A phone call at midnight must come from someone important or for important matters.
If it was Hayden, then there was no need to avoid her at all.
Serina muttered. She held the quilt and hesitated.
Then, she put on her pajamas and walked to the door of the bedroom.
The door wasn’t closed. When Derek went out, he was too anxious to close it.
Serina could only quietly stand by the door, listening to the sound outside.
It was night now. The children were asleep. The room was quiet. No matter how low Derek’s voice was, she could still hear it vaguely.
“Didn’t I say that we should stop contacting each other?” Derek’s voice was low, and there was even a bit of gloominess.
On the other side of the phone, Zoe seemed to be crying. “Derek, I am begging you. Please help us. Webber Group will go bankrupt. My father is hospitalized. He is old. Please help us.”

If she had not heard wrongly, the person on the other side of the phone should be Zoe!

“An investor. He wants to invest in Dark Empire. Dark Empire is not something anyone can curry favor with.” Derek lifted the quilt and got on the bed.
