Kade
Dashing out of my house at full speed, I almost collided with my workers who shuddered in fear after sensing my bad mood.
Get out of my way, bastards!
I growled angrily at them, ignoring their stupid greetings and frightened faces.
I couldn’t breathe.
Rage had its claws on me, almost choking me, making me suck in harsh breaths.
I could hardly see as I was blinded by my own fury. It consumed me, flooding my veins, quickening my blood, and stirring inside me like a volcano about to erupt.
I wished I could grab the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack this instant. I wished I could sink my claws into him and rip his heart out.
Fuck!
I shut my eyes, placing my hand on my head in an attempt to calm myself.
Breathe, Kade, breathe.
I told myself, shutting out my anger.
Good thing the dungeon was just a stone’s throw.
I trod into the dungeon as quietly as a mouse without startling Silvius.
Where was Lukas?
A gasp escaped Silvius’ lips, “Alpha,” He paused, bowing briefly, “I didn’t know you were the one,” He added. His face betrayed no emotions.
“Where is Lukas?” I asked, trying to keep my voice cool. My gaze swept across the familiar dungeon, landing on two middle-aged men shackled to a rock.
Exactly the way I wanted them.
Good job, Silvius.
“Lukas went to inspect the borders and to discipline the guards that slacked off their duties,”
I released expired air, fighting hard to relax my tensed muscles.
Bunch of irresponsible guards that took their jobs lightly.
They should be punished for letting a spy gain access to my Pack.
What if they attacked and caused a massacre like they did years back? Worse of all, they captured Esmeralda?
They won’t go scot-free without punishments.
Maybe rigorous torture and training sessions by Lukas, the Pack warrior will do the trick.
They were lucky it was Lukas who punished them.
They would have been long dead if I was the one.
“Did he drop them or someone else did?” I asked, leaning on the wall, diverting my gaze from the two idiots that hung from the rocks.
“He dropped the other guy himself, but he left almost immediately, promising to be back,”
“Have you tortured them?” I asked, unable to contain the excitement that sprang through me.
I couldn’t wait for these bastards’ torture sessions.
“I haven’t. I… I was waiting for you,” He stammered, wondering if he had done the right thing.
Delivering my prey brutally beaten was what I liked. But Silvius did the opposite this time.
“And is he talking?” A dangerous smirk played on my lips.
He better be talking. Else.
A long sigh left Silvius’ lips with disappointment washed upon his face, “He isn’t,”
“Hmm,” I hummed, tapping my fingers on the wall.
He is playing with fire! And I won’t hesitate to trample upon his ashes.
“Why are you giving my Beta a hard time?” I asked calmly before gritting my teeth and shooting the two idiots a deadly glare, “Why is it so hard to talk?”
I walked majestically toward them, slowly and steadily till I could see my shadow cast on the rock that they laid on, “Why is it so hard to talk?” I repeated, watching them keenly. I could feel my pupils dilate and my eyes turn black in fury. My wolf itched to take over.
I couldn’t wait to rip them apart and their silence wasn’t helping matters.
I narrowed my gaze, pinning it on my prey one after the other, giving them the deadliest glare. While one remained calm, his facial expression was blank, but the loud drumming of his heartbeat gave him away. The other wouldn’t stop gasping like he had seen a ghost. Goosebumps blanketed his sweaty skin and his mouth hung open as if screaming of an unseen horror.
Biting my lips hard to stop an incoming chuckle, I couldn’t help but notice how he looked at me in fear.
He wasn’t informed.
His gaze was confirming all he had heard about me in the past, from my prey.
Good to know that I was famous.
“Look who we have here. Wait till I’m done with you,”
“Please,” He whispered, awakening my previous anger, now my body was on fire.
He shouldn’t have done that.
“Who sent you?” I asked, directing my question to both of them, “Listen to me, don’t waste my time and don’t waste yours. Just answer the fucking question,” I groaned impatiently.
“There is no need to talk since you will kill us anyway,” The brave one said, “You are just wasting your time,”
Anger welled up in my chest, quickening my blood.
The guts!
I leaned closer to him, fanning his dusty face with my breath, “Am I?” A chuckle rolled from my lips, “I may be anything but not a time waster and I can assure you that in less than ten minutes, I’ll have you spilling all you know,” I boasted.
I was good with stubborn people. I knew that.
“Nonsense! You are talking nonsense. I will prove you wrong and in less than ten minutes, you’d be so frustrated to have me dead because I am not spilling anything,” He bragged.
Such lowlife bragging before me.
The audacity!
“Cut his balls off,” Tyson roared in my head, fuelling me with rage.
“I would have cut off your tongue and plucked out your eyes, because I don’t tolerate such disrespect, but I need you to say things and see things before you die,”
How much pleasure it will give me to see his eyes roll to my feet and have his wet tongue in my hand.
I am that ruthless.
“Like what?” He asked, daring me.
The curious bastard wanted to know.
I balled my fist, resisting the urge to punch him in the face, “I want you to see things that will frighten the hell out of you. Things that will make you lose control over your mouth. Things that will make you plead for your life, shamelessly,” I said coldly and I could see a flash of emotion in his eyes before they got replaced by his blank expression.
My words were getting into him.
“There is no amount of torture that I haven’t undergone and if you think yours will make me talk, you are just wasting your precious time,” He smiled darkly.
The bastard doesn’t know what is coming for him.
“Silvius!” I called, forgetting that Silvius was beside me.
“Yes, Alpha,” He bowed before locking his gaze with me.
“Get me boiled water mixed with sugar. Make sure it reached its boiling point before bringing it over,” I ordered, unconsciously flexing my hands.
Let’s do this.
Time to unleash what I was made of.
