going anywhere.
“I know that I treated you badly but I also protected you,”
“Protect me from what?” I flared, shooting him with hatred.
“The Pack was ready to set you ablaze when they got the news that Lucy was your cousin, but I didn’t tell anyone, I swear. The cell was the only place to keep you,” He explained, giving me a convincing look.
But it wasn’t working.
“So the best way to deal with the situation was to throw your mate into a cell like a dog and manhandle her best friend?” I screamed in his face.
My anger rose in me like lava, ready to explode.
But the lava started to melt when he went down on his knees before me.
“I have never done this before anyone. I have never knelt before anyone let alone a woman, but I am doing this to let you know how sorry I am. I hurt you badly, and Amelia won’t stop cursing me every day. Tyson won’t even talk to me. Even Jade and Madam Dora. I don’t even know what to do anymore,” Tears gathered in his eyes.
His fingers landed on my lap. I let them stay there… But for a moment.
“To even think that you cheated on me is something I’d never forgive you for,” I lashed at him, flinging his hands away as if they had a virus.
“I didn’t cheat on you,” He argued, looking at me strangely.
“Now you are lying,” I scoffed, letting out a burst of laughter.
“I’m serious. I never cheated on you,”
“Explain what you meant when you mind-linked me saying her juices were delicious,” I said pointing my fingers at him, “Fucking cheat!”
“I met a girl at the bar and she gave me nice juice that wasn’t processed. I only told you that to make you jealous,” He defended himself.
“If you think I’d buy that, you are a liar!”
“But I…”
“Explain the excruciating pain I felt after you said her juices were more delicious,”
I watched him stare at me in silence for a while.
“Now you can’t talk. What? Cats got your tongue?” I mocked, “You fucked another girl, don’t give lame excuses!”
“I don’t understand. All I know is I didn’t sleep with her. I’m sorry I caused you pain but since we are mates, you have to feel what I feel. The pains were a result of me hurting myself. I wasn’t thinking when I was doing it, I didn’t know you would go through pains,”
“You didn’t cheat?” I asked, reducing my voice.
“I would never cheat on you. Silvius is my witness and even the girl,” He replied sharply.
“An alibi,” I scoffed.
“Okay. I swear by the Moon goddess, my late parent’s grave, my sister’s grave and my brother’s grave, I didn’t cheat on you,” He affirmed.
A remorseful feeling settled in me and I regretted lashing out at him that instant.
“Please forgive me, Esmeralda,” He pleaded.
As soon as his hands touched me, all the anger I felt vanished.
“I’m sorry too,” I muttered, “I shouldn’t have judged you,”
“I brought your locket,” He dug his hand into his pocket and brought my Emerald locket, “I see you already have one,”
The locket I was given by Jade. She had our pictures in it.
“You don’t have to worry anymore, no one will bother you. Aphelion is dead. I killed him and the Dark Moon Pack is mine now,” He said as he oozed pride.
I was free from that demon Alpha.
“How did you know I was there?”
“When Amelia told me you were going to the human world, I figured out you would stumble across his borders. And he doesn’t take it lightly,”
“That’s thoughtful of you,” I commended.
“I am ready to make an amendment. I don’t care about your status but I know you are not an Omega anymore. As soon as we get home, the ceremony that I put on hold will take place and you will be announced as my Luna. Together, we will rule the Pack,” He said cupping my face in his large hands.
I kinda liked this new version of Alpha Kade.
He was much more romantic.
His face inched closer to mine when he wore it and his breath fanned my face.
I missed it.
We got lost in each other’s eyes for a moment before my eyes started to close and my mouth parted to let his lips in.
I waited impatiently as my heart thundered, waiting on his lips to brush mine.
“Oops,”
We pulled apart, comporting ourselves as Selene entered, smiling sheepishly.
“Unfortunately, we have to go now. There is an eclipse and this is the perfect time. If we miss this eclipse, we would have to remain here for the next decade,” She announced while we hurriedly left the room.
“What about Cedric? Will he stay behind?” I asked.
“He is coming with us to the Pack. I will make him my Delta,” Alpha Kade replied, melting my heart.
Who knew he had so much love and compassion in his dark heart?
I also found it hard to believe how he and Cedric took down the dozens of soldiers bravely.
“Stop staring at each other, love birds, you can do that at home. The eclipse here doesn’t last!”
*****
I had just had the best sex of my life after my introduction of being the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack.
I’ve never felt anything like this before.
The happiness in my heart was second to none.
Though the ceremony was long and tiring, it was one of the best things that happened to me.
I had always dreamt of this day of how I would go from being a poor miserable Omega to a powerful Luna and I was glad it came at the right time.
Thank you, Moon goddess.
I giggled lightly when my fingers caressed my bare neck.
Since Alpha Kade had marked me under the full moon, I couldn’t stop touching the beautiful scar.
I couldn’t stop staring at it.
I can’t wait to mark him tonight.
“Dinner is served downstairs, Luna,” a worker announced, snapping me off my thoughts.
“Thank you,” I replied with a smile as I made my way downstairs where everyone sat, awaiting my presence.
Jade, Madam Dora, Silvius and his mate, Lukas and his mate, Selene, Amelia, Cedric and the love of my life, Alpha Kade.
Luck smiled at Madam Dora as she found her second-chance mate during the ceremony.
Jade and Amelia were not left behind too as the Moon goddess gave them to their mates.
Soon, Jade and Madam Dora would leave the mansion as I already made them stop being workers.
They deserved the best.
The mansion was their home and they could have anything at their disposal.
They were not mere workers, they had become family.
“You may leave,” I said to Vanessa as she adjusted my chair.
Vanessa was still a worker anyway. Her rude behaviour didn’t get her anywhere.
“You are already here,” I said to Kade who gave me an apologetic look, “I thought you would wait for me,”
“Sorry hun, the food was enticing,” He said, kissing me on my forehead.
My eyes wandered to the plethora of food on the table.
“Are we having a feast?” I asked, laughing lightly.
“Yes, to celebrate our Luna. The Pack has been without a Luna for a long time,” Madam Dora said while passing more food to Selene.
I couldn’t stop laughing as Selene consumed the food before her and even took more food.
Pregnancy hormones.
She was heavy and if my instincts served me right, she will soon deliver her baby boy.
I was happy for her.
“Congratulations, Alpha Kade,” Selene said after gulping a glass of red wine. Her eyes lingered on my flat exposed stomach.
Her aura was pronounced. I could feel her powers.
She was a powerful witch now and she had mastered all the spells to my surprise.
“For?” Kade asked, shooting her a strange look.
“They are boys,” She smiled, stretching her hands over the table to cup mime.
“How did you fucking know?” I asked in surprise.
“I’m a witch. My senses are sharp hear their tiny heartbeats,”
Fuck.
How did I forget that I missed my period and the morning sickness?
“They are triplets,” Emerald confirmed in my head, “Congratulations,”
Was I really… pregnant?!
“We are having babies!” Jade and Amelia chorused excitedly.
“Congratulations, Luna,” Cedric and Madam Dora said.
“Congratulations Alpha,” Silvius and Lukas chorus, while Lukas winked at Kade.
I understood the meaning. It made my cheeks burn in embarrassment.
“Congratulations to us my love,” Alpha Kade whispered in my ears, nibbling my earlobes, “Thank you for carrying my heirs, I love you,”
“I love you too,” I hugged him tightly, planting a kiss on his lips and kissing him passionately as if no one was there.
Nothing else mattered. It was me and him forever.
The end.
