Serina looked at Bella and was puzzled.
Bella was only three and a half years old. Why didn’t she want to see dad as such a young kid?
Bella was very mature for her age.
But she was still a child.
“Mommy, why didn’t he come to us?”
Bella asked Serina instead of answering the question.
“What if he is oblivious of you?”
“Then why didn’t he come to you?”
Hearing it, Serina’s heart ached slightly.
Bella put her arms around Serina’s neck and she rarely did so. “Mommy, I love being with you and Chelsea.”
“But once Chelsea asked me why your dad didn’t pick you up from school as other kids’ dads did.”
Every time Serina was asked about such a question, she would be heartbroken.
“Some of my classmates’ parents are divorced. Cindy’s parents have always been quarreling. Once, they even quarreled at the school gate. Cindy is sad every day. She said that her parents didn’t love each other anymore.”
“You are just kids. Do you know what love is?” Serina stroked Bella’s hair.
“I don’t know, but I don’t want you to quarrel every day. If so, I would rather have no dad.”
Bella was so serious that Serina’s heart ached again.
“Maybe we won’t quarrel.”
Bella shook her head, “But he never came to you. It means that he has forgotten you, or he doesn’t like you at all, just like Cindy’s parents.”
Serina smiled. “Will you and Chelsea do without?”
“Mommy, it doesn’t matter.” Bella curled her lips.
Serina lifted Bella’s face and said, “Okay, I know. Then kiss me.”
“No!” Bella removed Serina’s hands.
“Come on. I just want a kiss.”
Serina kissed Bella on the lips regardless. Bella was so reluctant but couldn’t do anything about it.
Serina picked up Bella and said, “Go to bed now.”
Then she walked to the children’s room with Bella in her arms. Chelsea was already asleep, so the two of them tiptoed in.
“I will sleep with you in my arms today since I’m in a bad mood.”
“Alright then.”
Holding Bella, Serina was lost in consideration.
Although Bella was a kid, what she said made sense.
Since Derek was already with Zoe, she should let it go.
If she told him that she had given birth to twin girls, then what if he fought her for custody of children?
She would lose it since Derek was so powerful and had charge of Dark Empire which was going to go public.
She had lost her love. How could she lose her daughters?
She couldn’t.
Thinking of this, Serina was no longer sad and fell asleep.
In the hotel.
The morning sunlight flooded in the room. Zoe woke up on the bed and had a headache.
As soon as she turned over, she saw Derek sleeping with his back to her.
She remembered what a crazy night they had last night.
She smiled shyly and poked his back. He turned over and smiled at her.
“What’s the matter, darling?”
“This isn’t what you called me last night.” Zoe pressed the quilt to her bosom and got closer to Derek.
“Then shall I call you Mrs. Maynard?” Derek smiled.
“Derek, I lost my virginity to you last night. You should be responsible for me.”
“No wonder you scratched me so hard! Remember to cut your nails next time,” Derek said with a grievance.
Zoe reached out and thumped Derek on the chest.
Derek sat up and said, “If you are tired, you can get some more sleep. I will go wash up first.” Then Derek lifted the quilt and got out of bed.
“Alright,” Zoe said with the quilt in her arms.
Zoe looked at the ceiling and smiled. She finally had sex with Derek.
She believed once Derek’s company went public, they would get married soon.
When the two of them walked out of the hotel, it was already ten in the morning.
“You were exhausted last night. I’ll drive you home to have a rest,” Derek said as he looked at Zoe.
“What about you?”
“I will go on with my work in the company. I have a lot of things to do before it goes public.”
“I’m indeed tired and I have a headache.”
Derek said with a smile, “The soup is much too effective. I also have a headache. One more thing, there’s an agreement for you to sign today.”
“What agreement?”
“It’s about the company’s going public. It’s quite urgent. What about going to the company with me to sign it before I drive you home? Thank you for your hard work,” Mo Derek said as he pinched Zoe’s face.
“Not at all. Derek, shouldn’t we think about our marriage?” Zoe asked on Derek’s arm.
“Of course. That’s why we should hurry up. Once the company goes public, your shares will cost five hundred million. This is the betrothal gift for you.”
Zoe looked at Derek in shock.
“In addition, I will transfer five percent of the shares in my name to you. We are businessmen, so I should propose you in a businessman’s way.”
Zoe opened her mouth, not knowing what to say. “Derek…”
“Alright, don’t be emotional. It hasn’t been cashed yet!”
“I am touched that you can think so.”

Zoe was greatly touched.
“Derek, I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t have to say anything. Let’s go to the company to have the agreement stamped. Then I’ll drive you home to have a good rest.”
Zoe took out a seal from her bag. “Take this seal and stamp it. Besides, this is my signature.”
“Aren’t you afraid that I will do something bad?”
“We’re going to marry. If you do, I’ll punish you!” Zoe joked.
“No. You do it yourself.”
Zoe placed the seal in Derek’s hand. “Take it. I’ll go back by taxi. Just go ahead.”
