Mr. Wrong

Book:The Alpha's Enslaved Mate Published:2024-6-3

After hours of begging, Letty finally decided to give me some of her make-up. The makeup she kept was mostly reserved for the seamstresses but there was no law forbidding the rest of us from using it. She warned me to apply it light because she didn’t want to suffer another punishment because of us. If Dane noticed, she would say Maryanne and I stole the makeup which would get us into tougher punishments.
All I wanted was a little attention, from Kyle. He was good looking enough for the job. That was all that mattered since I did not have feelings for him.
The first morning I applied makeup, Kyle said I looked great. I smiled as he carried his breakfast away from the table.
I felt happy. Being ignored by the man who was supposed to love me had done a number on my self-esteem so it was great seeing someone appreciate my looks. It made me feel better. I was not the useless trash bag alpha Ridian thought me to be.
When I was washing that day, I picked out Kyle’s uniform and gave it enough attention, making sure to get rid of all the stains. The uniforms had names so it was easy to know the owners. My hands had developed callouses from vigorous washing everyday but I was starting to get used to the drill.
Kyle and I started having almost all our meals together, chatting about our previous lives and a lot of other things. He was great company and sometimes made me forget my woes.
He reminded me of my former best friend Janine. We had grown up together, and were like two peas in a pod. No one could separate us.
We were very different in personality but still remained very close. A lot of people wondered how that was possible.
She had been by my side through thick and thin. Even when they came for us, Janine still remained by my side. She begged for mercy on my behalf but alpha Aragon’s henchmen were not having it. We were separated.
Now that I was not in the pack anymore, the mind-link had been broken. I could not even speak to her that way. Since I had not been accepted as a member of Blackmoon pack, I couldn’t mind link with the members. I was an outsider that could be tossed away when time came.
Five days later, I was ready to get close to Kyle. I didn’t want to do it, but I had to. I had no idea if I’d go all the way but knew something had to happen. Kyle had revealed to me that he’d not found his mate, and I lied to him about my status.
My hands shook lightly as we ate dinner. When two men who had been seated next to us got up and left, I took a deep breath before speaking.
“So Kyle,” I began, placing my hand on top of his. He looked up and our eyes met. I tried to portray the look of a deeply infatuated girl. “Can we meet later?”
“What time?”
“When everyone is asleep,” I said. “When do you guys sleep?”
Kyle smiled. He had probably realized what I was up to.
“The guys sleep early because of all the work. By nine, everyone is knocked out. We can meet in the woods behind your wing. Dane can sniff out anything happening on this side. Actually today is Thursday. On Thursdays, he escorts the alpha to the mineral exchange post.”
I wanted to know more about the mineral exchange post but realised it was not that important at the moment.
“Okay, will see you then.”

The first time I checked the clock in the hallway, it was 8:50 so I decided to go and wait for Kyle outside. I sat on a boulder that was shielded by a bigger one from the two buildings.
A few minutes later, I heard footsteps and within seconds Kyle made his presence known.
“It’s been a while since I’ve done anything other than talk,” Kyle said, pulling me into a warm embrace. It felt good but good was not what I needed. If I hugged my mate, I would literally feel my body burning. That was what I needed. This would do for the meantime.
Soon, his fingers were tracing lines on my lips before taking them in his. Our lips moved in sync but I noticed he was a bit fast, trying to release all the pent up lust in him.
His hand found it’s way under my bra, moving until the back where it let the bra straps fall loose. Returning, it touched my breasts, emoting a slightly dull fire but it was good enough for me.
I broke the kiss and got rid of my blouse, throwing it to the ground. My wolf was getting angry so I blocked her. I knew she was not happy with my decision but some things had to be done.
Kyle crouched down and moved until his lips were almost touching my left breast. I tried hard to ignore the feeling that I was messing up big. Suddenly, Kyle stood up.
“Did you hear that?”
“What?” I asked.
“Something moved,” he said, picking up my clothes and handing them to me.
I froze, my senses perking up. I could sense it. Someone was hiding nearby but it was not the alpha, unless he was hiding his true scent.
Quickly slipping my shirt down my head, I rose. “Let’s go.”
“You go,” he said. “I’m going to investigate.”
“Let’s just go. If someone saw us, there’s nothing we can do about it. We’ll have to face the punishment if we have to.”
“Leave now,” Kyle said.
I ran out of there as fast as my legs could carry me. Our residence was quiet and still save from the soft sound of my sandals as they hit the floor. There was no one in sight, and all the lights in individual rooms had been turned off.
That was close, I thought as I opened my door and slid into the room.
I had to be careful next time.
