“Yes.” I said with a low voice.
Haden opened his hand and said, “Since you’re here, you should sleep here. Come beside me.” While tapping the space on his side.
He pulled back the blanket for me, and I dutifully lay down under it.
I lay down and moved over to his side and rested my head in his arms. It felt cozy and comfortable.
I felt him placing a gentle kiss right where my neck and shoulder met. My knees went weak, my whole body was going numb as he breathes. I can hear the sound that keeps coming from his mouth. I can feel into my neck that he is smiling and chuckling. He took all my weight in his arms as I leaned fully against him to keep me from falling over. I felt like I was in absolute heaven.
It takes a moment until it felt uneasy. I came out of his room with my hair disheveled and with a suspicious blushing on my face. It was like I had done something bad and was afraid of getting caught, so I hurried back to my room and went into the bathroom to take a shower to feel refreshed. As I was about to leave, Haden suddenly came up to me and grabbed me in his arms. He hugged down to his bead and spread my legs to let them rest astride his lap. Now we are cuddling in an awkward position. He seemed to especially like hugging me in that kind of position, but I felt so ashamed every time he does that.
After hugging for a while, Haden suddenly said, “I can see that you’ve been too tired with the kid lately, I’m going to take you out this weekend to relax. You deserve such a rest day.”
“Huh? Where are you going to take me?” I curiously asked.
“To Hawaii.” He mumbles.
“Then I should pack the baby’s things now in advance.”
“No, he is staying. It’s just the two of us.” He replied.
I was hesitant for a bit. I’m not sure of what he just said, I couldn’t leave Eaden. I just cannot bare not to see him for a long time. But on a second thought, it’s also fine for a couple to travel alone for some times. We also need it and it’s not like something bad will happen to my son.
It’s Saturday. Before I left, I hugged and kissed Eaden for a while, “Mummy will just be gone for two or three days, I will soon get back okey?”
I said a short goodbye for my little one. I cannot barely leave him but I know he is being taking cared well by the people in the house so I’m assured.
We arrived to Hawaii. It was a nice sunny day as expected.
Haden had booked a very beautiful room which I did not expect. I could see the beautiful breath-taking view of the endless ocean. We slept to gain energy for the following day.
The sun was already up in the sky when I opened the curtains in the next morning. There is a clear blue sky, definitely no clouds. The turquoise sea was reaching into the distance to meet the azure sky. It felt really refreshing in the mind seeing such view.
I can see people below, they were in their bikinis already having fun on the beach. A salty sea breeze blew in with the summer heat, which is refreshing rustles the leaves of the coconut trees on the beach.
As I was being mesmerized by what I’m seeing, I suddenly received a call from Dermon.
“Are you and Haden together?” He asked.
“Hmm.” I replied.
Dermon sighed softly, “Be careful with him.”
I wanted to say that Haden and I were on vacation, but I didn’t want to waste any more time explaining to him.
“Okay, I get it.” I just said to end the conversation.
I hung up the phone and I saw Haden’s gaze fell on me.
He asked with a curious voice, “Dermon?”
I nodded my head.
“Did he tell you to be careful with me again?”
I didn’t answer.
“I guess he does not feel good with me after I pissed him off on the last time we met. If I butt in to your conversation and tell him that he can’t fool you, of course he’s going to try and mix things up a bit.”
“Actually, he is just your adoptive parents’ child after all, do you remember the old feelings you and I have? You two have the same situation we are before our son was born. I have no objection to the relationship you two have, but still take a little caution.” He warned.
“He and I are just saying hello as friends.” I ended.
Haden nodded a little and said nothing more. After a moment of silence, he suddenly said, “Come here.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Give me a hug.” He said with a commanding voice.
I was surprised, I can feel my cheeks was warm, and I went obediently to him, hanging my head low his chest and not daring to look at him.
I walked to him and stopped, waiting a while for him to stop hugging me.
“Aren’t you going to … hug me?”
“Well, you must hold me.” He commanded.
I wrapped my arms around him. Then he stretched out his long arms and suddenly snapped off the lights in the room.
His lips pressed to my ear and whispered in an airy tone that I can feel his warm breathe, “You’re only mine.”
I did not say a word. We just hang in there for a bit until he lets me go. We went down the hotels’ restaurant to have our breakfast, after it we return back to our room to change in beach outfits.
We wore a couple clothes with a typical Hawaiian floral design. It was a cute beach dress with matching hat and some shorts and polo blouse for him. We walked on the shore, we took some photos together and then sat at the side and watch the waves came back and forth. I still cannot keep my son out of my mind as I was sitting there. I missed him already and wanted to hug and kiss him. After some time, we headed to our hotel to have our lunch, and then we swim in the hotels swimming pool. We also went to the beach and had fun until the afternoon. We spend a quality time together for our first day in Hawaii. For the following day, we made a lot of activities, it was fun and at the same time I am also excited to go home for I’m missing my son more and more.
Finally, after two days of having fun, we took a private plane back home. I was so happy seeing my baby. I immediately held my boy and sat on the couch and talked to him. I missed him so much.
“Hello, it’s Mommy. Mommy missed you so much, did you miss me too? Can you say mommy?”
I was hugging him so tight because of excitement. I can feel he misses me also for he was so happy when he saw me.
His eyes looks at me with happiness as I stared at him, suddenly his mouth formed into an “M” as if he wanted to grant my request.
“Mommy, I’m Mommy. I’m your mommy, and you’re my baby. You say Mommy” I was repeatedly saying him when suddenly,
“Mommy.” A particularly clear phrase “Mommy” suddenly came out of his mouth, he was screaming very hard as if he was using a lot of strength to call out.
I was afraid I may have misheard it, so I said with teary eyes “Ah, did you just say mommy? Can you say it again? Say mommy again please. M-O-M-M-M-Y.” I was not expecting those from him, I got so happy to hear them but still uncertain if I did hear it right.
I looked at my baby with excitement and nervousness. My cute little one seemed to hold his breath for a while before calling out, “Mommy.”
I was so touched I wanted to cry and said to Haden, “Brother, did you hear that?
Haden heard it too, of course. He put down the dishes he was doing and came over to me and taught the good boy another phrase, and he really followed.
“Mommy.”
A very clear pronunciation. Nothing could explain how happy I am, it felt like I won a lottery upon hearing my son saying Mommy to me. It warms my heart.
Haden’s face lingered for a few seconds as I taught him, “Can you call for your daddy also, you say daddy.” Haden was looking at his on so intently, as if he was so excited and expecting the words ‘daddy’ would suddenly pop out of Eaden’s tiny mouth.
I also make him say it. “Our good boy, say Papa. Say it.”
