Derek and Serina stopped and looked at each other in dismay.
The owner of the breakfast shop rushed over with a one hundred bill in his hand.
Derek subconsciously extended a protective arm to Serina.
The owner was slightly fat. Rolls of fat hung down his face because the bones there seemed to be unable to support it. It was obvious that he was not someone to be trifled with.
“You two! This is fake money! You dare to use fake money in my shop. You are risking your neck!”
“Nonsense! It’s obviously real!” Serina replied.
“If I say it’s fake money, then it is! I didn’t wrong you. Give me another bill! Hurry!” He gave an ultimatum.
“Well, since you said that the money is fake, shouldn’t you show us some evidence? It’s impossible to distinguish whether it’s fake with the naked eye. You said it was fake, and I said it was true.” Derek was very calm.
“So stubborn you are! Come back with me. Let’s get the currency detector to check it!” The owner pointed to his breakfast shop.
“Well, if it is fake, we will definitely give you another one, but if it is true, you must apologize to us.”
“No problem!”
The domineering owner brought Derek and Serina back to his shop. There was a currency detector on the cashier counter.
The boss put the bill directly into the detector, and it immediately issued a sharp alarm.
“See? It’s fake! Hurry up and give me another!” The owner reached out his hand.
Derek and Serina were in trouble this time. They thought that the owner was deliberately making things difficult for them. Derek took the money and distinguished it in various parts. It was really fake.
“Serina, where did you get this bill?” Derek asked.
“A girl gave it to me. There are two in total. I used one to buy a ticket and the ticket seller did not say that it was fake. As for the other one…” Serina suddenly remembered something and patted her forehead.
“What’s the matter?” Derek asked.
“Just now, an old lady brought her grandson to buy steamed buns. She said that her grandson only liked brand new bills as new as his lucky money, so I exchanged the other bill with her!”
The cashier sighed, “You should have been deceived. Many people have been cheated here. The old lady is a repeat offender. She took a grandson and exchanged fake bills for real ones.”
“What?” Serina gritted her teeth. She thought that she had done a good deed, but she did not expect to be cheated!
How unlucky she was!
“Cut the crap! Take out real money quickly!” The owner didn’t care about what they said. All he wanted was real money!
Serina looked up at Derek.
“Give me the money!”
Derek didn’t know what to do, either. This was the first time in his life that he had been made difficult for because of money!
“Just wait for a while. I’ll look for it!” Serina began to put her hand into her pocket.
As she did, she gave Derek a look.
“Here, count it!” Serina suddenly took out some loose change and held it in her hand.
As soon as she finished, she pulled Derek and rushed out of the breakfast shop!
As the boss lowered his head, all he saw was loose change. “Damn it! How dare you lie to me! Someone! Go get them!”
Derek and Serina ran together. Serina saw several people with wooden sticks chasing after them as she turned around.
“We’re catching up! Let’s run faster!” Serina shouted.
Derek originally didn’t want to run, but Serina kept pulling him. Moreover, the people behind them looked indeed fierce, so he had to run!
That was their first time in life to run that fast!
Seeing that the people were getting closer and closer, Serina suddenly pulled Derek into the warehouse area near the bus station. After several turns, she saw a warehouse and directly broke in.
There were many cardboard boxes with no words on them piled up in the warehouse. Seven or eight men were squatting on the ground doing something.
Seeing that someone had barged in, they all immediately raised their heads with vigilance.
Derek frowned slightly and felt that something was not right.
“Guys, we are police. Those bad guys outside are chasing after us. Please let us hide here!” Serina suddenly had an idea.
“Police?” The men looked at each other, all silent. A man with a scar on his face winked at the others.
They all immediately stood up, each of them tall and robust, fierce and fiendish. They did not look like good people at all!
“Run!” Derek pulled Serina and they rushed out of the warehouse.
“Get them!” The men immediately chased after Derek and Serina.
“Why are these people chasing after us?” Serina asked as she ran.
“Because you said you were a policewoman! Hurry up! Don’t talk to me. Save some strength!” Derek tightened his grip on Serina’s hand.
The two dashed out of the area of the bus station. They kept turning before they entered a small alley.
They rested their hands on their knees, panting heavily.
Serina was out of breath and felt that her heart was about to run out!
“Why will they chase after police?” Serina was a little confused.
“They seem to be smuggling,” Derek replied as he panted for breath.
“What? How dare they smuggle here!” Serina was incredulous.
“Guys, they are here!” A high-pitched male voice was heard.
As the two looked towards the entrance of the alley, a few men had surrounded them and they found that it was a dead end when they were about to escape.
“Run! Keep running!” The men approached step by step.
“To be honest! We are not police. I was just joking!” Serina immediately smiled.
“No? I’m not easy to be fooled!” The man with a scar on his face spat on the ground.
A man next to him handed a phone to him, “Mr. Scar, it’s our Hall Master.”
Hearing the words “Hall Master,” Serina narrowed her eyes slightly.
“This is Scar speaking. Master, we caught two police. Alright, we’ll send them to you right away.” The scarred man suddenly appeared humble.
After hanging up, he said to Derek and Serina, “Let’s go. Our Hall Master invites you to tea.”
The other men surrounded them, and those two behind pushed them. Serina staggered and almost fell.
Derek glanced at the two men and hugged Serina.
“Serina, run to the right when you walk out of the alley later.” Derek grabbed Serina’s hand. “Go find a place to call after you go out. Dial this number.”
Serina looked at Derek in horror as Derek wrote a series of numbers in her hand.
“I can’t remember them. What should I do?”
Derek looked at her and wrote again.
“What about you then?”
“I can deal with these people. You don’t have to worry about me.”
“Hurry up! Keep quiet!” The person at the back pushed Derek.
