The evening was calm. A gentle breeze carried the sweet smelling scents of different flowers, spreading it all over the garden. Emma’s heart was filled with delight as she strolled through the garden next to her favourite person. The garden was filled with daises, roses, and tulips among other flowers, creating a very colourful scene. This matched with Emma’s mood which was cheerful. With her hand in his, they walked along the cobblestone path, letting their hearts speak to each other.
Lucius was telling Emma about his childhood. He narrated to her about funny adventures he and his friends had engaged in while in the garden. As he showed her different places, she felt like she was reliving his childhood with him, and it strengthened their connection.
“What?” Lucius suddenly said and stopped walking. He seemed to be listening to someone via mind link. Since Emma had been integrated to the park, she was now able to mind link with other pack members. After the mating process, she and Lucius’s bond had grown stronger and she could now feel his emotions and read his mind when he allowed her. Emma could feel that Lucius was getting worked up by whatever he was hearing. She got closer and placed her am around him, waiting for the link to be disconnected.
“What is it?” she asked when he was done.
“It’s a vampire,” he said. “There’s one at the gate.”
Emma sighed. She wondered when the vampires would stop disturbing them. A few days ago, the vampire king had been overthrown because the vampires were also tired of his tyrannical rule. It was said that the new ruler was more compassionate and he had already started drafting new laws to prevent vampires from terrorizing werewolves for no reason. Apparently, the man was calling for more harmony between the two species.
“What does he want?”
“He wants to warn us about something,” he said. “Come on, let’s go.”
The vampire was a very tall and thin young man.
“Who wants to attack us?” Lucius asked him.
“Like I’ve told your men, it’s a pack of rogues. They destroyed our camp a few days ago and killed two of my friends. I overhead them saying they were headed to this pack.”
“Okay. Can you tell us more about them?”
The man shook his head. “I didn’t see them clearly, but what I know is that their leader is a woman.”
Emma and Lucius glanced at each other. With Axel dead and Michelle locked up, they thought they’d have some peace.
“I wonder who it could be,” Emma said.
“I don’t know any woman who would want to attack me,” Lucius said. “It must be someone who hates you.”
Emma had made a number of enemies when she was a rogue so it was hard to pinpoint which ones might be most interested in revenge.
“Maybe it’s Andrea.”
“The overseer from Venom Pack?”
“yes, maybe she’s mad that we killed Axel White. Maybe she loved him.”
“While you two guess who the person might be, I need a place to stay the night.”
“If I find out that this is a trick, I’ll kill you.” Lucius assured the man.
“I swear I’m telling the truth. Just don’t follow your usual routine tonight. I’m hoping they didn’t see me coming here.”
Lucius said. “Jared, take him to the house and make sure to keep an eye on him the whole time.”
That night, everything was different. The pack guards and warriors were briefed on the situation and they prepared adequately. At around two o’clock in the morning, a witch tried to break down the invisible barrier protecting the pack. The warriors lay in wait and waited, thinking she would not be successful.
To everyone’s shock, the witch was strong enough to break it. This barrier had been put in place by a very powerful warlock and only a blood relative of his could break it down. It later turned out that he and his teenage daughter had been estranged. That’s why she came to destroy what he had created with her rebellious friends.
Fortunately, the pack was ready. They let the rogues come out of hiding and start trying to break in to the pack house. When the warriors started attacking, the rogues were caught by surprise. They didn’t know what had befallen them until it was too late. They were only five and were caught easily by the trained warriors.
They were kept in cells until morning when the Alpha and Luna went to identify them. Emma was shocked to find that the leader was Alison. She had thought Alison had moved on from what they went through because of her. Apparently, the woman could keep a grudge. Alison and her friends were later moved to the prison were Axel had been imprisoned.

A week later…
Emma stood outside the hall, a flurry of emotions swirling within her. It was her wedding day, a day she had grown up dreaming of, but had come to believe would never come to pass. The wedding was taking place at the best hotel in the town and most of the guests were already inside the indoor venue. Emma was overwhelmed with nervousness, her hand trembling lightly while clutching the bouquet of flowers. Her mind was racing with millions of thoughts.
The nervousness was soon replaced with excitement when he maids of honour joined her. The sound of soft music drifted through the doors. Emma took a deep breath and reminded herself that she was about to marry the most amazing man in the entire world.
As she made her way down the aisle, her anxiety faded, replaced by grace. She could feel the love and support of everyone in the church, and that filled her with joy. Time seemed to slow down when she saw Lucius, standing tall and handsome at the altar, waiting for her. He smiled tenderly and for a moment, it was like the world belonged only to the two of them. Emma could feel the tears welling in her eyes and she tried hard to fight them back. Her steps become lighter as she drew closer to him.
When she reached the altar, their eyes locked and they exchanged warm smiles. Their hands met and strong feelings spread through them. As they stood face to face, Emma knew that the new chapter of their life was going to be a beautiful one.
The beginning of their love story had been tumultuous, filled with all sorts of problems. But now, all Emma could feel was peace and joy. Everything had fallen in place. When she thought of the future, all that came into her mind was a happy picture.
When he kissed her that day, in front of hundreds of people who loved them, she felt sure they would always be happy together. They were now one, and would always be. Forever and always.
