After he Introduces the producers, he continued his little speech.
“Thank you for coming here tonight. I also want to mention the lead of this show, the man is good, he portrayed his role very well and…” he paused looked at the crowd like he was looking for someone, I am here hiding in the corner. Then I and saw him sigh and continued, “And the lead actress looks very promising, she is talented as well as beautiful.”
After his speech, he went down at the stage then went out of the hall.
I saw the producers rushing over to me, and then he called, “Where have you been? We’ve been looking all over for you.” I looked at Haden’s departing back. After I’m sure that he’s gone, that is the only time I showed up to them and went to the front row.
“I went to the bathroom earlier,” I said to the producers with a straight face. I need to come up with an alibi so they can’t figure out that I am hiding from Haden.
“Hurry up, and the actors will be on stage soon. Look at yourself, go to the dressing room, and let them do your makeup. Double time Elena!”
I hurried to the dressing room and looked for a makeup artist, but I can’t see anyone in sight.
When I was about to go back, someone grabbed me and I was shocked when I realized that It’s Haden.
“Let go of me, why are you still here? Let me remind you Mr., that we are already divorced.” I grabbed my hand back.
He then handed me a car key. I looked at him confused, “This is? ”
“Nothing, go check on our kid tonight he kept calling you. He is not feeling well because he has a fever. ” Haden looked away. At that moment, my heart completely collapsed so Eaden has a fever? If only I am always there for him, but the situation is different now. I looked at Haden and said.
“I will come over for dinner, but I can’t accept this key. I have my own car.” I said to him and handed the car key that he gave me.
Haden nodded and walked away. After that, I continued to look for the makeup artist and finally found one.
“Hi Ms. We are about to go on stage, and so I need a quick and simple makeup.” The makeup artist nodded and began my makeup
After the event, I went home to get change then headed to Haden’s house.
My car was parked at the familiar mansion. I got out of my car and walked to the front door, I stayed outside of the door for a while, sigh before opening it.
The first sight that I saw was Haden playing with Eaden on the floor. Haden has an apple at the right hand and a banana in the left hand and he asked Eaden, “Do you want an apple? Apple-apple!” Haden with his baby voice
“Banana.” Answered by Eaden while laughing. The scene was so refreshing.
After hearing Eaden actually said a simple word felt like I had missed so much of his growth. So I walked over to them and when Eaden finally noticed me, he called me, “Mommy, mommy.”
Eaden’s voice made Haden suddenly freeze and his smile fade away. He looked at me with a flash of excitement in his eyes.
“Mommy!” Eaden exclaimed with a “Whoa!” opening his small hands and limping towards me like a penguin at a run. “Mommy, Mommy.” I ran over and picked Eaden up, Eaden rubbed my face with his cheeks.
Eaden looked at me and looked at Haden, he hugged me and wouldn’t let go.
“Daddy, Mommy. You’re here, stay with me.” Eaden said with a hint of sadness.
I looked at Eaden for a while and said, “Mommy is here. I won’t leave for a while,” he smiled at me and hugged me again. Haden stayed quiet.
Haden was afraid to bother me, so he stood up, sat down at his working table, and worked on his laptop alone.
After 30 minutes of playing with Eaden, Haden called out to eat dinner. He just ordered something in the nearby restaurant… After eating, we continued playing. Every corner of the house smelled so familiar.
Before I knew it, it was midnight.
The little one wouldn’t let up and said, “How about mommy goes back to daddy?” he then focused his attention on me. “How about you sleep here tonight?” I nodded my head. I wanted to disagree but for the sake of Eaden, I will stay a little longer.
I went to Eaden’s room and waited for him to fall asleep. When I saw him sleeping, I went to our old room to rest for a while and saw a bottle of sleeping pills on the bed. Since when did Haden take sleeping pills? Was he a bad sleeper?
I turned around and saw Haden, He had one hand in his pocket and a cigarette in the other. Smoke is filling the room. “What happened to you Brother? My heart clenched violently.
“Brother.”
Brother? Haden froze for a moment.
Haden’s POV
She’d called me that before, but then she’d been so disgusted with me that she wasn’t even halfway polite to me anymore.
Why did she suddenly call me that again?
On the contrary, she used a gentle tone that she had never used on him before.
“The boy is sleeping deeply. So I’ll go ahead first, I will come back tomorrow.”
As I expected, she hadn’t wanted to spend the night here, she just wanted to spend some time with her son to fulfill her wishes. “Wait a minute,” I said to her and started changing.
Her back stiffened and she paused for a moment before turning her head to me, trying to keep her tone calm, “Is there anything else, brother?” she looked so confused.
“It’s too late and unsafe to drive. I will drive you.”
“……” She froze.
“You’re not going back?” I said out of nowhere, I just can’t help myself asking.
“Brother, are you okay?” she asked me.
At that moment, for some reason, I wanted to cry so badly. I turned away. I still love her, I always remember the times that we are together, to the point that I am having trouble sleeping. Pushed the cigarette into the ashtray.
“You’re leaving. “I said before unwanted the words come out of my mouth.
“The ……” Elena rubbed her palms nervously, still not daring to look me in the face.
“Actually, I think … if, how about ……” she stammered. I am so confused about what she’s trying to say
She stole a glance at my expression. “How about we get married again?” she asked, I am so confused on what she is asking is she serious right now?
I stammered. “What do you mean?” I asked her again.
“Let’s get married again.” She said with a straight face.
Ever since the day she had filed for divorce, I had felt like I was being pushed to the ground by fate, and for the first time, and now I believed in something like fate.
I thought the last person she wanted to marry was me, that she never liked me. It was like this marriage was doomed from the start, we just weren’t of the same world.
I had no expectations, and I knew she wouldn’t come back to me. But now she’s said she wants to marry me again. It’s impossible to describe the mood at that moment, as the dark clouds of weather suddenly clear up against a clear sky.
“Haden, you don’t need to hurry to answer me either. You can think about it if you are done thinking, tell me your decision right away. ”
Is there anything to think about? I loved her so much that I even used our own son to prevent her from leaving me. Why the sudden change of heart? Did she really loved me?
A lot of questions are running in my mind that I don’t know what to ask first. I kept being silent.
She laughed dryly twice and said, “I’m leaving, take your time. I will wait for your decision.”
Elena’s POV
Seeing that he wasn’t responding, I walked out of the house. I think he doesn’t want to get married again. When I saw him earlier with Eaden I realized that I am missing out so many things and can’t let that happen anymore. I let my anger win over my love for him.
I entered my car and started the engine. Haden is still inside the house. I tried to wait for him, after 10 minutes of waiting I drove off, but Haden suddenly blocked the car. I went outside the car. And I heard him say
“Pack your things and I’ll pick you up tomorrow, I will take you home with me.”
The following day, Haden stood alone on at the door of my house.
Berry got out of the car with Eaden in his arms.
