“What? What else?” Serina blinked her big eyes and looked at Derek.
Derek looked up at Serina and touched her face. “I am investigating. When it finishes, I will tell you the whole story.”
“Alright then.” Serina pursed.
“Good girl,” Derek said as he stroked Serina’s head.
“Have you had dinner? I haven’t yet. Come and eat with me.”
“Alright.”
Derek accompanied Serina for dinner and stayed there at night.
Because her foot was still wrapped in a thick bandage, Serina could not take a bath and could only wipe her body.
She leaned against the bed and played a game on her phone. The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Derek was taking a shower.
“GAME OVER!”
Serina sighed, threw her phone aside, and looked at the bathroom.
She suddenly thought of Ernest’s words.
A rich man arranged for a woman live in an extra house.
Wasn’t she in the same situation now?
When Derek brought her here, he said that the Crystal Palace was too far away from the city center and it was inconvenient to commute. It sounded like a good reason.
However, after listening to Ernest’s words, Serina began to suspect.
She and Derek had registered their marriage. It was reasonable for them to live in Derek’s house. But, shouldn’t they meet their parents?

“What are you thinking about?” Derek walked to the bedside.
Serina looked up at Derek’s perfect figure and swallowed.
“Nothing.”
Derek pulled the towel off and pressed Serina down. “That’s good. You don’t need to think. Let’s just do it.”
Serina did not refuse. “My foot is injured. Be careful.”
“Don’t worry. I won’t let you move.”
Soon, Serina was indulged in the excitement Derek gave her.
Because of Serina’s injury, Derek restrained his strength. Then, he took her to the bathroom to wash.
Back on the bed, Derek hugged Serina and was about to fall asleep.
Serina blinked and moved her body. “Derek…”
“What’s wrong? Does your foot hurt?”
“No, I want to ask you, when… are you going to take me to see your parents?”
Derek’s expression immediately froze. However, in the dark, with her back against him, Serina could not see Dereck’s face.
“It’s been a few months since we registered for marriage. It’s time to meet your parents, isn’t it?”
“Do you want to be the young mistress now?” Derek said half-jokingly.
“I don’t mean that. I just think that we will meet sooner or later. Besides, we can’t stay like this for the rest of our lives, right?”
“Isn’t it good for us to be like this?” Derek asked as he hugged Serina tightly.
“No.” Serina also knew that it would be very troublesome to deal with his parents. After all, her mother, Yolanda, had a bad relationship with her in-laws, and a series of things happened because of that.
“In this way, I feel like I’m your lover rather than your wife.” Serina pursed her lips and spoke.
Derek remained silent.
“Are you afraid that your parents won’t like me? Or will they look down on me and refuse to accept me?” Serina asked as she cupped Derek’s face.
No matter how carefree Serina was, she was still a girl and would be sensitive sometimes.
“Don’t worry yourself. I don’t want to tell them yet. Let’s wait until we find the right timing.” Derek’s voice was low and emotionless.
Serina nodded. She suddenly lowered her head and smiled. “Are you going to wait for me to get pregnant? In this way, even if they don’t like me, they will accept me for the sake of the child, right?”
Derek’s heart skipped a beat.
He had never thought about having a child.
“But I haven’t thought about having a child yet,” Serina muttered.
“Alright, don’t think about it. Let’s sleep.” Derek pulled Serina into his arms again.
“But, to be honest, if we have a baby, do you want a boy or a girl?”
“I’m okay with either,” Derek said half-heartedly.
“Why? I want to have a son.”
“Why?”
“What if my daughter be like me? I’ve been naughty since I was a child. I have made my parents worry about me a lot. If I gave birth to a girl like me, one of us would die. I don’t want to give birth to a daughter.”
“You know how naughty you are?” Derek asked, being amused.
“Yes, I should have some self-awareness. Although I am beautiful and adorable, I also have weaknesses.”
“Why are you so narcissistic?” Derek asked with a smile.
“Just a little.”
Serina nestled in Derek’s arms and closed her eyes with a smile.
Listening to Serina’s even breathing, Derek could not fall asleep anymore.
He found that he loved Serina more and more, but the more he loved her, the more troublesome it would be.
If she was willing to become his lover, then everything would be easy. But if she insisted on becoming his wife, then it would really be too hard on him.
The next morning, before Serina got up, Derek left.
He was distracted for a whole day. During the meeting, the secretary saw that he was lost in thought and called him several times.
In the office, Derek’s mind was filled with Serina.

The phone on the table rang many times and finally caught Derek’s attention.
He picked up his phone and saw that it was a call from Lauren.
“Hello, Mom.”
“Derek, how is it going recently?”
“Not bad.”
“How about you and Miss Zoe?”
This was the most troublesome thing for Derek.
“We’re fine.”
“Fine? I’m having afternoon tea with Miss Zoe. How long has it been since you last asked her out? As a man, you should take the initiative. Have dinner with Miss Zoe today.”
“Mom, I’m busy today.”
“What are you busy with? Anyway, you are busy every day. Eight o’clock, the Lotus Restaurant, see you.”
The phone hung up.
Before Derek came back to his senses, he received Serina’s call.
