Chapter 35 Extra Episode5

“Don’t hang out around me. Don’t talk to me. Don’t look at me. We don’t know each other.”, were the instructions Dylan have to me as soon as we got to school. “And don’t you dare try to get popular with my name. Don’t lie to people that you’re buddies with the Betas son”, he continued.
“I had no plans to.”, I shrugged, walking out on him.
“Hey! I wasn’t fine talking!”, he yelled, sounding like his dad whenever I say or do something stupid.
“I don’t want to be seen talking to you.” I said, not to loudly but loud enough for him to hear. He was quiet for some seconds like he was trying to process what I had just said, after a few seconds of silence, he finally spoke up.
“WHAT?!”, he definitely wasn’t expecting my reply.
His last yell earned us a lot of eyes, making me shrink and release a low hiss. I increased my pace so I could get as far away from him as possible but then he ran up to me. “What do you mean you don’t want to be seen talking to me?”, he frowned standing in my way.
“I figured you’d attract to much attention and I didn’t want that. So please can you move and stop talking to me. People are already staring.”, I basically whisper-yell, squeezing and pulling the bottom of my shirt to kick off the nervousness I felt.
“Why do nervous?”, he asked, actually sounding and looking like he cared but that only lasted for a second. “Having me around is a previledge you know.”, he said, moving out of my way.?
I ignored him, walking away, trying to create space between us but he just followed, probably trying to get on my nerves.
“What’s your problem?”, I pause, looking at him.
“It’s weird that someone like you don’t want to be around me.”
“Not everyone wants to be around you.”
“Yeah. The stupid ones wouldn’t want to be around me.”, he said with a playful smirk.
I rolled my eyes at his ego and continued my journey to get away from him.
“Do you even know where you’re going?”
I ignored his question, looking forward like no one was walking beside me.
“I hope you get lost.”, he said, rolling his eyes and leaving my side.
****************
“So you’re friends with Dylan?”, was the first sentence most people said to me before saying anything else. Even teachers did the same.?
I was hoping I’d be able to avoid all that but, unfortunately, I couldn’t.?
Seemed to me that Dylan barely had people he could call friends, though he was popular. The people around him were simple wanna be’s that’s why it shocked people to see him following me. They misinterpreted it and don’t seem to want to let it go.
“He never wants to play or talk. He’s almost a loner.”, my seat mate said. She had told me her is and he looks good. Let’s not forget about his position in the pack but he doesn’t seem to want to be around anybody.”, sounded like she was complaining.
“Okay.”, I said sounding as bored as I looked. I lost interest in the conversation a long time ago. I was wondering why she was still talking.
“Ugh. That reply again.”, she said, rolling her eyes.
“Is Dylan the only thing you know how to talk about?”
“Thing?”
“Yeah. Thing.”?
“Well… He seems interesting so…”
“If you’re so interested in him why don’t you go talk to him and stop trying to use me as a link or something.”
“No. Why would you-”
“I’m new doesn’t make me dumb. I know when I’m being used. C’mon. Why else would you want to hang out with me. I’m boring. There’s nothing interesting about me and I barely give reliable responses.”
“Uh”
“If you really want a link. Try someone that he actually cares about. Just cause you saw us talking doesn’t make me special to him. Alright?”, I was tired of the Dylan talk. That’s all it’s been today.
Dylan Dylan Dylan
“I’m sorry…”, she trailed. “You were right about wanting a link but I was actually hoping we could be friends too.”
“Why are you guys so interested in Dylan?”
“He’s the Beta’s son. Its only natural that he’d get so much attention. Besides, the Alpha’s son gets almost equal attention. Should I tell you about him?”
“No thanks.”, I sighed again. School’s such a disappointment.
“You know… I heard that if you talk to a person a lot the moon goddess would make you his mate.”
“Is that why you want to talk to Dylan so badly?”
“No… Yes… No… No… Maybe. I don’t know. I want to be good friend I guess.”
Before I could think of a reply, the classroom’s door flung open, causing the whole class to go silent.?
“Avery.”, Dylan called out my name, taking a quick look at the class to find me. People watched him with so much interest like he was some kind of movie, yet he didn’t seem to even notice.
As soon as he spotted me, he walked up to me, looking at me the same way he always does. “School’s over for the day. Why are you still in class?”
“I’ll leave when I want to.”, I’d rather stay in school and endure listening to people praising Dylan than go back home and endure what ever crap my dad has installed for me.
“My dad won’t leave if you’re not in the car. So get up.”, he commanded.
I frowned, ignoring him and giving the random pen that laid on my desk the attention.
“Um… Hi.”, My seat partner shot her shot and by the way Dylan painfully ignored her, you could tell it was a hard miss.
“Avery. Don’t be stubborn. Let’s go. I’m tired.”, he complained
I let out a light sigh, inwardly trembling at the thought of returning home but no one would have guessed. I could hold it in.
I didn’t want to waste Mr. Arthur’s time.
I followed Dylan out of the class, he led me to his dad’s parked car then we got in, immediately being asked how our day was by Mr. Arthur.
“My dad would’ve been better if she wasn’t in it.”, Dylan gave his answer
“Right back at ya, homie.”, I shot back at him, rolling my eyes while he glared.
“Annoying.”, we both muttered as the car zoomed off.
