I CLEANED all day on Saturday, even though Alessandra had staff come to fix the house fornthe house blessing. I still hadn’t gone to work.
Elie confirmed to me that Mommy didn’t show up tomorrow, I didn’t even ask what happened to Mom as long as I was very grateful for what she did.
“Ah, Meredith!” Alessandra calls attention to me from downstairs.
I was on the balcony and wiping the glass door there. “Yes, Sandra?” the stingy smile flashed on me.
“Come here and join us for a snack!” she looked up at me.
“Uh, that’s okay! I’ll just finish cleaning this first,” my answer.
“Come on! Get that down here!” She ignored what I said.
I decuded to follow what she said and went downstairs to share a snack with them. They deliver food from a popular fast-food chain.
Nor did it forget to introduce me to those in front. “Guys, my new housemaid, Meredith” She introduced me to them.
My lips twitched because of what she did outright. I smiled a bit, to dispel the loneliness.
“They are my friends, Devorah and Ximena!”
“Hi we’re glad to meet you Meredith!” they grabbed my hand one before smiling.
“It’s nice meeting you too!” I immediately said. They look kind and smile. It also introduced me to some of her staff who gladly gave me a smile.
“Isn’t Ferry really going?” Alessandra told Devorah. We were at a rectangular sized table and had snacks at the same time.
“Hmm, I don’t think so. I’m still embarrassed by the scene he did at Galla villa.” she said to Alessandra while chewing the food on her mouth.
“I told her it wasn’t a big deal to you.” Ximena said promptly. I just quietly listened to their conversation while eating.
I noticed Alessandra shaking before focusing on the food.
“But I heard, they seem to be dating now with Zachary.” Devorah said to her.
“It was even Ferry who arranged that dinner date.” Ximena chuckled, and shook her head.
“She better apologized for what she had done to you. Gosh! It’s just really embarrassing.” Ximena exclaimed.
“I don’t have a problem with that,” she said.
“We know you’re not that kind of woman, and we both know that you love Gabriel so much. Then it’s impossible for you to trade Gabriel for someone else, even if maybe I won’t do that by chance.” Devorah said.
I swallowed hard, if I could just get up and leave them so I wouldn’t hear what they were talking about but I couldn’t.
“Good afternoon, Sir Gabriel!” A series of greetings from some staff made me looked at constantly.
He looks hot, wearing his dark long sleeve polo that slightly folded up to his arm and dark slack pants. So are his shiny shoes. The man is a charm to be sure, he has the right twinkle in his eyes.
And a voice that is more warm and sexy. “Good afternoon…” He greeted back and false a smile. I wanted to gasp as I watched him approach our direction.
“Wow, Mr. Magnus is hot.” Devorah whispered to Alessandra who was the one to start with two cheeks before meeting the visitor.
In front of us all unconditionally pursed their lips. Gabriel snakes his arm around her and pulls her closer to deepened the kiss.
I immediately bent down to avoid that scene, but I could not safely pinch to sink into my heart because of the scene.
If some staff hadn’t been tempted the two wouldn’t have separated.
I stood up quickly. “Ah, excuse me! I’ll just finish what I’m doing upstairs. I’ll be right back,” I said goodbye to Devorah who looked up at me.
“Sure, we’ll take care of it,” she waved her hands at me before I turned away.
I went straight inside with my heads bowed. Every step I take up is heavy. My knees trembled weakly. I need soothing like a child and if anyone will give it to me then, I don’t want anyone else but Zekiah.
“What are you doing up there?”
I quickly turned to the voice that spoke. Gabriel’s standing a few steps away from me. He looked up to trace the wrinkle on the foreheads.
“Uh, what-I’m cleaning upstairs,” I said nervously. I also quickly scratched the senses before averting my gaze.
He didn’t answer, my gaze hovered for a moment. I imitated what he did. I’m wearing a sleeveless shirt and a walking short. I gather my hair into a bun that now has almost fallen a few strands on my cheek and neck.
I look back at him with my face almost blushing with shame. But I only saw a disgusted look and irritation to his face. I pursed my lips and gripped the handrail forcefully. I’m afraid he’ll kill me If I look at him the wrong way.
He has already started to step up. My body reflexes genuinely move. It seems afraid of whatever he wants to do.
But he stopped a step from where I was standing. He’s certainly got that hot and sexy look stand tall in front of me. I have an urge to move sideways to give him enough space.
He just quietly passed me by. I inhale, the scent of him still lingered in the air. I couldn’t help but blink for a moment and smile bitterly.
I want to go back to the times when he was still mine. I want to wrap my arms tight around him and never let him go. I want to fall asleep to the pure sound of his heart beating, and taste the sweet kiss endlessly. I want to feel that again and I can say he is mine again… I open my eyes only to find out that things will never be the same again.
I wincing in pain. Every step feels like I’m dying, I don’t know what worse, but I’ll keep fighting for our relationship no matter how hard it is…
The next day I woke up early, almost before the sunrise I was already working in the kitchen. Even though Alessandra still has a caterer, I cooked breakfast for them early.
“Good morning!” I have greeted Gabriel warmly since I saw him enter the kitchen. He’s only wearing a Sando Shirt and a khaki short. The towel was slung over his shoulder, indicating that he was getting ready to take a shower.
“Coffee?” I asked him delightfully, I lifted his own mug of coffee.
He nodded, before going to the sink to wash. “Is Alessandra awake? I wish I could make her some coffee too?” I ask him while facing the coffee maker.
“Still asleep, she’s got tured last night,” he sparing this answer.
I swallowed as I turned my back on him. I couldn’t help but give an interpretation of what he said to me. Damn, it’s draw an early pain in my heart. I’m not a fool to not think they did nothing last night.
I didn’t realize that I was shaking one after another.
“What is it?” Gabriel asked me.
“Uh, no… Here is your coffee.” I gently laid it down in front of him and stood on the edge of the table where he was sitting on the capital.
I watched him sip coffee, which made him look up at me afterwards. “What is it, Emory?” he asked.
I was stunned by what he said, “Meredith, Gabriel.” I said softly.
His brows arch, momentarily stunned.
My eyes widened, I wanted to ask him if he remembered anything but I don’t want to risk putting him in danger, especially when I saw him hold on to his senses.
“Are you alright?” worried I said. I quickly approached him to grab his two cheeks.
“Are you alright? What’s wrong?” I asked a series of questions. It’s too late for me to realize the distance we have. My knees were shaking and my heart was pounding so hard, I seemed to want to blame myself for approaching him.
“I-I’m sorry.” I quickly pulled my two hands away but he quickly restrained it and held it tightly.
Strange dark eyes darted on me, those eyes shifted to a red fire, filled enough heat to feel my knees weak. The silence lingered between us. No one wants to talk. One, even the tension of its jaw on me seems to bring a thousand electricity.
He stood still holding my two wristbands. I lift up my chin, lips quivered so bad. I feel like my heart is going to come out of my chest because of this excessive humiliation.
But his eyes say otherwise. Angry eyes were just start then became the strut. He leveled me a glowering look that sunken my heart into the deepest sea. “Don’t you dare fucking touch me again, or else-” he said under his breath.
It was as if something was holding him back because of the tension in his jaw. My hands are hurting so bad, I slammed my eyes and hummed the pain. I was left speechless and tried to back away when he pulled me back.
Unable to resist, I slammed into his big chest. My lashes fall down and my willpower will soon evaporate. My heart was so full and I didn’t know how to get it up.
He let out a heavy breath before speaking. “I don’t know what you have. And that’s what I don’t want to know.” he said, his tone held icy decisiveness and a taunting edge to his voice.
I desperately need to answer back, but a few heavy footsteps from above are the reason for him to push me away.
