It was the night of the full moon. As darkness drew closer, the guards checked all the slave quarters to make sure there were enough reinforcements to ensure that none of them escaped. The cages were reinforced with wolfs bane and the slaves starved throughout the day to ensure that they were weaker than usual. Emma was still in solitary confinement so the door was locked from the outside. The metallic door was too strong for her to break even in her wolf form.
Being locked up in human form was bad enough. Being locked up in werewolf form was absolute torture because that was when a werewolf was supposed to be most free. Emma was certainly not looking forward to the experience.
Suddenly, the door opened and Ken stood there.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Emma asked him.
“Today is the best day to escape. The boundary around the pack will be done so that everyone can be free to run as far as they can. This only happens on the night of the full moon. That’s why the slave quarters are reinforced. We have to leave today.”
“Are you sure we won’t get caught?”
“I don’t know if we will get caught or not, but this is the best time to try. I’m going to leave your door open. I’ll wait outside the building. When you notice that you’re about to turn, run outside as fast as you can. When everybody has turned, they’ll all be running into the forest and won’t notice you.”
“Okay, I’ll do that.”
“Okay,” Ken kissed her lips. “I’ll see you soon.”
Ten minutes later, Emma started to feel subtle changes in her body that came before the turning. She stepped out of the room and looked into the dark hallway. She couldn’t see anyone. She felt her back starting to contort and started running towards the nearest exit. When she came out of the door, she saw Ken turning outside the building.
Her bones started twisting and she went on all fours, her limbs developing claws and fur growing all over her body. In less than a minute, she had turned into a beautiful silver wolf. Ken’s wolf was brown. Their glowing eyes glanced at each other before they set off, running in supernatural speed. Other wolves of the pack were also heading into the woods.
Emma was shocked to pass through the border easily and into the forest. They did not stop running until they had passed the territories of two other packs. When they found a river which wasn’t owned by any pack, they stopped there. They rested for a few minutes in their wolf forms before starting to hunt. They found a deer in the forest and managed to bring it down before feeding and falling asleep in a small cave.
The sun was shining bright when Emma woke up. She stood up and went to the opening of the cave. Looking outside, she smiled. “I’m free,” she said, laughing happily. “I’m free from Axel White.”
She stood there for a while, watching the beautiful sunrise. After a very long time, she was feeling truly happy again. The world was hers for the taking. It was finally time to continue doing what she and Tommy had started, discovering the beautiful gifts of the earth.
Suddenly, she felt hands on her stomach and a warm body behind her. Emma smiled. She had forgotten that she was naked and there was someone with her. Her body heated up immediately and she bent her head.
“I thought you ran away from me,” Ken said, kissing her neck.
“I was planning to,” she joked.
“Really?” Ken said. “Well, it’s good that I woke up just in time, isn’t it?”
Emma turned and started kissing the man roughly. She rubbed against his length for a while before leading him back into the cave. She pushed him to the ground and positioned herself, before sliding down. Throwing her head back, she rode him and enjoyed how good it felt.
Lying on his side later, Emma started to feel bad. She was really starting to have feelings for the kind young man. Parting with him was not going to be as easy as she had earlier thought. She glanced at his sleeping form and felt tempted to touch him.
They stayed in the cave for some hours. Luckily, Emma found some clothes inside the cave. They were for men but she had no choice but to put them on. She had no idea where they were so they had to move. They found a small town after moving for an hour.
“What are we going to do now?” Ken asked.
Emma didn’t know what to say to him. She looked around and saw some flyers on the ground. She picked up one and started reading it. “Saturday night rave @ Hikers Lounge. Tonight at 7pm. everyone’s invited.” Emma smiled.
“We shall go to the rave,” Emma said. “At least we’ll find something to eat and get to know where exactly we are. I might even get someone to help us.”
“Okay. How are you going to find something good to wear, though? You look horrible. Everyone will know that we’re rogues.”
“Yeah, but not everyone hates rogues. Everyone is usually invited to raves, even rogues. I’ll probably seduce some man and he’ll do whatever I want.”
“That makes me uncomfortable.”
“Yes, I know. I won’t be doing anything with them. We just need to get some clothes, a little money and we’ll leave this place. Trust me, being a rogue isn’t that bad when you have money. If you have nothing, it’s terrible.”
Ken was silent.
Emma placed her hand around him. “I promise not to leave you until you find your mate. If we don’t find her, we shall stick together. So you don’t need to worry a lot. I had to do some of these things even when I was with Tommy. He had to as well, because we needed to survive. No wonder axel and the rest hate us. We are willing to do a lot of not-so-good things to survive.”
“Okay,” Ken said.
“Now let’s look for something to eat,” Emma told him.
