Thinking of this, Serina felt like a teenage girl.
Bella shook her head solemnly, “I think Daddy Ernest is more handsome.”
“Well, we have different tastes. How about we go to bed now?” Serina smiled.
“Alright.”
Serina held Bella’s hand and walked to the children’s room.
Chelsea was still excited. She bounced on the bed. “We have a daddy! Great! I want to go to the amusement park! I want to eat ice cream; I want to buy a barbie doll!”
Just thinking about it made her happy!
“Chelsea! Don’t jump again. Let’s wash up and go to sleep!”
Chelsea stopped, “Mommy, where’s Daddy? Let Daddy take us to the amusement park tomorrow, okay? I don’t want to go to kindergarten!”
“No. Daddy has work to do tomorrow. Be good, so Daddy will come back very soon.”
“Alright then,” Chelsea pouted.
She got off the bed and let Serina carry her to the bathroom.
After the twins washed up, Serina finished her washing.
“Mommy, could you sleep with us today?”
On the big bed, Serina slept in the middle, and Chelsea was on the left, Bella on the right.
Chelsea couldn’t sleep. She looked at the ceiling. “I want barbie dolls, toy blocks, puzzle games, and the little drum I saw last time. I like it! I want Daddy to buy it for me.”
Chelsea kept talking to herself. Serina felt that something was buzzing beside her ears.
“Chelsea, didn’t Mommy buy these things you wanted?” Serina asked.
“Every time Mommy asks me to choose one of them! But Daddy will buy all of them!”
Serina snorted softly, “Daddy only Listen to Mommy. If Mommy doesn’t let Daddy buy it, Daddy won’t buy it.”
“Dad hasn’t come back for several years. Daddy should buy those toys as Daddy’s apology,” Chelsea murmured.
“Chelsea, stop talking. Go to sleep!” Serina rubbed her ears.
“Mommy, will Daddy come tomorrow morning?” Chelsea continued.
Serina was frustrated. “If you sleep now, maybe you can see Daddy when you wake up!”
“Really? I’m going to sleep! Mommy, night night. Bella, night night!” Chelsea covered the quilt quickly.
Serina was relieved.
Not long after, Serina heard a long breathing sound. It was from Chelsea. She had always fallen asleep very quickly.
She must have dreamed of her father.
Serina put her Chelsea little hand back into the quilt and sighed. They want to have a daddy. She should know that.
But Serina could not sleep.
Serina wanted to know what happened to Derek in those years but Derek didn’t tell her.
Why was he with Zoe? They seemed to be close, but how close?
Serina had no idea. When Derek was here, she was immersed in the joy of reunion.
However, when she was alone and calmed down, she felt that there were too many things that needed an answer.
Serina took a deep breath. She didn’t want to bother herself anymore. She turned around and found a pair of eyes shining in the darkness.
She leaned over and waved her hand in front of Bella.
“Mommy, I sleep with my eyes closed,” said Bella, reaching out to take Serina’s hand away.
“What are you doing?” Serina asked in a low voice. “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“I can’t.”
“Why? Don’t be like an adult.” Serina pinched the little nose of Bella.
“You can’t sleep too. You’ve turned over several times, and you sighed a lot,” Bella said as an adult.
“Mommy is an adult. Adults have a lot of troubles, so Mommy can’t sleep is normal.”
“Children have a lot of troubles, especially with a mommy like you who has a lot of troubles.”
“You beat you!” Serina sighed. Why did Bella know so many things?
She leaned closer to Bella. “Bella, do you not like Daddy?”
Bella hesitated, “It’s not that I don’t like Daddy. I feel it’s wrong that Daddy is with another woman.”
“Bella, you are young. There are many things you do not understand. Many things are not like what you see.”
“Mommy, do you want me to like Daddy?”
“Mommy wishes.”
“So you’ve decided to be with Dad? You’re not getting married?” Bella looked serious.
“Mommy does not know,” Serina said in a low voice. She couldn’t figure it out right now. “Bella, can Mommy tell you the truth? Mommy is lost now and does not know what to do.”
“Mommy should go to sleep now. We will know the answer tomorrow.” Bella patted Serina on her shoulder.
It seemed like Serina was the daughter.
“Okay, night night, my dear. Stop worrying. Let time solve the problem for us, okay?”
“Okay.” Then, Serina and Bella fell asleep.
In the Dark Empire.
Derek arrived at the Dark Empire. Tomorrow it would be listed, so all the employees worked late in these days.
It was two in the morning and the employees were still working.
Derek entered the building and took the elevator upstairs.
Just as he was about to enter the president’s office, he found that his office was lit up and a voice coming from inside.
“Miss Zoe, please leave. Without permission, you can’t be here. If Mr. Derek finds out, I’ll be in trouble.”
Hayden sounded anxious.
Derek walked to the door.
“Mr. Derek… Miss Zoe, she…”
“You may leave.”
“Yes.” Hayden nodded and left the office immediately.
Zoe sat in the chair with her legs crossed, smoking a cigarette. She flicked the ash on the table leisurely.
“The private meeting with your old lover is over?” Zoe raised her eyebrow and spitted out a puff of smoke.
“What old lover?” Derek snorted.
“Seriously?”
“What? I never had any lover or old lover. I only had my wife, Serina.”
