Sadness hung in the air as I played with my fingers for a while.
“You look so beautiful, Esmeralda. I am happy that you have finally found peace,” She said, breaking me from my thoughts and changing the topic.
“But what about you?” I gave her a worried face.
“If you are happy, I am happy too. I don’t care about having a mate, I just want to get hold of my magic. Grandma died before she could teach me,”
“How are the spells going?”
“It’s still the same. My spells don’t work. I’m just sick of it. Maybe I’m not a witch,” She groaned in frustration, throwing her hands in the air.
“You are a witch and a powerful one. Just believe in yourself and your spells. Your spells always bring me back whenever I am trapped in my mind with Phoebe torturing me. Give it time, they will work, trust me,” I said, engulfing her in a warm embrace.
“Yes, Luna,” She teased, making me break away from the hug almost immediately.

“What? How did it leak?” I asked in disbelief.
Who told everyone?
“I heard it from a maid who was telling a guard. They have been waiting for their Alpha to get a Luna all these years. The story is all over the pack. An Omega girl from the Crescent Moon Pack that was brought to the Blood Moon Pack to be a housekeeper suddenly turns the mate, of the Blood Alpha,”
“The pack is all itchy to see their Luna. They are waiting on Alpha Kade to officially confirm the rumour. Though some laughed at it, believing he can’t be Mated to an Omega. Because of some stupid story connected to a massacre that happened years ago. I didn’t get the explanation because it was part of the Alpha’s life and they don’t want to make it known to strangers,”
“You heard all of that?” My eyes widened in disbelief.
“Yes,”
A mixed feeling settled beneath my gut as thoughts flowed in my head.
Was I supposed to be happy or sad?
I knew he probably loves me and his feelings for me were growing stronger by the day, but does he love me enough to introduce me to his Pack as his Luna? Without minding the shame and embarrassment or the memory it brings?
I wanted to be a little optimistic, but deep down, I knew what would end it.
