At this time, the liquid in the IV bottle ran out. The nurse removed the needle for Serina.
“Mrs. Lambert, have a good rest. If you need anything, just ring the bell.” The nurse said.
“Okay, thank you.”
“In addition, your arm and calf were shot. Fortunately, the injuries are not serious. You can get off the bed and move around. However, you have to be careful and gentle. Or else, you might reopen your wounds.”
The nurse carefully instructed.
Serina nodded.
The two nurses went out.
Serina was lost in thought.
She did not remember anyone else at the scene last night. She only remembered the dogfight with Zoe. Zoe kicked her hard on her temple. She was already exhausted at that time, and soon she felt dizzy and fainted.
She really could not recall what happened after.
There was one more thing that Serina found very strange. Derek knew that someone had saved her last night, but he did not tell her about it and even moved the person who saved her to another ward.
It was not normal.
As she was thinking about this, the door opened and Derek came back with Cherry in his arms.
The look on his face was serious and he frowned.
“How is Cherry?” Serina asked anxiously.
Derek shook his head, “The psychiatrist said that Cherry was too frightened and she’s now in a bad condition. The kidnap really freaked her out and she was not as calm as Blueberry…”
“Did the psychiatrist say what to do?”
“You don’t have to worry too much. Cherry will have to have therapy once a week and the psychiatrist wants us to create a quiet and cozy environment for Cherry. It would be best if it was the environment she was most familiar with, and it was not ideal for her to stay in a place like a hospital. And she would feel safe if she can be taken care of by people close to her.”
“Then you should take Cherry home. I can say for sure that she doesn’t like the hospital. She had a bad experience being hospitalized last time. You should take her home and stay with her.”
Derek looked at Serina worriedly. “Serina, you are also in the hospital now. I…”
“You don’t have to worry about me. Take Blueberry with you. It’s bad for them to stay in the hospital all the time. I’m fine.”
Derek sighed. Serina needed him, and the children also needed him. It was really difficult for him to make a choice.
“Alright, I’ll take Cherry and Blueberry home first. If you need anything, just call the servants. There are also bodyguards outside. I’ll figure out a way to fix this and come back to you as soon as possible.”
Derek freed a hand and rubbed Serina’s head.
Serina said with a smile, “No need. Just take care of the kids.”
Blueberry happened to wake up. Serina picked up Blueberry’s coat and said, “Blueberry, you are going to go home with Daddy. Come on, put on your coat.”
Blueberry rubbed her eyes, took the coat from Serina, and put it on. She then got out of bed in a daze.
“Then I’ll leave now.”
“Derek!” Serina suddenly shouted. She wanted to ask who saved her yesterday.
“What’s wrong?” Derek turned around.
It suddenly occurred to Serina that Derek was already very busy. She should let him deal with the things at hand first.
“Nothing. Get home safe.”
“I will,” Derek smiled.
Then, Derek left the ward with Cherry in his arms and Blueberry following behind.
Serina sat alone on the bed and sighed.
She had an ominous premonition.
Things had been settled and Zoe was dead. Although Cherry had been frightened, all four of them were okay. However, for some reason, she felt uneasy.
Serina got out of bed and strolled around the room. She was bored and decided to go out for a walk.
As soon as she stepped out, two bodyguards stopped her.
“Mrs. Lambert, where are you going?”
“I’m just going out for a walk. You don’t have to follow me.” Serina did not care too much. She knew that Derek was worried that something would happen to her again.
But the bodyguards kept following her.
When Serina was about to go upstairs, the bodyguards immediately rushed to her and said, “Mrs. Lambert, it’s better not to go upstairs. You just got better. If you want to go out, you can walk in the corridor.”
“Yes, Mrs. Lambert. It’s so tiring to go upstairs. Let’s take a stroll on this floor.” The other bodyguard hurriedly echoed.
“What’s wrong with me going upstairs? I know what I’m doing. It’s totally okay for me to go upstairs.” As she spoke, Serina moved forward.
The two bodyguards immediately stopped her.
“Mrs. Lambert, why don’t we go downstairs and take a look? There are only wards upstairs, so there’s nothing to see. Shall we accompany you to the small garden in the hospital?”
Serina suddenly realized something. “I can go anywhere, but I can’t go upstairs, right?”
The bodyguards felt awkward. “Of course you can. But there are only wards and patients upstairs. If there’s an infectious disease or something, it won’t be good for you!”
“What if I insist on going up?”
Serina looked at the two bodyguards with her arms crossed.
“Mrs. Lambert, please don’t make things difficult for us.”
“Alright then.” Serina went back to her ward.
The two bodyguards heaved a sigh of relief. This was a mission Derek had given them before he left. They could not let Serina go upstairs.
Serina returned to the ward and sat on the bed, feeling even stranger.
The two bodyguards were easy to read. They didn’t even know how to lie. There must be something wrong with this!
Derek must have ordered them to stop her from going upstairs.
The woman who saved her was in the ward upstairs, but Derek refused to let her go there. There was definitely something wrong!
No, she had to go upstairs and take a look. She must know what was going on!
Suddenly, she heard a voice outside the door.
“We hope to get a statement from Ms. Serina.”
“We have to ask Mr. Darion for permission,” one of the bodyguards said.
Serina immediately walked to the door, and as soon as she opened the door, she saw two people in a police uniform standing at the door.
“Do you want to take a statement?”
“Mrs. Lambert, we need to call Mr. Darion…”
Serina raised her hand and said, “There is no need to call him. I can give a statement now. I still have some important details to tell the police!”
The bodyguards looked at each other. Anyway, it was just a statement, so it should be nothing.
“These details are very private. The two of you don’t have to guard at the door. I want to eat desserts. The two of you can go and buy some for me.”
The bodyguards look at each other in dismay, “Mrs. Lambert, are you sure?”
