“You can go out for a walk and get some fresh air sometimes. I will be with you whenever you want.
“It’s good for you. Don’t be mad,” Derek cupped Serina’s face and said.
“OK, I won’t be mad,” Serina rolled her eyes and replied.
“Don’t roll your eyes. What if the baby likes to roll his eyes like yours?”
Serina glared at Derek and threw his pillow at him while yelling, “Shut up and leave! I don’t want you in here!”
“Goodnight,” Derek caught the pillow and sighed, and he left the room.
Serina was furious.
She tossed and turned on the bed and couldn’t sleep for a long time.
Derek always hugged her to sleep. Even if he did not hug her, she could still see him when she turned around. She could always feel him.
It felt wrong when she was alone.
She liked to sleep in big beds before. She always felt that she could roll over freely and sleep better. However, when she had the big bed for herself that night, she felt lonely.
Serina did not sleep well that night.
When she got up in the morning, she rushed to Derek’s room and found that he had already left.
“Mr. Darion has already gone to work. Breakfast is ready, and it is full of nutrients. Do you want to eat it now?” the maid asked.
“Did you notice Mr. Darion’ face? Did he has dark circles under his eyes?” Serina crossed her arms over her chest and asked.
The servant was baffled by Serina’s question. It was strange.
The maid smiled awkwardly and replied, “I didn’t see dark circles under Mr. Darion’ eyes.”
“Is that so?” Serina stomped and returned to her bedroom.
‘I kicked him out and did not sleep well the whole night, but it didn’t affect him? He just had gone to work like that? He must’ve slept like a baby!
I shouldn’t care about his reaction that much,’ Serina thought.
Derek came back from work at dinner time.
“How did you sleep last night, honey?” Derek looked at Serina and asked.
Serina pursed her lips and answered, “Amazing! Sleeping alone is better than I thought! Peaceful and free.”
She was saying that on purpose. Serina always had the feeling that she needed Derek more than Derek needed her, and she didn’t like that.
Derek smiled with relief. He had thought that she would not be able to sleep soundly without him.
“OK, then. As long as it’s best for you and the baby, I can sleep in another room,” Derek replied.
“Sure!” Serina nodded and continued to eat her meal.
For a few days, Serina and Derek slept in separate bedrooms. Derek didn’t even say once that he wanted to sleep in the same bedroom with her! Serina was fumed.
That was outrageous.

Serina walked into a place surrounded by thick fog. The blowing cold wind made her hug herself.
She could not see anything clearly because of the fog.
“Is anyone here? Derek? Cherry? Blueberry? Where are you guys?” Serina shouted.
She started to panic when she realized she was the only one there.
All of a sudden, she heard someone’s hysterical laugh. It echoed through the fog and made Serina’s hair stand on end.
Serina stopped when she realized someone had just emerged from behind. The person behind her grabbed her neck to choke her.
Serina was suffocating.
“Who are you?”
“Who else could it be other than your beloved and respectable sister?” Serina heard a snaky voice.
“Marco? You finally showed up!”
“Yep, I did! You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this day!”
“You have to turn yourself in or run away and never come back! You can’t be here!” Serina turned around and suggested.
“You want me to turn myself in or run away? That’s hilarious!”
Marco started to laugh, and her laugh got louder over time, and it echoed in Serina’s ears like a curse.
“Let me tell this, little sis. You ruined my life, and I am determined to ruin yours!” Marco looked at Serina and said cruelly.
Serina was startled.
“You have this perfect life of yours because of me, and it’s time to take back everything I gave you!”
“What do you mean you gave it to me?”
“You didn’t know? If it weren’t for me, Derek wouldn’t fall in love with you. If he didn’t fall in love with you, you wouldn’t be the respectful Mrs. Lambert and wouldn’t be the mother of his children! I gave that to you!”
“Mommy!” When Serina was baffled by Marco’s words, she heard Cherry’s voice.
Serina looked up and saw Cherry and Blueberry were standing in front of her.
Marco raised her gun.
“Cherry, Blueberry! Run! Go find your dad!” Serina shouted as loud as she can, but it seemed like they couldn’t hear Serina’s voice and walked to her.
Marco pulled the trigger.
Cherry was hit.
Serina heard the gunshot again.
Blueberry was shot, and Serina saw her daughters lie in their blood.
“No!” Serina closed her eyes painfully and begged, “Please don’t hurt my daughters!”
“Can’t you see? Your daughters are already dead!” Marco smiled cruelly.
“Let Serina go, Mar!” Derek appeared from nowhere and yelled at Marco.
“I will, if you promise you will never leave my side!” Marco grinned.
“OK, I promise.”
“Derek! No!” Serina shook her head and screamed at Derek.
“Our daughters are dead. We have no ties now. I want to be with Mar.”
The next second, Serina saw Marco throw herself in Derek’s arms, and they caressed each other’s faces intimately, like lovers who had reunited after a long time!
Serina looked at them and shouted in fear, “No!”
“Silly me! Almost forgot about the one in your belly!” Marco sneered.
She raised his pistol again and added, “How can I let this one go? I had planned for this for such a long time! You will suffer when the ones you love the most leave you one by one, and you won’t be able to do anything about it!”
“No! Not the baby!” Serina covered her belly. She wanted to run, but she felt like her feet were nailed to the ground.
“Please don’t hurt it!” Serina begged.
Marco didn’t care about Serina’s plead. She walked towards Serina and tripped her. Serina felt enormous pain when she fell to the ground.
She looked down and saw blood. Lots and lots of it.
“Look at you! You can’t even protect your children, Serina!” Marco chuckled.
“No!”
Serina screamed and woke up.
She sat up immediately and found that she was soaked with her sweat.
She turned on the light, lifted the quilt up, and looked down. Seeing that she wasn’t bleeding like her dream, she was relieved.
Serina put her arms around her legs and started to cry.
She was startled! The scene in her dream was way too terrifying.
“Serina!” Derek shouted and slammed open the door.
He ran into her room and rushed to her bed. Serina saw him and hugged him tightly.
“I had a really bad dream, Derek,” Serina cried.
