Hearing this, Derek didn’t say anything.
“Zoe, I sometimes feel that you are smart, but sometimes, I feel that you can’t be silly more.”
Derek raised his eyebrows.
Looking at Derek’s calm face, Zoe fell into an extreme panic, “Derek! What did you do to me?”
“You should ask who did it to you. If Miss Zoe is interested in him, I can help.”
Zoe clenched her fists. She wanted to kill him.
“Derek! You bastard!” Zoe roared.
“Blame yourself. You were being greedy. You wanted to have everything, but things didn’t work in that way. Zoe, take the lesson.” Derek took out a cigarette and held it in his mouth with a disdainful smile.
“Derek! You’ll pay for this!” Zoe was trembled and gritted her teeth.
“How? With the video and photo of you and another man?”
Derek won’t be threatened.
Zoe once again felt how horrible Derek was. He had the photos.
“Those pictures are beautiful. If Miss Zoe wants to savor it, you can tell me,” Derek smiled.
Zoe understood what Derek meant. Once she did something, he would immediately release those photos and videos.
“What do you want?” Zoe lowered her voice. She had to lower herself.
“I don’t want to do anything. You and your Webber Group have no meaning for me. You don’t have anything I want. As long as you don’t make trouble, the photos and videos will not be reported.”
Zoe glared at Derek, snorted, and left the office.
Derek loosened his tie. Everything was settled.
He called Hayden in to prepare for the listing tomorrow.
The next morning, Serina was woken up by Bella.
Another hurried morning. Serina sent Bella and Chelsea to the kindergarten hurriedly.
After that, Serina went to the Dark Empire because she felt that there were many things to talk about between herself and Derek. She had so many questions to ask.
Hayden received her.
The last time she saw Hayden, Hayden lied to her.
“Hayden, what did you tell me last time? Jumped over? What is your boss’s name?” Serina glanced at Hayden, “Hayden, I thought we are friends. Why do you lie to me?”
“I’m sorry. But Boss asked me to say that.”
“Lie again?”
“No, I’m not, but I can’t say. You should ask Boss.” Hayden was a little troubled.
“What do you mean?” Serina was a little confused.
“You, you should ask Boss. You can go in now.”
“Alright.”
Hayden left.
Serina stood in front of the door and knocked. “Come in.” Derek’s voice came from inside.
Serina pushed the door and walked in. The decoration was the same as that of the Saint Group. Derek still liked this simple and fashionable style.
In front of the desk, Derek was busy. He looked up at Serina. “Give me a minute. Just a minute. Take a seat first.”
“Okay.” Serina walked to the desk. The computer screen displayed a mess of data, and Serina could not understand it.
Derek knocked on the last number, stood up, and poured Serina a glass of water. “You don’t have to come this morning. Plane at three o’clock in the afternoon, and I’ll pick you up. And you don’t need to prepare anything. Everything is ready.”
Serina took the glass and smiled. He was still so thoughtful.
“Derek, I have so many things want to ask you.”
“Now?” Derek pointed at the three computers on his table and the mountainous pile of documents on his desk.
The company was going to be listed, so he was quite busy and Serina was a reasonable person.
“Well, we can wait. After you finished the listing event.”
“I know you have a lot of questions. When everything is settled, I will tell you all the things in detail.” Derek squeezed Serina’s nose slightly.
Serina nodded.
“Where are my little girls?” Derek asked softly as he held Serina’s waist.
“They are in the kindergarten.”
“You probably won’t be able to pick them up in the afternoon. I’ll arrange for Hayden to pick them up. Don’t worry.”
“Alright.”
Serina suddenly did not know what she could say. She felt Derek was different. It felt strange.
Was it because they had not seen each other for too long?
“I’m going home now, so you can go back to work.”
“Alright, I’m sorry that I don’t have time right now. I’ll pick you up in the afternoon.”
Serina nodded. Derek kissed her on her forehead. The kiss was cold.
Serina left without saying anything.
Back home, Serina lay on the sofa, looking at the ceiling, feeling that everything was illusory.
At noon, Ernest called. Ernest called last night, but Serina missed it.
“Hello, Ernie.”
“What is it? Last night…”
“Yes, your uncle is back. No, I don’t know if he is your uncle.” Serina’s voice was low.
“Okay,” Ernest sounded a little depressed, “Did he find you?”
“Yes, but he’s been busy recently. We barely talked and I don’t know anything.”
“Do you have time afternoon? Have a chat?”
“No, I can’t. I will fly to the United States afternoon with him for the listing ceremony.”
“Okay, never mind. We can find another time.”
Ernest did not say anything, and Serina hung up.
She looked up at the ceiling for the whole morning and forgot to cook at noon. She thought about all the things that had happened between her and Derek.
The phone rang again. She thought it was Derek, but it turned out to be the kindergarten teacher.
