Archie watched her close the door and leave. He felt frustrated for no reason. He turned around and walked out of the balcony outside the bedroom. He put his hands on the railing of the balcony and looked at the passing cars on the street not far away.
Actually, he could feel the little girl’s disappointment. But he really didn’t want to tell the truth to stimulate her.
He would make her think that he was going on a business trip for work. At least, she wouldn’t have any emotional instability, and wouldn’t let her imagination run wild.
The frustration in his heart could be calmed down for a long time. Archie took out the cigarette in his arms and lit it.
The smoke shrouded his handsome face, and under his deep eyes, there was an indescribable dark color.
Emma used her fingers to unconsciously press the button of the elevator.
However, her mind was in a mess. Archie had lied. He had actually lied to her.
What kind of work did he have to go on a business trip? He had lied to her, this big liar.
Why didn’t he tell her the truth? Why did he hide it from her? Was he afraid that she would be mentally weak and unable to accept it?
He had really underestimated her. She didn’t care about all this since a long time ago. She just wanted to hear the truth from him.
Why was he unwilling to say it? Archie, what exactly do you think in your heart?
The elevator finally arrived. Emma walked in with large strides. Her small face was stiff and gloomy, and she had a lot on her mind.
Forget it. Why was she so conflicted? Even if Archie really loved her, he would not tell her everything.
She went to the supermarket and bought a lot of things, including many snacks that she didn’t eat before.
As expected, spending money could make a person feel relaxed. Emma carried three big bags of things home in one breath.
When she opened the door, she smelled a faint smell of smoke. Her two beautiful eyebrows knitted together.
Archie walked out of the bedroom and saw her thin little hands carrying three big bags of stuff. He frowned.
“What are you buying so many things for? If you need anything, I will ask Uncle Suan to send it to you tomorrow.”
Of course, he felt sorry for her, so he blamed her.
Emma raised her eyebrows disapprovingly. “Anyway, I will not go out for a few days at most. I will buy more things to come back. At least I will not starve.”
“Don’t go out to buy things by yourself in the future. I will ask Uncle Suan to find someone to specially deliver it to you.” Archie took the initiative to take the three big bags from her. When he lifted them up, he realized that they were so heavy. He really didn’t know how she had brought them back.
“No need to trouble Uncle Suan. Be careful that your grandfather finds out again.” Emma opened the bag and stuffed the food she had bought back into the fridge. Her small mouth, however, answered quickly.
“I feel sorry for you!” Archie stood behind her and said in a low voice.
Emma’s movements froze for a moment. She turned around and looked at him. When she saw his gentle and genuine eyes, her heart felt stifled for no reason.
“Archie, I can’t rely on you anymore. I’m afraid I won’t even have the basic ability to take care of myself.” Emma stopped being stubborn and said with a bitter smile.
Archie smiled and stretched out his hand to pinch her tender face gently. “I really don’t know what you are thinking every day. You even have to worry about this?”
“Yes, I am actually quite worried. When I was in Quinsley Family, I thought that I could not ask Quinsley Family for money anymore. I’ll work hard to learn. Every time I take an exam. . . I tried my best, but ever since I met you. . . I found out that my efforts were all gone.” Emma sighed and then. . . She silently took the vegetables and walked towards the kitchen.
Archie was still following closely behind her. When she was washing the vegetables, he reached out and wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing the entire embrace onto her body.
“The sense of worry shows that you are very proactive in life. This is a good thing.” Archie softly and hoarsely breathed hot air into her ears.
“Don’t disturb me while I wash the vegetables. You can go to the living room and watch TV.” Her ears suddenly heated up. It was a numb and itchy feeling. It ran through her nerves like an electric current, making her unable to even take washing the vegetables seriously.
“No, I have to stick close to you like this.” Archie was like a rogue, unmoved by loyalty.
Emma could only compromise, “Alright then, you can stick to me however you want!”
In the end, Emma was washed halfway before she was carried into the bedroom by the man and pasted all kinds of things.
“Archie. . . ” When her love reached the deepest part, Emma subconsciously muttered his name.
“I’m here! I have always been!” The man’s gentle voice echoed in her ears.
Emma reached out her hand and tightly wrapped it around his neck, sticking her sweaty little face over and caressing it.
Half an hour later, Emma held onto her small waist that could not be straightened and glared at the satisfied Archie with some resentment.
Archie smiled wickedly. “What’s wrong? Still not satisfied?”
“Of course not, I’m already very satisfied!” Emma was so scared that she quickly retracted her resentful gaze. If Archie continued to torment her, she would not have to wake up tomorrow.
“But I felt that the way you looked at me just now was not enough!” Archie lazily buckled the buttons of his shirt as he replied jokingly.
“No!” Emma was so scared that she quickly grabbed the bedsheet on her body and got off the bed to take a shower.
A man’s proud laughter came from behind.
“Bad guy!” Emma hid in the bathroom and took a hot shower. She suddenly heard something in the kitchen.
She quickly changed her clothes and walked over to take a look. She saw Archie rolling up his sleeves and actually cutting vegetables himself.
“You. . . What are you doing?” Emma blinked her black eyes and asked him uncertainly.
“Seeing how hard you worked just now, of course I have to do something to make it up to you.” Archie concentrated on chopping the vegetables as he replied in an extremely evil manner.
Emma’s face instantly became hot and she softly retorted, “Who worked hard? I didn’t.”
“Yes, passion is like fire. It can even more explain your actions just now.”
“Archie, can you speak less?” Emma became even more embarrassed.
But it could not be denied that just now, she seemed to be. . . Overly enthusiastic.
The dinner was prepared by Archie himself. Emma had become an idle person.
When the four dishes were placed on the table, Emma served the food for the two of them and picked up a piece of vegetable to bite. “Archie, why do you suddenly want to cook for me?”
“Do you think the food I make tastes bad?” Archie did not answer and asked back.
“No, I just. . . Feel that it is not real. In the past, I heard how noble and cold Young Master Archie was, but I really didn’t expect you to have the potential to become a chef.” Emma smiled, but she felt satisfied in her heart.
“These words are not all false. I am indeed very cold to others, but to you. . . It is very different.” Archie answered frankly, but his eyes were still staring at Emma’s small face.
Emma received the affection from his eyes and instantly lowered her head shyly.
After this meal, Emma’s mood became even more complicated.
With her personal intuition, she discovered that Archie’s feelings towards her did not change.
But why didn’t he tell her about his grandfather’s birthday? It was really hard to understand.
Archie stayed with Emma until nine o’clock in the evening. Of course, besides watching TV for a while, she was pestered by Archie on the sofa again.
“Archie, you should go back quickly. Don’t you have a business trip tomorrow?”
“Yes, my flight is at three o’clock in the morning!” Archie reluctantly kissed her on the corner of her lips.
“Then why don’t you go back and sleep for a while.” Emma pushed him away and looked at his face with concern.
Archie then had to tidy up his clothes and whispered, “If you need anything, just call Uncle Suan. I have already told him. No matter what, he will come and help you.”
“I know!” Emma nodded.
“Then I will go first. When I come back, I will bring you a gift!” Archie kissed her forehead greedily again. “Remember to miss me!”
Emma felt a little dizzy from his kiss and the corner of her mouth curled up. “Will you miss me too?”
“Of course, at all times!” Archie answered very confidently.
Emma was stunned and then saw him walk out of the room. He looked at her deeply and closed the door.
“At all times? Me too!” Emma stretched out her finger and pressed down on the corner of her mouth that she had kissed before, muttering softly.
It was close to dawn but Emma did not have a trace of sleepiness. There was something hidden in her heart and no matter how she slept, it would not be peaceful.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
At this time, who would call her?
Emma quickly got up and took the phone to take a look. It was actually Yoseph calling.
“It’s so late. Is something the matter with President Yoseph?” Emma deliberately maintained a very polite relationship with him.
“Judging from your voice, you seem to be very awake?” Yoseph had a faint smile on his face.
“Is President Yoseph very bored? If there’s nothing else, I’m going to sleep.”
“Luisa will also go tomorrow! Madame Sandford and your mother Minlan will also go!” Yoseph said casually.
Emma was upset and her tone was a little stiff. “Why are you telling me this? Anyway, I am not going.”
“Has Archie not mentioned this to you yet? Aren’t you curious if Archie and Luisa’s marriage will be discussed at tomorrow’s birthday?” Yoseph’s voice was still light, as if this matter had nothing to do with him.
“Yoseph, why do you keep reminding me?” Emma suddenly realized that Yoseph did not want her to have a good time.
“Emma, there are a lot of things. I hope you can use your eyes to see and find the real one. Don’t be fooled by the illusion.” There was a layer of concern in Yoseph’s tone.
“What real one?” Emma’s heart trembled.
“Why don’t you go and take a look?” Yoseph was still provoking her.
“Grandpa Grafton doesn’t welcome me. I don’t want to provoke him.” Emma replied self-deprecatingly.
“You don’t need to go to Grandpa Grafton’s birthday banquet. Just treat it as going to relieve your boredom.” Yoseph was still trying to persuade her.
Emma furrowed her brows and finally said in annoyance: “Then I will think about it again. I will hang up first!”
“I will leave at six o’clock in the morning. Think about it carefully and give me a call.” Yoseph did not have any intention of forcing her. After saying that, he hung up the phone.
Emma was lying on the bed and could not sleep even if she rolled and turned. Would Luisa go? Grandmother and mother were also going. The elders of the Sandford Family were also going. Was something really going to happen?
