Vanessa’s POV
I blinked my eyes to wash away the heaviness.
Everything was blurry that i couldn’t even see the face of the person standing beside me.
How long did i even sleep? The scenario of what happened came replaying in my head.
I hope I’m not dead yet cause i have a lot of things to do.
I turned to my right and tried to blink the dizziness away one last time.
There was a maid standing close to my bed with care and concern in her eyes.
“A cup of water” i said pointing at the jug on the standing which she understood and rushed to get it for me.
“Here it is. How are you feeling now, are you still feeling pains?” She asked. Making me wonder who she is or where she came from cause I’ve never seen her here before.
She used her right hand to feel my temperature before collecting the empty glass of water from me.
She might be a doctor. Cause only doctors treat sick people.
“Where’s Nathan? I asked. My voice more like a whisper than talk. I was too weak to stand up as i could sti feel the soreness from my legs.
“He has gone to the dungeon” was her reply.
“Can you please call him for me? I really need to speak to him” i requested.
“I’m sorry ma’am i was warned by the Alpha not to leave your side” she bowed slightly.
“Why, is there anything wrong? Why would he ask you to watch over me? Is he protecting me from something?” I asked cause I’m already scared of being chased by anyone.
I don’t even know when my legs will be healed for me to be able to walk.
“But when is he gonna return? I asked ready feeling lonely without him here.
Whenever we’re together he always say or do something that makes the atmosphere lively.
“He never told when he’s gonna return” she answered. Making me doubt if she’s a doctor as i presume her to be.
“Who are you?”
“I’m the Alpha’s personal maid”.
“What are your duties then?”
“I have no duty”.
“Why would she say that? I mean every maid in this mansion has duties. Either in the kitchen or bathroom. Why would she say she has no duty” i thought to myself.
“I only do what the Alpha ask of me. I have no permanent duty. That means i have no duty” she answer wholeheartedly.
I really don’t know why I’m scared of making friends after my encounter with Anna and Meredith. I feel like they are all the same and…..”
“You look beautiful and i like you. You’re not like the rest whose lust for power and wealth made them evil”
She cut my thought short. I’m really dumb i can’t even say anything to her. Like i lost my tongue after hearing what she said.
Something inside of me told me she’s not just a maid.
“The Alpha is here. I plead to take my leave.
“It was nice spending time with you and i would love to spend more with you after I’m fully recovered” i told her.
“Did anyone come i here after i left?” Nathan asked the maid.
“Yes. ma’am Isabella came”.
“What did she say?”
“She asked me to go and make something for her to eat” the maid whom i got to know as Deborah said pointing towards my direction.
“Did you do it?”
“No Alpha king. I told her of your warning that shouldn’t leave this room. But she insisted that i go prepare something for her”. She bowed slightly.
“Then what happened next?”
“She wanted to force me out when the Luna came and asked me not to go”.
“Where you planning on leaving before?” No Alpha king.
“Thanks for not leaving her side Deborah and for this you shall be rewarded” than Alpha king. I plead to take my leave now.
“Sure you can and do take care of yourself”
“Yes Alpha king”.
He came and sat close to me on the bed.
“How are you feeling right now” he asked with concern in his eyes.
“My legs are hurting real bad”.
“Is so. eone after my life? Why did you ask Deborah no to leave my side? Is something wrong?”
“Yes i guess. Zack was kept and tortured in the dungeon but he pleaded of not knowing what was wrong with him”.
“Did you believe him?”
“I had to. Zack has never done something like this before, he’s been my friend and believe him. I think there’s someone here who’s after your life”.
“Don’t you think i should leave?”
“No, that would be more dangerous as it will be easy for them to hunt you down. So you ha e to stay in here and Deborah will be assigned as ypur personal maid” he said stroking my hair.
“But they won’t stop hunting me. They might harm you cause of me. I need to leave before it gets any worst”.
“You’re gonna be fine, you just have to believe me. Everything is gonna be fine, trust me” he assured in a calm tone.
I was given some food to eat before taking my drugs.
Since the incident , i haven’t gone outside. Now i know how it feels like to be bedridden.
“Oh my child, you’re awake. How are you feeling right now? Do you still feel any pain? Have you eating?” She asked countless of questions that i don’t even know how to answer all.
“I’m fine” was the only thing i was able to say.
She sat close to me examining my body.
“You’re gonna be fine soon, you just need some rest and no stress.
Writer’s POV
“This wasn’t my plan, thais wasn’t what i wanted” Isabella barked to herself.
She paced around the room in anger throwing anything that comes close to her away including the wall clock and her phone.
“I need to see mother, she might help. I don’t think i can do this alone” she stomped her foot before walking out.
“Jerome!!!” She called in anger.
“Yes future Luna” he bowed slightly.
Of course that’s what she has ever wanted. Being called the Luna and she can’t wait to make that dream come through.
But one person is the hindrance and that is Vanessa.
“Get me my horse” she commanded with authority.
As soon as he left to get her horse, she quickly pulled out the portion and sprinkled it at the doorstep.
“Here is the horse” he handed it over to her.
She mounted on it and rode out of the mansion. And he dare not ask her where she was going to.
But unknown to Isabella, someone saw her. But who could that be?
