Book:You Are Smothering Me, Handsome Published:2024-5-1

“Ms. Serina, we won’t be mistaken. As long as you are Ms. Serina, it will not be a mistake. Your father, Mr. Andrew, is rather anxious. I hope you can come over as soon as possible.”
The lawyer on the phone spoke seriously. It seemed he was not joking.
“Today is not April Fool’s Day.”
“The address of our law firm is No. 28 Autumn Street. You can say you come for Mr. Cole. It is my number. If you need anything, please contact me.”
The phone was hung up.
Apparently, the lawyer was about to lose his patience.
Serina kept holding the phone. She didn’t know how long she had maintained her posture. Her mind was constantly echoing the lawyer’s words.
Parentage severance agreement…
Her father wanted to break off the relationship with her?
After a long time, Serina regained her composure and made a call to Andrew.
The phone rang many times. Finally, someone answered. It seemed that Andrew hesitated to answer the phone.
“Well.”
“Dad…” Serina tried her best to keep calm, “You want to break off the relationship with me?”
“Yes, the lawyer should have called you. Hurry to sign it.”
“Why?”
“Why are you asking me? Ask yourself. What have you done during this period of time?!”
“But I am your daughter. Your biological daughter!”
The other end of the phone went silent, and a voice came after a long time, “Serina, I don’t want to be too ruthless.”
“Dad, let’s meet!” Serina said first, “I haven’t eaten alone with you for a long time.”
“I think there’s no need for that.”
“Even if you want to break up our relationship, we can still have the last meal … farewell meal.”
Andrew was silent for a moment, “Alright, then, let’s meet at your favorite restaurant at eight o’clock tonight.”
“Alright.”
Just as Serina finished speaking, Andrew hung up the phone.
Only when she said “farewell meal”, he agreed to meet her. How could he be so heartless to his daughter?
Serina lay back on the bed, with tears flowing down.
She had never thought that her father would give up her.
How much hatred was there for a father to give up his own daughter!
Derek finished breakfast and read the newspaper for a while. He didn’t go to the company. It was almost noon, but Serina still hadn’t gotten up.
He put down the newspaper and stood upstairs. When the bedroom door was opened, he saw Serina on the bed with her eyes open.
He smiled and said, “Why not get up since you have awaked. How long do you want to stay in the bed?”
When he walked to the bedside and sat down, he discovered that something was wrong with Serina.
Her eyes were empty and devoid of spirit, completely losing the former glory. It was completely different from the panic she got yesterday.
It seemed to be a kind of loss, a kind of despair.
Tears kept flowing out of her eyes.
Derek took out a tissue from the bedside and wiped Serina’s tears, “What’s wrong?”
Serina did not answer.
Derek picked her up and said, “Tell me.”
Serina came back to her senses and said, “My father wants to break off our relationship.”
Hearing this, Derek frowned slightly but quickly relaxed. It might be a good thing.
“The lawyer asked me to sign the agreement.”
“I’ll accompany you.”
“No,” Serina shook her head, “I will have dinner with my father tonight. I want to know why he wants to break off the relationship.”
“I’ll go with you.”
Serina slowly looked up at Derek’s exquisite face. Suddenly, she was somewhat absent-minded.
No woman would refuse such a charming man, not to mention a rich and handsome like him.
What’s he repeated was enough to warm a girl.
“No, just let me go.”
Derek did not respond, “Get up and eat something.”
Serina nodded. She got up and took a shower. Then she had breakfast with Derek.
Throughout the day, she was in a daze. She kept remembering what happened in the past few years.
At night, Derek invited her to dinner but she refused. She had an appointment with Andrew.
Serina wanted to go by herself, so Derek did not insist. He arranged for her car and bodyguards.
Serina chose a white gauze skirt from the cloakroom for the first time and wore a pink T-shirt with ruffles.
Derek knew that Serina didn’t like to wear skirts.
“I’ll go.”
“Alright.”
Serina walked out of the door and got into the car. Derek watched her leave.
Shining Happy Restaurant
After getting out of the car, Serina took a deep breath. She turned around and said to the bodyguards, “You wait here. I’ll go in alone.”
“Yes, Ms. Serina.”
It was rare for the bodyguards to listen to her. She didn’t even have to threaten them. Serina glanced at the bodyguard and directly walked into the restaurant.
Andrew had arrived and was sitting by the window in the corner.
As soon as Serina entered, she looked towards Andrew. They had come here in the past and always sat there.
Seeing Andrew, Serina took a deep breath and walked over.
Serina sat opposite Andrew, “Dad.”
Andrew looked up and waved to the waiter. Immediately, a waiter walked over and said, “Sir, Miss, what can I do for you?”
The waiter placed the menu in front of Andrew, but Andrew did not look at it.
“One yolk bun, one purple potato bun, one bowl of rice porridge, one bowl of oatmeal purple potato porridge, and two your classic assorted dishes.”
Serina turned her head out of the window. These were all her favorite foods when she was young.
“Alright, sir. They will be done soon.”
After the waiter left, the father and daughter remained silent.
In less than ten minutes, all the dishes ordered by Andrew were served.
Andrew sighed, “Eat.”
Serina took a deep breath and said, “Dad, do you really not want me anymore?”
Andrew picked up his chopsticks and placed them on the table when he heard what Serina said, “Serina, when do you become so disobedient?”
Serina smiled bitterly, “Dad, I’ve been disobedient since I was young. Have you forgotten?”
“…”
“I remember when I was a child, I made mother cry. You coaxed mother. She said that she really wanted to throw me away. You said no. You said I was the apple of your eye. No matter how naughty I was, I was your treasure, your little princess.”
Andrew felt his eyes sour.
“When do you think I’m not obedient and always make trouble?” Serina sniffled, “I believe since Clara came to our home.”
Andrew did not say anything, but he tacitly admitted that the family had changed since Clara came.
“You began to think that Clara was good and I was bad. She was obedient and sensible, while I was naughty. Whatever she did was right while I was wrong to do anything. Dad, don’t you think you’re biased?”
