Serina nodded.
When Derek was about to stand up, Serina also stood up immediately.
“Derek…”
“Yes? What’s wrong?”
Serina wanted to say something but stopped. She bit her lips and said, “Nothing. Your lips are dry. Remember to drink more water. When you are not busy at night, I will make something delicious for you, okay?”
“No, thanks. If I want to eat something, I will have someone arrange it. You should take good care of yourself.”
As he spoke, he placed his hand on Serina’s shoulder to comfort her, “Originally, I should have taken good care of you after your operation, but I didn’t expect I would have so many issues to deal with. I’m sorry, Serina…”
“Don’t say sorry. I’m fine. Just go to your issues.”
“Mr. Henry will take care of you.”
“Yes.”
Derek walked out and closed the door for Serina. And he gave two guards who protected her some instructions before leaving.
Serina sat on the bed and sighed. It was better not to tell him about the child, lest he still had to be distracted for her now.
“It was better to wait. After it passed, let the happy news help him out of his sorrow.” She thought.
Derek continued to keep a vigil over the corpse.
At night, no one came to offer condolences, so it would naturally be a little easier.
Ernest was having dinner, who was not as sad as Derek.
Serina came out of the kitchen and happened to see him.
“Hey? Why are you here?” Ernest asked.
“I am your family, so I should be here.” Serina said and sat next to Ernest, “I just made several dishes for Derek. Do you want some?”
He wanted to accept because he liked her cooking, but he didn’t as he thought that he was going to finish dinner and the dishes were prepared for Derek.
“No, thanks. I’m almost finished.”
“Well, where is Derek?”
“Keeping a vigil over the corpse. He had no taste and has not eaten much for the past two days.” Ernest said and sighed.
“Later, tell him that I made the dishes. He may come over for a few bites.”
“OK… Serina, there is something…” Ernest said halfway and hesitated.
He had always buried it in his heart. When he didn’t know who he was talking to, he happened to see Serina.
She was his best friend and the person he had loved for five years. He should have told her, but she was his aunt-in-law.
“What’s wrong? Go on telling me.”
“There’s something I don’t know if I should tell you. If I tell you, will you betray me?”
Serina rolled her eyes at Ernest, “Will I betray you? When have I betrayed you?”
“You haven’t before, but you are different now.”
“If you don’t want to say it, then don’t!” Serina was not in the mood to listen to his gossip!
“Alright, I’ll tell you. Let’s go to your bedroom. It cannot be known to a third person.”
After that, Ernest pulled Serina out of the dining room and went to Derek’s bedroom.
“What are you doing? So mysterious.”
“As you know, my grandfather said he wanted to see me before he died. Do you know what my grandfather said to me?”
“What did he say?” Serina looked at Ernest in confusion.
“My grandfather promised me the Saint Group. He wanted me to work hard.” Ernest whispered.
“What? Isn’t the Saint Group…”
Ernest immediately covered Serina’s mouth, “Don’t say it out! Others may hear it!”
Serina took Ernest’s hand away. “Isn’t it said that the future heir of the Saint Group is Derek?” Serina lowered her voice.
“That’s right. This is well-known. Maybe my grandfather was delirious before he died, right?”
Serina shook her head and said, “it’s said that people have the clearest consciousness before dying. It is unlikely that he was talking nonsense.”
“Then what should I do? My little grandmother asked me, but I didn’t say anything.”
“Did she ask you?” Serina looked at Ernest nervously.
“Yes, when I attended the vigil, she suddenly called me away and asked me in private.”
These days, Yolanda had brainwashed Serina a lot, who naturally would mention Lauren. In the past few days, Yolanda had analyzed much about what Lauren might do.
“You must keep it a secret!”
“I didn’t say anything. I don’t want any group. I just want to be an actor.” Ernest frowned and was very distressed.
“Don’t tell anyone else about this except me.”
“Look at how nervous you are. Don’t worry. I won’t fight for the company!” Ernest shot Serina a glance.
“I didn’t mean that. Am I such a person in your heart?”
Serina was a little angry.
But what Ernest said is right. After all, her husband was Derek now. Whether Derek was the heir of the Saint Group was also related to her future.
“Okay, you are not. I have to go back to the vigil and convey your words.”
“Remember, don’t say it!”
“I know! Watch your belly! Be careful to protect my future brother!” Ernest left the bedroom.
Serina felt it troublesome even more. It seemed that her mother was right. Such fights were inevitable in the rich and powerful.
If Dalton really promised the Saint Group to Ernest before his death, Lauren would never agree.
Ernest returned to the mourning hall and knelt beside Derek.
“Serina made you soup and dishes. You should go to have some.”
Derek originally had no appetite, but when he heard Serina’s name, he nodded.
“Don’t tell your grandmother that she is here.”
“I know.”
Derek stood up and walked to the bedroom, only to find Serina sitting on the bed in a daze.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“No! Didn’t you go to the dining room directly?” Serina snapped back to reality.
“I asked them to bring the food here.”
Someone knocked on the door.
The servant placed the food on the table and left.
“Have some with me,” Derek said as he sat down.
“Alright.” Serina walked over and sat next to Derek. “The soup has been boiled for a long time. It’s a great tonic that is good for you.”
“OK.” Derek obediently ate half a bowl of rice and drank a bowl of soup.
The dinner was finished.
Derek rubbed his temples.
“What’s wrong? Is it a headache?”
“A little.”
“Let me help you.” Serina stood up and walked to the back of Derek, gently rubbing Derek’s temples.
“Derek… did your father leave a will before he passed away?” She asked cautiously.
