Aleena’s POV

Because of the date now, I had to unpack two of my bags and take out all the red dresses which I had with me. If I wasn’t wrong, then right then, thirty or more dress in front of me in various shades of red like Madder, Crimson, Cardinal red, Poppy red, Carmine, Spanish red, Rusty red, Chocolate cosmos, Rosewood, Imperial red, Cordovan, Fire engine red, Rose vale, Old rose, Bittersweet Shimmer, Light red, Light Coral, Garnet, Rose ebony, Chili red, Vermilion, Misty rose, Turkey red, Salmon, Cantaloupe Melon, Barn red, Blood red, Tea rose, Cinnabar, Dark red, Fire brick, Indian red, Lust, Maroon, Redwood, Scarlet, Tomato, Bittersweet, Jasper, Rosy brown, Rose taupe, Fluorescent red, etc.
He asked me to wear RED but didn’t tell me the exact shade of red.
“What are these for?” I heard Mom’s voice. I turned to look at her, who was looking at all my dresses in surprise. “I saw that Beta leaving from here happily. What happened between you two?”, She dropped another question.
“Nothing much, Mom, We’re going on a date.”, I said, keeping my answer short.
“Date? With that Beta? Are you serious?”, She exclaimed.
“Can you suggest which red dress I should wear?” I asked, ignoring her question. I picked up a dark red elegant split Maxi dress. I stood in front of the mirror and checked that dress on me. I hadn’t worn that even once until now.
I would look super sexy in revealing my long white legs.
It’s decided then. I would wear them with my silver heels and long diamond earrings touching my shoulder. And I would curl my hair a little.
“You are really thinking of getting ready in this beautiful maxi dress for him?” Mom asked.
“I don’t dress for anyone but me, Mom. And you know that part very well. Now please, leave! I have just one hour to get ready.”
“Aleena..”
“Stop interfering in my life, Mom. I know what I am doing.”, I snapped. She grumbled and left from there. I locked the door so that no one could disturb me for an hour. This was the first date of my life. Though I wasn’t going there with the person, I dreamt of, but it didn’t mean I would make my first experienced worst. Even after an hour, I wasn’t ready; that was a different thing that he was already here.
Sensing his presence, he was in the living room. I showed no hurry in getting ready. It was his fault that he had given me just an hour.
‘Women like me take much more time than that. And he wants to take me on a date; then he has to learn to wait.’
Finally, after half an hour more, I was ready. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled a little.
“You look gorgeous.”, I complimented the girl standing in front of me. ‘Leia, how do I look?’ I asked her even though I was sure that I was looking perfect.
‘Sexy enough to make our mate arouse just by a smile.’
I couldn’t say whether that was a compliment or taunt that I had not looked less than a whore, but I didn’t miss observing her word ‘OUR MATE.’ She got attached to that Beta’s wolf in a short span of time. That reminded me that he had mentioned that she talked with him last night. I hoped that she wouldn’t have disclosed any of my secrets.
But then, if she would have done that, then he wouldn’t be here to take on a date but would have arrested me for using witch portion on him and for planning to use that portion on the Alpha of his pack. Carrying my silver clutch in my hand, I went out of the door confidently.
He rose to his feet when I entered the living room. I would be lying if I didn’t stop breathing, seeing him perfectly dressed in black silk Armani suit. I meant he was not looking this breathing handsome in Luna’s ceremony and was too busy to get ready like other family members.
I walked toward him and saw him placing his hand over his heart with a big smile on his face and acting to fall behind when dad held him by holding his arms. I glared at him at his poor acting.
“Stop it.”, I muttered, making him stand straight.
“How can I? When breathtaking is not enough of a word to describe you.”, he complimented, holding my hand and kissing my knuckles softly. I pressed my lips tightly, trying not to blush. I meant, without using any particular word to describe my beauty, he had already said enough. “Shall we?” he asked. I nodded my head.
“Dad, Mom. Wish me all the best because if anything those wrong, I think your daughter will kill me.”
“Shut up!”. Pulling my hand from his grip, I smacked his arms.
He forwarded his hand again before speaking, “If you let me, I would hold you forever.” I smiled and placed my hand over his.
“You’re beautiful all the time, but when you smile like that, I swear my world stops.”
Damn this man!
He didn’t have to act this sweet and loving.
Like a gentleman, he opened the passenger door for me. I smiled at him and then I got into the car. He went around the car and sat beside me in the driver’s seat.
“Where are we going?” I asked, looking at him.
“Darling, don’t you think you should compliment me too. It took so much effort to just be ready for you.”, he pouted.
Wasn’t that illegal for a man to pout like a girl?
“I don’t know what to say except for the part that I stopped breathing for a while when I saw you.”, I mumbled. Moon Goddess, why was this hard to compliment him? “I’m not someone who appreciates anyone’s efforts, so I’m a hard time saying all these things but …. But You make me feel so special.” I finished speaking and looked at him to see his expression. He was looking at me in Awe!!
My heart would have been fluttered the way he was looking at me for a while, but I knew it was not really him, so I ignored it.
“Now, where are we going?”
“I have called some professional photographers so that we can get our pictures clicked together, which I will use in our room to decor each and every side of the wall.”, he said with a smile and grabbed my hand, kissing my knuckles again. “I am the luckiest man for getting to have you by my side, Lina.”
You wouldn’t be saying the same at the end of everything. I thought and tried hard not to feel bad.

Everything went perfectly, photo shoot, candlelight dinner, dance and at last a beautiful pendant which he himself made me wear on the spot, as the first gift from him.
“Hmm, just like I had thought it suits you.”, he said, turning me toward him.
“Thank you for this.”, I mumbled, looking at my pendant, which was so beautiful that I could hardly take my eyes off it.
“Just thank you? This is not what I was expecting.”, he complained.
“Then?” I asked, narrowing my eyes. “If you want something like this, then I will buy you tomorrow.”, I said, thinking he might be expecting a gift from me too. Well, I didn’t mind giving him one. It shouldn’t be only one person’s responsibility to give the others. I had maintained a good bank balance by assassination a lot of vampires.
“Do you really think I want something like that?” he asked, arching his brow. “Of course not!” he muttered and looked at my lip. He leaned forward to kiss me, and immediately I pushed him, sensing something that he couldn’t. “I’m sorry.”, he apologized, thinking he was stepping away for me.
Only if he knew why I did that, but then I didn’t have much time with me.
“I have to use the washroom.”, I mumbled, running away from there to meet the person who came here unannounced.
And her arrival wasn’t good news.

“Hello, Julia.” I greeted a woman who looked like a woman of my age but might be hundred years older compared to me. She was Silas’s mate, a vampire. She was older than Silas; in that way, she was way stronger and more powerful than him. I always used to think about how I could sense vampires easily compared to others, but now I think I know the reason behind it because Eva’s blood used to run in my vein for a decade or more.
“You killed my mate.”, She was not asking but stating.
“I had asked him to do one thing right, and he failed to do it. So, I had to kill him to keep myself safe.”, I said, without beating around the bushes because she had the power of telepathy. (Vampires can read the minds of mortals, which include werewolves along with humans. Older vampires can read the minds of younger, weaker vampires.)
And she was an older vampire.
“You will soon feel the pain when someone closer to you and whom you love the most will die.”, She smiled painfully.
“I dare you, Julia.”, I warned her.
“Or what? You will kill me too?”, She asked. Then shook her head. “Vampires are considered dead, but by killing Silas, you snatched my reason to live. Now, I fear nothing, not even death. I’m going to kill myself anyway because I don’t want to live without him but not before giving you the taste of your own medicine.”, She smiled meekly.
“Youuuuu….” I tried to catch her, but she was too quick to run away from there.
‘Damn it! Vampires’ speed.’
I looked for my phone and remembered that it was in my clutch. I reached back on the terrace where Stephen had arranged candlelight dinner for me. He sensed that something was wrong with me.
“What’s wrong?”, He asked in a serious tone.
“Daniel’s life is in danger. Increase the warriors on patrol.”
“What? Who told you that?” he asked in tension.
“Just do it without asking anything from me.”, I said, on which he nodded before mind linking. I pulled out my phone from the clutch and dialed Eva’s number to warn her about it. I knew she could keep Daniel safe. After finishing the call, I could just hope that nothing went wrong because Daniel was the one who I loved the most.
Once I ended the call, I looked at Stephen, who was already looking at me warily as if I was gone insane. “Don’t mind me asking, but who told you this?” he asked, on which I averted my eyes, hoping he to change the topic. He sighed and didn’t ask anything from me again. The end of the first date was not something that he hadn’t planned, but you couldn’t blame me either.
When we were on the way to his… or say our pack, I could see the increase in the number of warriors on patrol, and somehow I sighed in relief, knowing that Julia wouldn’t even think of coming here at this tight security. We had hardly crossed the pack border when we heard the loud painful howls of the wolves. And it was not from my current pack but my neighboring pack, in short, dad’s pack.
Did something happen to Mom?
No, No, No, No, No!
Stephen stopped the car, and I didn’t spend a second in the car. I jumped out of the car and shifted before running toward dad’s pack to reach there as soon as possible.
Julia said, ‘someone closer to you and whom you love the most will die.’
But I was positive that ‘Mom’ was not in that category. I always wished for Daniel’s love and ……. !!
Oh no!
My paws halted when I saw the familiar lifeless body in front of me.
I shifted and ran toward him.
“Dad, dad…” I shook his body and pulled out the silver dagger from his heart, and threw it away. “Dad…dada… open your eyes, dad. Dad… Daddddddddddd….” I cried in pain as loud as I could.
