“Alright. Tell me if there is any news.” Derek stood up, nodded at the two police officers and then walked out.
A lady looked exactly the same as Serina.
With all the information, Derek suspected that she was Marco.
However, Lauren had Marco killed. How could Marco still be alive?
Derek thought as he walked towards the ward.
He knocked on the door and heard someone come.
Derek became nervous. Was she really Marco?
The door opened.
Derek could see the lady in front of him clearly.
Yes. It was Marco.
Derek was surprised. He just froze and didn’t say anything.
He was just like a pillar.
Marco broke the silence, “Can’t you recognize me after being separated from each other for so many years?”
Marco smiled. Her smile was as bright and beautiful as before.
However, Derek found it strange.
“Don’t you dare to enter my room? Are you afraid that I am a ghost?” Marco spoke again.
Derek walked into the room.
He could smell smoke. Derek smoked too and he would smoke when having dinner with business partners.
He was familiar with the smell. And Derek could also smell perfume.
“How did you…”
“Why am I still alive?” Marco chuckled, “Of course I am still alive. Do you want me to die?”
“I don’t mean that.”
“Alright. I won’t ask you to guess.”
Marco told Derek how she survived.
It was nine years ago.
Lauren’s killer, Hassan, was a man in his early thirties. He was a special force abroad and had worked for Lauren for a long time. Killing Marco was not his first task.
Lauren had asked him to kill people before, such as the arch-enemies of the Saint Group and those who was against Lauren. They got into a car accident or got poisoned. And no one could find out the truth.
But Marco was an exception.
Hassan was shocked when he got Marco’s information. Marco was only seventeen years old. He wondered why she had offended Lauren.
Hassan was even more shocked when he first met Marco. What a young and beautiful girl!
Hassan was moved by Marco’s bright eyes.
“Are you going to kill me, Derek?”
At that time, Marco did not know much about the world. She was just a little girl who grew up in an orphanage and was little educated.
“This is my task. Sorry, I must kill you. Otherwise, I will fail to complete my task,” Hassan said seriously. But he turned his face to the side, trying not to see Marco.
“Please don’t kill me. I have no parents and I grew up in an orphanage. I did nothing wrong. Why do you kill me?” Marco knelt in front of Hassan and held his hand.
Hassan shook off her hand and said, “You offended someone.”
“Who did I offend? Derek fell in love with me. Is it also my fault?”
Marco cried bitterly. She grabbed Hassan’s hand and begged, “I beg you. Please let me go!”
Marco pleaded again and again. Hassan was a little moved.
“I beg you. Please let me go. Pleased let me go!” Marco said with tears.
Hassan closed his eyes. His hand trembled a little. For the first time, he found it difficult to shoot.
“Do you have a passport?”
Hassan suddenly asked.
Marco wiped away her tears and answered, “Yes. Derek applied one for me. He said that he would take me abroad next month.”
“I will send you abroad. Don’t come back again!” Hassan closed his eyes and turned his head to the side.
“OK. I won’t come back! I swear!” Marco raised her hand.
Hassan sent Marco abroad.
Hassan saw Marco off at the airport.
“Don’t come back in the future. This is all I can do for you. Whether you can survive abroad or not depends on you.”
Hassan was very clear that even if he sent Marco abroad, she might not survive.
Marco was so young. How could she support herself overseas?
“You are a good person. Good people will be rewarded. Don’t worry. I will try my best to survive.” Marco waved to Hassan and left.
Hassan returned and found a body of a little girl who died in a car accident in the countryside. He told Lauren that it was Marco.
Lauren told Derek the same thing.
Marco had never appeared again. It was impossible for her to come back. Because she could not even afford a ticket.
The story finished.
Marco turned her back to Derek and wipe away the tears in the corner of her eyes.
Derek sighed.
“Why didn’t you contact me?” Derek asked.
Marco answered, “Is it a good idea to contact you? Lauren has long wanted me to die. If I contact you, she will find that I am still alive.”
Derek was silent for a long time. He had never thought that he could see Marco again.
Marco turned around, stared at Derek and asked, “Derek, how have you been all these years?”
“I’m pretty good.” Derek only said three simple words.
“That’s good.”
Knowing that Marco was still alive, Derek did not know how to face her. He looked up and said, “I’m leaving because I still have something else to do. I will ask a lawyer to help you apply for innocence. Don’t worry. It will be excessive self-defense at most.”
“All right.”
Derek turned around and walked out.
Marco didn’t seem to have changed at all. She was still the same as Serina. However, Derek felt that something was wrong.
However, he didn’t know why.
The only thing Derek knew was that Serina shouldn’t know that Marco was here for the time being.
So, Derek immediately asked Hayden to come over.
Hayden had seen Marco before. He was also surprised.
“Try to accommodate Marco in the ward upstairs and don’t let her be so close to Serina.”
“Yes, Mr. Darion. What a coincidence! You just asked me to investigate Ms. Marco, and she appeared.”
“Don’t tell Serina that I have done an investigation.”
